Former Top Lawyer Gets Big Bucks

It looks as if former U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales is landing on his feet. The embattled Texan resigned after the Justice Department came under fire for axing nine U.S. attorneys. Now University of Florida's student paper, the Alligator, reports that Gonzales will take home $40,000 for a campus speech next week.

Clinton's AG Janet Reno may not be happy: Whispers learns that she got $15,000 for a UF chat in 2005. But both are netting less than Jack Kevorkian, who will make a killing for a speech at the school next year: $50,000.
