(AP)  Aruban investigators in the Netherlands again questioned a Dutch college student Friday in the Natalee Holloway disappearance as they sought a court order to detain him as a suspect based on a hidden-camera interview.

Police questioned Joran Van der Sloot for about two hours, and he again denied any role in the May 2005 disappearance of the American teen in the Dutch Caribbean island, the Aruban prosecutor's office said in a statement. The 20-year-old Van der Sloot was detained previously in the case but was released for insufficient evidence.

Van der Sloot, who was accompanied by a lawyer, claimed he was under the influence of marijuana when he said in a secretly taped video that he was with Holloway when she died and that he had a friend dump her body at sea, the prosecutor's office said.

He was not taken into custody.

Last week, a judge in Aruba denied a prosecution request to detain Van der Sloot based on his statements in the video, surreptitiously recorded in installments inside a Range Rover by a man working for a Dutch television crime reporter.

Aruban authorities appealed that ruling on Tuesday and expect a decision next week.

Holloway, an 18-year-old from Mountain Brook, Ala., was last seen leaving a bar in the Aruban capital Oranjestad with Van der Sloot and two Surinamese brothers on the final night of a high school graduation trip to the island. Extensive searches have found no trace of her.

Van der Sloot has denied to authorities any involvement in her death. But in the video - first broadcast on Dutch television - he says she collapsed on the beach after they left the bar and that he called a friend to dump her body at sea.

Aruba's top prosecutor has called the video "impressive" and said he believes it is admissible in court. But Van der Sloot's lawyers insist it was not a confession and their client told a Dutch news program that he lied on the videotape.

kailumego1, your logic is as flawed as your spelling.

Ms. Holloway is responsible for trying to have fun celebrating her graduation and the successful future she should have had ahead of her. It was her great misfortune that a stalking psychopathic creep was hunting prey that night, but it was not her fault. Van Der Sloot drugged, kidnapped, raped and killed her. He and his accomplices are responsible for their actions.

On the other hand, if this is happening to so many hundreds of girls in Aruba that it can be considered predictable and preventable, then the tourist organizations should post a strong warning to avoid Aruba as a dangerous location.

Personally, I cannot imagine taking a vacation on an island that finds murdering tourists acceptable, particularly if they are partying. Why else would anyone go to a boring little nothing of a place like Aruba but to party and enjoy the beach?

rushlimpdrug and you have the intellectual capacity of an "inch-worm".

Natalie did responsibility in her demise, and seeing that you''re too intellectually inept to comprehend allow me to "break-it-down" for you.

1. Putting herself in this tedious situation, by becoming so intoxicated to the point that her judgment was impaired.
2. Allowing a "stranger" to give her a drink, knowing what that implies, hearing all the stories back in the good old U.S.A. of young women having their "drinks spiked".
3. Then accompanying a "stranger" along, to an isolated unknown location.

Some women like to preach about "liberation" and taking control of their bodies, but that doesn''t mean to act foolishly with reckless disregard.

There are a lot of young women like Natalie that take unnecessary changes with their safety, of which they need to take responsibility for whatever occurs as a result of this blatant disregard.

What has yet to surface is the fact Joran Van der Sloot spiked her drink with a date rape drug. This lead to her overdose, convulsions and lose of her involuntary control of her breathing. This is something he and his friends had been doing all summer, preying on vacationing girls, playing with them like party favors.

His descriptions of Natalee Holloway shows he saw her as a *** toy and did not even view her as human.

Van Der Sloot is guilty, of being a coward and heartless human being, however, Natalie does bare considerable responsiblity.

Her behavior leading up to this unfortunate incident was not stellar. She was complicit in her demise, by accompanying a "stranger" to an isolated location and getting heavily intoxicated.

This incident should alert young women to the dangers of getting "blasted" on alcohol and drugs, and then, which for the life of me I don''t understand, accompanying a "stranger" off to an isolated location, e.g. the beach, his home, etc.

You can argue over Joran''s guilt and his blatant disregard for human life, however, these young women have to take responsibility for their own safety.

I''d watch the video and heard the references made about Natalie and other young women, which should "shock the conscious" of those viewing to take greater responsibility for "themselves".

Uh, yeah, you''re a genius.
Like no one would believe any of what he said on the video.
Get a life.
It happens all the time.
Circumstance.
Of course getting a conviction in Aruba is a different story.

