Grinch Alert: Gridlock Delays Honeymoon For Lawmaker Lovebirds

By Amie Parnes

(The Politico)  Two members of Congress might be just a little miffed the congressional calendar is running a little later than usual.

Reps. Connie Mack, (R-Fla.) and Mary Bono (R-Calif.) are getting married tomorrow in a small, private wedding in Asheville, NC, and have put off any plans to honeymoon next week, Mack’s spokeswoman said on Friday.

“They’ll definitely be here Monday for votes,” said Stephanie Dubois, Mack’s spokeswoman. “That’s their job.”

The two congressional lovebirds—who have been dating for more than two years-- planned their wedding date in October, long before anyone knew what the House calendar looked like. It will be Mack's second wedding, and Bono's third marriage.
