Barack Obama, on Monday: "Probably the strongest experience I have in foreign relations is the fact I spent four years overseas when I was a child in Southeast Asia."I don't know who "won" this exchange, but Obama practically painted a bullseye on his chest with his initial comment. No opponent with a pulse would have passed up the chance to throw it back in his face.
Hillary Clinton, on Tuesday: "Voters will judge whether living in a foreign country at the age of 10 prepares one to face the big, complex international challenges the next president will face. I think we need a president with more experience than that."
Barack Obama, later on Tuesday: "I was wondering which world leader told her that we needed to invade Iraq."
The good news for Obama, however, is that it gave him a chance to tweak Hillary yet again about Iraq. I don't know for sure if that's a winning strategy, given that his forward strategy for withdrawal isn't very different from HRC's, but it's a helluva lot better than Social Security. If he wants to disinguish himself more sharply from Hillary, this is the place to do it.
