Armed Man Arrested Near Capitol
U.S. Capitol Police arrested a man carrying a shotgun outside the Capitol building Friday, authorities said.
The man, who was not immediately identified, was in custody and no one was injured, police spokeswoman Sgt. Kimberly Schneider said.
An officer first spotted the man near Union Station, about two blocks from the Capitol.
Police used a robotic camera to see inside the vehicle but could not determine some "items of concern," Schneider said.
Authorities were evacuating parts of a nearby building as a precaution so they could use a powerful water hose to destroy the vehicle.

One of the most precious freedoms we have is the freedom of speech. The right to say anything we choose in criticizing our government. In fact, as an American, when I see what I believe to be criminal actions by the president, esp murderous traitorous war crimes like he has committed, then it is not only my right, but it is my DUTY to speak out in the strongest possible terms. As I said, I did not threaten bush''s life, because it''s a crime to do so. In as you say advocating his death (which I disagree with that choice of words) I only express that for the same reasons I hope Osama Bin Laden faces the gallows or is shot by an emeny, because to me the only difference between Bin Laden and Bush is that Bush has murdered many many times more people and is therefore an even more dangerous terrorist.
Bush is a war criminal and if there is any justice in the world he''ll be tried as one and hung.
The Secret Service has gotten a lot more efficient since the days of John Hinckley.
Concerns that President Barack Obama will be assassinated, while legitimate, are grossly exaggerated.
If Bush can survive as president, anybody can.
And the country is better off.
"Government by assassination" is what led Japan down the road to Pearl Harrbor and Hiroshima.
Oops, my bad... that''s what I get for turning on Fox News!
:-)
By the way, you are welcome to show examples of how free speech is being compromised by those who oppose fascism, as practiced by the Bush klan.
