Britney To Play Lovestruck Receptionist
(CBS)
Britney Spears will be making a TV appearance soon, but for once it won't be in tabloid footage.
The pop star will be making a guest appearance on the CBS sitcom "How I Met Your Mother" on March 24, a publicist for the show confirms to TheShowBuzz.
In the episode, the show's lead character Ted (Josh Radner) pursues a dermatologist who continually turns him down for a date. Spears plays the doctor's receptionist, Abby, who becomes smitten with Ted.
Past guest stars on the show include Wayne Brady, Enrique Iglesias, Bob Barker and Mandy Moore.
TV personality Vanessa Minnillo, who gets plenty of her own tabloid coverage, will guest star on the show's March 17 episode.
"How I Met Your Mother" revolves around Ted, a young aspiring architect who, after his best friend Marshall (Jason Segel) announces he's going to propose to his girlfriend Lily (Alyson Hannigan), realizes he had better get a move on if he hopes to find true love.
When Ted meets Robin (Cobie Smulders), he's sure it's love at first sight, but destiny has something else in store. The series is narrated through flashbacks from the future.

Helping him in his quest is Barney, played by Neil Patrick Harris, a friend with endless, sometimes outrageous opinions, a penchant for suits and a foolproof way to meet women.
