Investigators believe alcohol, recent rain and reckless driving may have been factors in Friday night's crash of the Ford Bronco, which burned completely, state Trooper J.T. McMillan said.
"They were out there, playing around, mud-bogging on the dirt road," McMillan said. "They got stuck in the dirt and were pulled out by a dump truck. They sped off down the road and the driver struck two trees."
Mud bogging is an off-road motor sport in which drivers try to go as far as possible through a mud hole without bogging down.
The SUV was traveling around 70 mph at impact, and the occupants weren't wearing seat belts, he said.
Authorities say the deceased victims are Susanna Guffey, 24, who was driving the Ford Bronco; Christina Caldwell, 36; Guffey's 2-year-old son, Lucas Ross; and Zoe Jayde Flick, 4.
Guffey's four-year-old son, Brody, sustained minor injuries in the Friday night accident and was later released from Sylvan Grove Hospital in nearby Jackson.
Another passenger, Tammy Flick - the mother of Zoe - remains in stable condition at Atlanta Medical Center with a broken leg.
Neither is believed to have life-threatening injuries.
Griffin is about 37 miles south of Atlanta.

..........
No need to worry about that hungry...
...the mother, Susanna Guffey, is one of the dead.
A note to Brody (her injured son)...
...you may not understand this, if ever, but God did you a favor. You mother, arrogant and clearly irresponsible, would not have been a good role model for you... let alone a good "mother".
I sympathize with your loss, but mostly, I hope you eventually find peace. But mostly, I hope you find some responsible people who are willing and able to care for you as a REAL PARENT should (regardless of the blood relation).
---------------------------
And now they, and their kids, are dead.
I hope it was worth it.
Well, that was your 2nd mistake, the 1st was packing up the kids, and including them in on your little ride.
What?,,,couldn''t find a babysitter?
MY HEART GOES OUT TO THIS FAMILY,THE DRIVER DID A STUPID thing as we all do at one time or another, just in this case it killed loved ones. The driver put too much faith in the vehicle or had little experence. I NOTICED BY THE COMMENTS THERE ARE A LOT OF BACK SEAT DRIVERS,SHOULD HAVE, COULD HAVE,WOULD HAVE IS LIKE TURNING BACK TIME, YOU CAN:T.
Just goes to show that every decision we make has consequences. And, saddest of all, when they impact our children''s lives too.
My condolences and prayers go out to the deceaseds'' families and survivors of this horrible tragedy.

And you,, me. According to your posts, the only people having babies, live in trailer parks. ROFLMAO!
And how do you explain these rampages going on in the "Burbs",, and else where?
You need to learn where babies come from..LOL

Most of the comments I have read question the intelligence of the genius that put her toddlers in a SUV, didn''t bother to strap/car seat them in, did a little drinking and then decided to slide around in the mud at 70 MPH. That''s not "oops, I made a mistake" , that''s brazen carelessness. It really is to bad that the driver couldn''t have survived so that she could have witnessed first hand the devastation she wrought and as another poster suggested, be brought up on charges.
Please Post REAL news!
I cashed in my $300 check from Bush(it was my money)-I would''ve much preferred the permanent tax break given to those making over $200,000 annually. If the wealthy willgive back their tac cut I''ll gladly give back that lousy $300!
The Democrats passed quite a bit of legislation, but since Bush found his veto pen not much was enacted. They still got more done in 1 year than the GOp got done in 12.
Regarding Sadaam, sarin gas goes back to WW1, it''s as primitive as you can get. Everyone knows he was developing WMD before but there was no evidence that it was ongoing. Bush lied and sent us to war on a lie.
We know he had WMD before because we were one of his suppliers when he was fighting Iran. The Chinese were helping him to develop XV tanks back in the 1990s but pulled out of the project because of the Bioweapons treaty.
XV is 100 times more deadly than Sarin gas and is processed from anthrax. The antrax attack on Congressional Democrats by other Americans was a potentially greater bio attack than any Sadaam launched, even though no one died. It wasn''t Democrats or Jihadists that did that, it was elements of our own government who had access to anthrax.
Please stop breeding, idiots of all colors.
I have to think it started here in Cedar City and slowly spread to every where USA.
But then again, what the south and Utah have in common is MUCH inner breeding, which we all know to be scientific fact leads to mental retardation and instability.
There you have it.
It matters little if Sarin gas goes back to WW1 or the Crusades...it is still a WMD. It can still kill large numbers of people. Others might be stronger but dead is still dead, no such thing as a little dead! If a person inclined to do that has done it even once you can''t dismiss that as a single act of a madman. Regarding your check and the weathly try to remember that we need the wealthy, many of whom are major employers to keep people employed. If you don''t give them tax breaks they can''t keep as many people employed. Do the math; what is better a few rich folks paying some taxes or thousands of people at various levels of income paying to keep not just the Feds but local governments and infrastructures running. You want to talk about lies, it is still amazing to me that so many people have forgotten how that disgusting pig Clinton shook his finger in our faces and lied...real lies. He has never repented for that and I am so glad he was impeached. He deserved it. Dishonesty runs in that marriage of course; while with the Rose Law Firm Hillary Rotten Clinton was guilty of insider trading but got away with it.

So true, when done correctly. Sadly people have lost the skill to parent a child properly and ANYONE who says that spanking is not a useful tool is sadly lacking.
Of course that is off topic to the actual article. What a sad ending for those kids and for the one who survived, I hope he has family to love him though this horrible time!

Depends on your definition of ''''justice''''! In Darwinism, that is the justice that ''''stupidity'''' deserves.
How sad.
GO! DALLAS!!!!!! washington who?
Stupidity is a human condition that may or may not be inherited.
GO REDSKINS...BEAT the cowboys...aka the cowpokes, the cowchips! You get the drift...

Glad you are a Dallas fan! But I don''t think they can beat the Pats, in the "Super Bowl"
It''s fate who you get as a mother. Luck of the draw. Glad I lucked out & didn''t get an idiot like this woman who not only killed herself but another adult & someone else''s child. And for what?
"Let''s go, mud-bogging! Yee hah!"

Getting drunk and racing down a muddy road.
My goodness.
"The Dukes of Hazzard" should never have been allowed on TV.
Shows like that just give impressionable young folks some bad real ideas.
...And some real bad ones.
Deadly quagmires never come to any good.
I don''t think seatbelts would have helped much. They hit a tree at 70 mph and burst into flames immediatly.
They might have been conscious when they started to burn though and who knows, maybe they might have lived long enough to get out of the vehicle, maybe?
Think about it, Crackers.

Does that mean that yam dankees do it differently? Like kill your families before they can pollute society?
Pensylvania, West Virginia, New England are yankee country, (grin)

Southern drivers never saw a tree or a wall they didn''t like...
...just ask Dale Earnhardt!
Inbreds, reborns, phony Christian creeps....
...and really krappy drivers...
...that''s the South for you folks!
(In tribute to the absent "Seven_Pesos")
Sorry Iceman... you tempted me! :-)
