"House Lust: America's Obsession With Our Homes," by Daniel McGinn

"Even as the real estate boom has turned to bust, Americans remain obsessed with houses," says Currency Books, publisher of "House Lust," by author and Newsweek national correspondent Daniel McGinn.

In the book and on The Early Show, McGinn explores the roots and manifestations of that fascination with homes and, on the show, he offers advice for navigating these hard real estate times, even as the fixation on and passion for houses continues.

Among other things, he cautions that you should stay within your means if you choose to do any improvements on your home -- pretend you're improving a rental, he advises -- and no longer think of improvements as invesrments.

"The New Rules of Marriage: What You Need to Know to Make Love Work," by Terrence Real

The title pretty much speaks for itself. In "The New Rules of Marriage," family therapist and author Terrence Real (terryreal.com) offers a roadmap to successul, mutually-fulfilling marriage in the 21st century.

On The Early Show, Real focused on second marriages. Statistics show that 95 percent of Americans who get divorced remarry -- but 60 percent of those second marriages also fail.

On the show,Real answered questions from people on Manhattan streets:

#1 What advice would you give to someone approaching a second marriage so they don't make the same mistakes as in their first?

#2 How would I blend my first family in with my second?

#3 What's the etiquette of giving gifts at a second wedding?

#4 How do you avoid financial pitfalls in a second marriage?

#5 Are second marriages more exciting and spicier than firsts?

Real founded REAL Relational Solutions (www.realrelational.com) and the Relational Life Institute.

"Why Mars and Venus Collide: Improving Relationships by Understanding How Men and Women Cope Differently with Stress," by John Gray

John Gray, Ph.D. has sold more than 30 million copies of "Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus."

He has a new book out, about how to keep love alive during stressful times.

It's called, "Why Mars and Venus Collide: Improving Relationships by Understanding How Men and Women Cope Differently with Stress."

Relationships are challenging enough, but when you add stress to the mix, things only get more difficult.

So, how can couples cope?

In "Why Mars and Venus Collide," Gray, a relationship expert, says men and women are hardwired to react differently to stress, so couples need to cultivate ways to nurture each other when stress is in play -- and he guides them through the process.

On The Early Show Tuesday, Gray discussed the ever-increasing role stress plays in today's relationships, how each gender handles stress and why there's a difference, and three of the ways couples can nurture and support each other when they're stredded out.
