(AP)  Former first lady Nancy Reagan was hospitalized Sunday after falling in her home in Bel-Air but is doing well, her spokeswoman said.

Reagan, 86, was taken to St. John's Health Center, where doctors determined she did not break a hip as initially feared, spokeswoman Joanne Drake said.

Drake said Reagan was doing well and would be staying the night in the same room where former President Ronald Reagan stayed after he broke his hip at home in 2001. He died June 5, 2004, after a 10-year battle with Alzheimer's disease. The two were married for 52 years.

Reagan's family physician recommended the overnight stay "as a precaution," Drake said.

"She's joking and visiting in her room," Drake said.

A message left for a hospital spokesman Sunday night was not immediately returned.

Nancy Reagan's last major public appearance was at the Jan. 30 Republican presidential debate at the Reagan Library in Simi Valley, Calif., where she sat with Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.

She did not attend a 97th birthday celebration held for her late husband at the library on Feb. 6.

"When I think of all the *** I learned in high school, it''s a wonder I can think at all"..Paul Simon

It takes character (and courage) to call a rat a rat - especially when its a diefied rat.
In the case of this particular person the word respect is a euphimism for fear...She really, really understood that...
Compassion??? I sure as world ain''t gonna waste that on those who think "authenticity" is a valuable acting skill...

You are right. It takes a person with character, respect, and compassion to feel sorry for other people. From your post, it appears you lack both, real world or otherwise.

Now I understand why a course on citizenship was a high school graduation requirement many years ago. We were taught that we could disagree on political matters in a civil manner. The short post above shows much about the poster. I can only hope that it was written by a very immature elementary school student in need of a citizenship course and a critical thinking course. Isn''''t freedom of speech wonderful? At least my post doesn''''''''t contain anything obscence.

Well now, all that''s real nice - but then we graduate from high school, after a few years we figure it out that politics ain''t no academic parlor game - except in academic parlors. Out here in the real world, its a blood sport. We figure it out that all those courtly, gracious, smilin'' folks are very busy stickin'' knives in our backs. And this vindictive old bat was one of the best at it... Don''t go lookin'' for me to be crying any tears over her misfortune...

Dear God man, calm down. Before you go to sleep tonight, think about what you have just said. Perhaps you think you''re funny. Perhaps you wish to provoke. I don''t know.

However, the fact is, you just sound silly and hysterical.

An 86 year old lady falls over and has to go to the hospital. Is there really any need for some of the vicious and cruel comments on here?

What makes me laugh is that some of the commentators take the moral high ground. Sneering at an injured old lady is simply crass and trashy.

I can''t believe the gall some of you posters have. First off, The lady is 86 yrs old. She cared for her husband who had Alzheimers for 2 decades. She served our country well as first lady. To those of you bashing Nancy Reagan, It only shows YOUR shortcomings. Obviously you have no chance bashing someone who can or cares to fight back. You are the ones that will rot in Hades.

It has been learned that Nancy Reagan fell and was taken to the same hospital and put in the same room that her late husband occupied when he broke his hip.

Since this room is now a shrine to all loyal card-carrying neocon Fascist Nazis, only those die-hard neocon Fascist Nazis of importance are allowed to use the room. Mrs. Reagan was allowed access because of her relationship to her late husband, the fact that she supports the neocon Fascist Nazi GOP, and because she brought her stuffed champanzee, BONZO, with her!

SIG HEIL, BUSH!!!!

how mush do you think we spent to bury the womans husband???

check it out, you will be surprised,, that makes her part of the problem, her support of the immoral conservative agenda is one of the reasons amerika is going into the toilet.

let her eat cake, she deserves all the scorn we can heap on her for spending millions of tax payer dollars to bury her WORTHLESS HUSBAND -REAGAN

What a coldhearted and messed up statement. You should be ashamed of yourself Jerry Omara. Have you ever thought you might end up in Hell yourself. Thinkabout that for 30 seconds and accept him.

I feel only pity for people who have nothing but hateful remarks to say about most anything or anyone who doesn''t happen to believe what you believe. You are truly sad "little" people.

For those of you who feel the need to be so cruel in your comments - GROW UP!! This woman has done nothing to harm you or your pathetic lives.

You want to see changes in the system - get off your dead ***** and do something about it. Nothing worse than lazy whiners who feel the need to blame everyone else for their own deficiencies.
