Hunter Sends Clinton Some Holiday Cheer

By Daniel W. Reilly

(The Politico)  Who says there is no holiday cheer in the presidential race?

This week, Republican presidential candidate Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-Calif.) sent a thank-you note to Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) after Hunter was asked a question  in last week’s CNN/You Tube Republican presidential debate by a man who had previously advised Sen. Clinton’s presidential campaign.

Keith Kerr, a retired brigadier general in the California National Guard, asked Hunter and the other candidates why they didn't support gays and lesbians serving openly in the military

“I sent a letter to Hillary Clinton two days ago,” said Hunter in an interview on Monday.

“It said, ‘Concerning the general who asked the question, please send more, Merry Christmas,’”

The blogosphere has been ignited with talk of a conspiracy after it was revealed that Kerr had previously advised Clinton’s campaign on gay and lesbian issues, leading some to believe that Clinton planted the question.

Clinton’s campaign has adamantly insisted they had nothing to do with Kerr’s question and CNN has apologized for the incident.
