(CBS)  Every year selecting titles to recommend to holiday shoppers is difficult. There are so many really great titles developers have worked hard on. So with many titles to choose from, shopping for a gamer in your family can be tricky.

We have narrowed down tons of titles to bring you this list. Here are my personal top 5 picks for this 2007 Holiday season.

"SOCOM: U.S Navy SEALs Tactical Strike" Platform: PSP
Definitely circle this one twice on your list to Santa. Instead of controlling an individual team member here you control the whole 4 man squad in a tactical strategy game. Essentially you control the team's movements and the computer carries out the actions.

This game has a high replay value and some great multiplayer modes, five in all. Besides the obvious deathmatch, which seems to be a favorite online, you can also play extract mode where you are assigned a VIP to move to safety. Anyone who is a SOCOM fan needs to pick this one up. Read the full review here.

"NBA Live 08" Platform: Playstation 3
Live 08 is far improved over previous releases, and shows off some of the PS3’s power on a next gen platform. Besides playing an actual NBA game, there are tons of extra modes. Virtually every aspect of the All-Star Weekend is available and you can even select from FIBA international teams. New additions to the gameplay such as a color-coded overlay that shows the shooters strong and weak spots helps work towards your advantage. Online play has been improved and as there is hardly a delay in the action, one of the few sports titles with that to boast. All of this makes Live 08 a solid pick this holiday season.

"Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" Platform: PS3/Xbox 360/PC
Regardless of what platform you get this title on, it's a winner. The single player campaign is a well-paced, non-stop action experience. Unlike previous Call of Duty games, this latest installment is set in a modern era rather than WWII. The cinematic experience is purely top notch. Graphics are fantastic on this title, and the controls are really easy. Although there are many good titles to choose from this holiday season, "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare" gets my vote for shooter of the year, hands down. Read the full review here.

"Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga" Platform: Xbox 360
How can you not enjoy your favorite Star Wars characters as cute little Lego people? The kid-friendly action adventure game is back but this release consists of the first two titles from 2005 and 2006 in one package, on a next generation platform. The graphics have been update for the series, and is the first game in the series to have online play. Lego Star Wars makes a great stocking stuffer even if you're Darth Vader.

"World in Conflict" Platform: PC
This is an excellent RTS with a great story line. Events take place in 1989 where the Soviet Union launches and all out attack on Western Europe. The single player campaign in "World in Conflict" features 14 missions, and a robust multiplayer option. Again, it's a strategy based game, so you have to rely more on tactics and positioning rather than pure shooting. So your focus is on re-supplying your troops, air dropping reinforcements, and fixing damaged equipment so you can will the battle. If the combat gets too hairy you can call in air strikes and even call in tactical nuclear weapons. Great visuals and a lengthy campaign make this one a solid pick. If you played and loved "Joint Task Force", you'll surely love this game. See the video here.
