(AP)  Federal agents raided the headquarters of a group that produces illegal currency and puts it in circulation, seizing gold, silver and two tons of copper coins featuring Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul.

Agents also took records, computers and froze the bank accounts at the "Liberty Dollar" headquarters during the Thursday raid, Bernard von NotHaus, founder of the National Organization for the Repeal of the Federal Reserve Act & Internal Revenue Code, said in an interview.

The organization, which is critical of the Federal Reserve, has repeatedly clashed with the federal government, which contends that the gold, silver and copper coins it produces are illegal. NORFED claims its Liberty Dollars are inflation free and can restore stability to financial markets by allowing commerce based on a currency that does not fluctuate in value like the U.S. dollar.

"They're running scared right now and they had to do something," von NotHaus told The Associated Press Friday. "I'm volunteering to meet the agents and get arrested so we can thrash this out in court."

Wendy Osborne, a spokeswoman for the FBI's Indianapolis office, declined to comment and referred all questions to the U.S. attorney's office for the Western District of North Carolina. Suellen Pierce, a spokeswoman for that office, also declined to comment.

In a federal seizure warrant given to the AP by von NotHaus, federal agents allege the money and other properties seized in the raid were linked to money laundering, mail fraud and wire fraud.

The raid comes eight months after von NotHaus filed a lawsuit in federal court in Evansville seeking a permanent injunction to stop the federal government from labeling the Liberty Dollar an illegal currency.

The U.S. Mint issued a warning this year that the Liberty Dollar violated the Constitution and warned consumers against using them unsuspectingly.

Paul's campaign said it had not authorized production of the Ron Paul dollars.

"We have no connection with that," said Jesse Benton, a campaign spokesman for Paul. "He was using Ron as a marketing technique. We didn't have anything to do with that or sanction it or give permission in any way."

I don''t see how this violates laws.
It''s not like their printing money that''s Counterfeit. It''s coins of precious metals that keep up with inflation.
Feds are pissed off because a citizen can make a coin out of Precious metals, that are worth 100 percent of it''s face value. Funny how the feds started making us use cheap claded coins in the 50''s. The money that the Federal Government makes really has no value.
They control what it is worth, they simply deflated the value. and roll the profits out the back door of the treasury. (They can steal from us by make the dollar worth less) That is Criminal!

The coins are not fake. They are real--unlike the unconstitutional funny money that the FED issues.

This presidential campaign is between those stupid enough to think that only a few oligarchs should have a monopoly right to create the means of exchange--money--and those who object to this paper aristocracy.
Money is literally created from nothing through the FED--real money...like the silver Liberty coins are a real danger to the kind of funny money producers...

...the banker elites have artificially kept down the price of gold until the recent upsurge--much of the evidence for the gold producers case of conspiracy against the banks was destroyed in the 9-11 attacks.

The FBI, ever the servant of the banks, is stealing the property of men and women who have precious metals stored there...Will they next go after the 9-11 oommemoratives with the pop-up trade towers?

Down with the FED! Down with its dog, the Bush Regime!

GrammaWhamma--What is fanatical about silver coins and supporting Liberty Mint''s right to sell these coins...Have you seen the price of gold and silver? That price rise represents the devaluation of the ''dollar.'' If you look at the definition of a dollar, you''ll see that it''s value under the Mint Laws was specified in grains of gold and silver of a given purity. It isn''t a paper note--a federal reserve note--that has no intrinsic value.

Sensible people object to the FED and the monopoly power granted to a coterie of private bankers.

Spamming garbage is an attempt to obliterate the very liberty they claim to support--free speech and free assembly.

I am with some of these other folks.. These are not fake coins, the problem is they are MORE real that the coins that ARE "real". Our "real" coins and bills are magical mystical "believe in them" dollars that are entirely made up. These coins are hard currency. The issue is that that they were bad, but that they make OUR currency LOOK bad.
And I am just a normal dude, with "fake" dollars in the bank (like everyone else!), and WISH I had real money made out of real metal worth something!
When a dollar is only worth 10cents (like now!), I sure wish we had "real" money. This fake money, being dumped onto the market by the FED, is NOT a friend of normal people, but a friend of big business and rich folks. Oil is NOT 100/barrel, it is that our MONEY is worth much much less. In Euros Oil is about the same price.. the issue has been drop in the dollar NOT increased price in Oil. Oil is actually worth the same amount IN GOLD!

