The ShowBuzz Weekly Forecast
(CBS/AP)
This is sure to be a money-making week at the box office as Will Smith attempts to stem the tide of a super virus in "I Am Legend" and Alvin, Theodore and Simon are a handful of trouble for their owner as the cartoon classic "Alvin and the Chipmunks" gets an update with some live participants.
Speaking of classics, pick up the box sets just released by Pink Floyd and Radiohead, or purchase your copy of "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix."
MOVIES
In "I Am Legend," scientist Robert Neville, played by Will Smith, is unable to stop a manmade, incurable virus from exterminating the human race. Now, as the only survivor left in the world, Neville desperately tries to use his own immune blood to reverse the virus before the plague's mutant victims eat him alive.
Queen Latifah, Terrence Howard and Gabrielle Union star in "The Perfect Holiday," a story about how a shopping mall Santa Claus comes to the rescue of a divorced mother of three who is so busy taking care of her children that she forgets to take proper care of herself.
TV
Based on the Mitch Albom best-seller, the TV movie "For One More Day" stars Michael Imperioli ("The Sopranos"), Ellen Burstyn and Scott Cohen. An "Oprah Winfrey Presents" production, it airs at 9 p.m. EST Sunday on ABC.
A new documentary, "Wrestling with Angels: Playwright Tony Kushner," reveals the playwright as resolutely upbeat, steadily productive, and amazingly relaxed for someone whose days are driven by the urge to speak the truth, and are fueled, in part, by his background as a gay progressive who grew up in the South. A special presentation of "P.O.V.," it airs 9 p.m. Wednesday on PBS (check local listings).
The film "Snowglobe" stars Christina Milian and Lorraine Bracco ("The Sopranos"). It premieres 8 p.m. Saturday on cable's ABC Family channel.

"Doris to Darlene, a Cautionary Valentine," is about how a song Richard Wagner wrote in the 1860s helps mold a biracial schoolgirl into a pop star a century later, as the tune becomes her career defining top-ten hit.
