Britney Spears' Teen Sister Pregnant

Another Spears baby is reportedly on the way -- and it's not Britney's.

Jamie Lynn Spears, the 16-year-old "Zoey 101" star and sister of Britney, told OK! magazine that she's pregnant and that the father is her boyfriend, Casey Aldridge.

"It was a shock for both of us, so unexpected," she said. "I was in complete and total shock and so was he."

Spears says she's 12 weeks along, and initially kept the news to herself when she learned of the pregnancy from an at-home test and subsequent doctor visit, she told the celebrity magazine, which hits stands in New York on Wednesday and the rest of the country by Friday.

What message does she want to send to other teens about premarital sex? "I definitely don't think it's something you should do; it's better to wait," she told the magazine. "But I can't be judgmental because it's a position I put myself in."

After she found out from a doctor that she was pregnant, she said, "I took two weeks to myself where I didn't tell anybody."

"Only one of my friends knew because I needed to work out what I would do for myself before I let anyone's opinion affect my decision. Then I told my parents and my friends. I was scared, but I had to do what was right for me," she said.

Spears broke the news to her mother, Lynne, just before Thanksgiving, the magazine reported.

"She was very upset, because it wasn't what she expected at all," Spears said. "A week after, she had time to cope with it and became very supportive."

Lynne Spears, already grandmother to Britney's young sons, told the magazine: "I didn't believe it because Jamie Lynn's always been so conscientious. She's never late for her curfew. I was in shock. I mean, this is my 16-year-old baby."

She said her actress daughter, the telegenic heroine of her popular Nickelodeon series, has known Aldridge for years and began dating him in high school.

On The Early Show Wednesday, co-anchor Harry Smith spoke with Kim Serafin, a senior editor of inTouch Weekly magazine, about Jamie Lynn's situation -- and her relationship with Britney. Serafin mentioned reports that Britney found out Jamie Lynn is pregnant from the media, not Jamie Lynn. To see that interview, .

2"This Christmas, it'll be about two and a half years, I think," Jamie Lynn said. "At first, I was just friends with him; I've been friends with him since I was about 14. Then we started dating. I met him at church. He came there with a friend; I came there with a friend. We started talking and then started hanging out."

Jamie Lynn said that the couple does not live together - she lives with her mom, and he with his parents - and have no plans at the moment to get married.

"Right now, we're focusing on the baby and having a healthy baby," she said. "We're trying just to think about that right now so we haven't really talked about that."

She does want to raise the baby in her home state of Louisiana -- "so it can have a normal family life."

Nickelodeon released a statement: "We respect Jamie Lynn's decision to take responsibility in this sensitive and personal situation. We know this is a very difficult time for her and her family, and our primary concern right now is for Jamie Lynn's well being."

A publicist for the network did not immediately respond to phone and e-mail requests for additional comment.

"Zoey 101" is scheduled to conclude its third season Jan. 4 with a cliffhanger episode in which Spears' character must decide whether to leave her fictional Pacific Coast Academy boarding school in California to join her parents in London.

The show is scheduled to resume in February, and its producer, Dan Schneider, has said filming on the fourth season has already been completed.

WOW--Mom Spears is suprised Jamie Lynn is pregnant because Jamie Lynn never missed curfew!

Does not breaking curfew provide protection against pregnacy? Let me write that down; it might come in handy.

The Spears family is sad and pathetic. It''s a shame that they ever left that small town; at least in Kentwood their never ending string of idiotic acts would have never received so much publicity.

Brit''s kids and no doubt, jamie Lynn''s also, will have SO much negativity to overcome; it makes you wonder if the kids will ever lead a normal, decent life!

Some people should NOT be allowed to have kids; put the Spears family in this category!

I think some people need a reminder that all birth control is not 100%. I also have to wonder if this was turned if it were a boy "STAR" that got a girl pregnate would we be hearing this as well? Or is it just because the girl can''t hide like the men can.

Conservatives think Mr. and Mrs. Spears are bad parents because they raised two permiscous girls.

Liberals think they are bad parents because they didn''t have little Jamie on birth control.

This whole thing about "Statutory Rape" has been terribly abused. It''s not supposed to be used to snag two kids a couple of years apart who make a consensual decision to do the deed. It''s supposed to help protect young kids from REAL predators. There was no rape in this case. She''s FREAKIN'' 16...she KNOWS that babies don''t come from "public toilet seats"

She''s been seeing this boyfriend since she was 14...HELLO...that would have made him 16 at the time.

The kid in Georgia has suffered a lot because of this balony. Now if the "boyfriend" was 25-30 years old...now that might be a different scene. Bottom line...if there is enough evidence that they both agreed to it and they''re not more than 2-3 years apart the "Statutory Rape" thing needs to be thrown out after about 14.

You almost NEVER see this in reverse a girl getting pegged for Stat Rape...I guess girls between the ages of 14-17 are "too stupid" to have minds of their own.

Pretty sad that one''s own publicist is treating one''s first child as a disease and talking about the family going into mourning. The hypocrisy in "pro-life" red-state land is so thick you can cut it with a knife (but it has too many syllables for anyone there to know what it means). Those of us who were adults during her rise considered Britney''s early career to be a form of child abuse. Are the hypocrites going to be true to their values now and demand the father be thrown in jail and branded a *** offender forever, or are they going to be true to hypocritical form and count him an exception? I''ll be so glad when Howard Dean finishes turning the red states blue so we won''t have to watch these bizarre trailer-trash train wrecks...

She had such a great role model in her Big (and getting bigger) Sister too. Maybe it was really an Alien abduction and she will have a little one that looks like ALF.

Showbuzz does it again -- CBS joins the ranks of the trash tabloids. With the photo essay accompanying the story about Jamie Lynn Spears, some idiot CBS writer decided to caption the image with "Britney''s Little Sis Jamie Lynn Spears trying to follow in big sis'' footsteps."

Britney Spears never got pregnant until she was 23 years old, after she married her dirt bag husband. What footsteps???? Severe depression following back to back babies?? Emotional hell from an adulterous husband squandering a fortune he didn''t earn???

And so this writer joins the pile of Britney bashers and relies on a trash tabloid source. Uncouth, unethical, untrue, unprofessional and unacceptable. I don''t know why I expected CBS to be better. Katie Couric said it well when Showbuzz trashed Lindsay Lohan; "This young woman''s life is on the line, and that isn''t entertainment." At least Katie has standards.

kgca......you say teenage girls around the country get pregnant all the time.
True.....big difference here.....they don''t immediately run out with their mommy to do an interview about it with a national magazine.
The Spears daughters are only following their stage mom''s lead.....mother of the year!
