Police arrested 25-year-old Madeline Jordan of Nitro along with her mother, brother, a cousin and two others after setting up a sting operation at a BP station in South Charleston.
The station's owner alerted police last week after noticing a significant drop in his income and found some receipts with the deeply discounted rate on them.
Police said Jordan reset the price at the pumps every Sunday morning for several months and allowed people she knew to fuel up their vehicles as well as portable gas cans.
Besides Jordan, police arrested her mother, Mary Jordan, 58, of Charleston; her brother, John Jordan, 27, of Charleston; cousin Vonnie Oldham, 38, of Leon; Clifford Parker, 47, of Leon; and Glennis Fields, 39, of Dunbar.
All six were taken to the South Central Regional Jail.
It was unclear whether any of the six had secured attorneys. The Kanawha County Courthouse was closed Monday in honor of Martin Luther King Jr., and phone calls to the South Charleston Police Department went unanswered.

- slim1 h20 not aiming at you, but just about everybody thinks that Gov''''t sets the price of Gas. Wrong answer, it''''s "Wall Street Spectulators" that control the price of gas. Gov''''t has very little to do with it.

The Gvmt could do something about it, but they are owned by the oil companies so they are not so inclined. - Reply to this comment
- slim1h2o No, Moral of the story is don''''t cheat the owner of the store, he/she still has to pay for the fuel no matter what. Did you know that if a person drives away without paying for their fuel, the clerk on duty is required to pay for it. So much for working 80 hours at minimum wage.

No prob., I didn''t take it as such, anyways. Wall street does have an effect on oil, but too, so do the companies them selves, to a degree.
For instance,,,they say they can''t refine fast enough, to keep up with demand.
I say hogwash, if they sank more money into bringing refineries back on line, then they could keep up. Hence lower prices, on a product that there''s plenty of.
They are keeping the prices artificially high, by not repairing the refineries, damaged by Katrina, Nope they would rather hand out golden parachutes to their retiring CEO''s. Remember Exxon-Mobil''s 400 hundred million payout to their CEO? And record profits? - Reply to this comment

Yes I do know that, but not all gas stations are independently owned. Some are owned by the oil companies.
At any rate, my post was meant to be sarcasm. And my point was/is, that the Oil Co''s can fleece, and gouge us, at will. With no repercussions, what so ever! - Reply to this comment