If my memory serves me right, isn''t this the same kid who, when the story broke, said he was just making up a story because he thought this what the guy wanted to hear? Now he is saying that the whole story was made up because he was on pot!

Stay tuned next week when the kid then says that the girl was abducted by Klingons who wanted to perform an autopsy on her!

Let''s face it people, this is the Dutch version of OJ Simpson all over again, except this time the kid wasn''t as stupid as OJ to leave a body behind. The sharks made sure there wouldn''t be any trace. The kid will go free, and is already counting the money he is expecting to get from the Aruba government when his parents sue.

Who says crime doesn''t pay!!!!

SIG HEIL, BUSH!!!!

"he says she collapsed on the beach after they left the bar and that he called a friend to dump her body at sea."

Well maybe attorney rushlimpdrug hadnt thought of the fact that this ''friend'' Joran supposedly called, is nowhere to be found, no name, no one ever came forth or spilled their guts to someone as they all do, nothing.
No friend, no friend''s testimony, no friend= proof of the LIE, and again; NO CASE.

Your mission, should you decide to accept is; find the ''friend'' Joran allegedly called to come help dump the BODY of the dead girl after she supposedly collapsed and died on the beach probably from alcohol poisoning or her own drug use.

"With this tape any lawyer could randomly pick 12 people to serve on a jury, show them the video and the boy would be someones girl in prizon before the sun set.

Posted by rushlimpdrug"

That AINT how it works, and their legal system differs from ours. No body, no confirmed cause of death, no valid confession in court under oath, NO CASE.
Prosecutor is grand standing again like they did with the "new evidence" the last time that turned out to be a farce.

Best they can do is improper disposal of a body, or involuntary manslaughter, and neither will result in any serious jail time, no doubt he will also get credit for the time he already served.

Usually when high your inhibitions go away and the truth comes out. If he wasn''t sure she was dead and the dumped her in the ocean, it could be murder.

Perhaps this Van der Sloot thingee was high on Twinkies when he killed the Holloway. That defense has gotten killers off in the past.

This is just another example of the so-called %u2018ruling elite%u2019s%u2019 disdain for the life and suffering of others. He drugged this poor girl, she had a bad reaction and his first thought was, %u201CWhat would George W. Bush do in a situation like this?%u201D And then he blames the dead girl on the video for complicating his life, calling her a *** (which in Europe means a *** rather than an unpleasant female or a canine that can bear puppies).

This punk should get twenty years for 1st degree arrogance by a nitwit.

There you go, so it''''s not evidence and not proof, and unless they find a body, witness or Joran admits he lied about his lie, then they have NO case.

You are a complete DUMBAZZ.

With this tape any lawyer could randomly pick 12 people to serve on a jury, show them the video and the boy would be someone''s girl in prizon before the sun set.

Van Der Sloot killed Miss Holloway, but the Arubans are not going to convict him of anything. They have had enough evidence to convict him of kidnapping and rape for years. What I don''t understand is why any American would choose that backwards little island for a vacation spot. It has nothing to offer that more lawful, less corrupt vacation spots do not have.

The cold s.o.b. threw a helpess, convulsing girl HE drugged into the ocean to die so HIS life wouldn''t be inconvenienced. He has mocked the Justice system, Police, and the poor girl''s parents, and referred to his victim by all kinds of dehumanizing language. What a disgusting, twisted sicko!! Lock him up in a Psych ward for life!!

There is only one thought about this guy -- a name I can call him -- the Elastic Man. He swaves from one story to the other, and there is only one reason this happens, his father is a judge, and has trained him some dynamics here!

So sad, but the bottom line, is that, as Joran says, at the end of the line, they are going to pay him a big fat cheque. HUMMMM, guess his father prepared him for the corruption that was going on at the time of the fatefull mistake!

I have been praying for justice to come for Natallee and her family from the beginning of this saga. I continue to hope for Justice! May God protect the innoncents!

With murder not being taken seriously by the Gov. of Aruba, I am surprised there has not been an influx of bank robbers into that country. It''s the only place I know where all one has to say is "I don''t know anything" or "I didn''t do it" & you are home free. Ill gotten gains et al. Next stop: Aruba!

It was an admission, not a confession. There is a legal difference. Still, anyone who admit to a murder they didn''t commit under any circumstances, is a piece of ***.