Why is this coin illegal? What''s next, seizing poker chips? Pesos? Monopoly Money? McDonald Bucks? With the fed printing their own money at whim, their dollar loses value due to the dilution of resources (inflation). That means the fed is in essence stealing from those who save, including the very banks they bail out. There''s a reason why the dollar is quickly losing its value, and the Fed is at the very center of it.

The Great Emperor Bush is upset that fake coins are being circulated with Ron Paul''s picture on them. He is upset, not that they are counterfeit, but that they did not have either HIS picture, or that of VP Darth Vader Cheney on them. Naturally, with the new official $1 coin featuring the images of the presidents on it, The Great Emperor Bush II has to wait for several years before his likeness appears on the coin, which to him, is unacceptable. After all, he could be dead by the time the coin is issued.

The Emperor reasons that if the Roman Emperors and Adolph Hitler could get his picture on money, he should be able to also, and during his lifetime. So, it is possible that the Great Emperor may order the mint to "skip" all the prior presidents as they are irrelevant anyway (including his "daddy"), and the next new currency out could have the Emperor''s picture on them, which could make the value of the currency of the USSA even more worthless than it is now!

The US Mint--the lying, thieving human garbage--has the audacity to say that these privately minted coins violate the Constitution, yet let the private Federal Reserve dispense their funney money Notes with absolutely no backing whatsoever--when the Constitution calls for a money of GOLD and SILVER by forbidding States to coin money and only allowing Congress to coin money. As it is not forbidden to the people, the 10th Amendment does not allow the federal government to interfere with the individual''s right to coin money--and there is absolutely no right given to the federal government to establish a central bank.

The IRS collects an income tax that does nothing more than pay the interest on the ''debt'' created by the mechanism of the FED...simply because some bankers create enter an amount on a debit ledger, to allow the federal government to create more buying power for itself. It should be abolished.

These are more rightfully called TOKENS, or novelty tokens and there are tens of thousands of different kinds. Do a look on Ebay in the numismatics, coins, tokens area and you''ll find minted coin-like tokens as far back as at least the 1830''s, they are worth what people will pay for them as collector items and novelties. Most are made of various metals including copper, aluminum, silver and even wood.

The Liberty Dollar belongs in that category and is not illegal, except the maker of them is selling them at a profit as CURRENCY.

Smart people don''t save the dollar any more, buy silver and gold.

Federal Reserve, a private organization, controls the money supply. States can have there own money if they want, just isn''t legal outside that particular state.

People paint pictures they want to paint, and people open their minds to pictures they want to see. That said. Anyone with two brain cells to rub together can recognize sold-out, mainstream media (CBS News) propoganda when they see it, as well as the provocateurs in this discussion area who plant their lazily-drawn lies about Ron Paul. Thank God there''s still millions of intelligent Americans who can see right through these traitorous lies, and our numbers and anger is growing daily. It''s hard to demonize a man who has served his God, his family, his country and our Constitution the way Ron Paul has during his lifetime, and make it beleivable to anyone with even a modicum of intelligence. It''s like selling cyanide, and calling it "mother''s milk." Nobody''s buying it.

WILL THIS POST SOON BE A THOUGHT CRIME?
While CBS was busy pretending all other news didn''t exist during the California wildfires, our Constitution was burning on the floors of Congress. On Oct 23, the House overwhelmingly passed HR 1955, the Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act. This Bill is one of the most blatant attacks against our right to freedom of speech ever devised by Congress. The Bill actually defines different types of thought as "homegrown terrorism," and unlike previous anti-terror legislation, it specifically targets U.S. citizens. The Bill uses extremely vague language to define "terrorist propoganda" as any speech which promotes an agenda that the government considers an "extremist belief system." Since the bill doesn%u2019t specifically define what an "extremist belief system" is, it will be entirely up to the interpretation of government officials. Isn''t that comforting? Considering how much the government has done to desecrate our Constitution lately, they would surely have to define this post as promoting an "extremist belief" system, since it promotes the restoration of civil liberties--something not en vogue these days. As disturbing as this Bill is, so to is the additional requirement that there be a seperate, "public version." In other words, the Bill we see is different from what Congress is seeing. Why''s that necessary? Whatever the reason, I predict this Bill will become Law soon while CBS focuses the country''s attention elsewhere

ARE WE A NATION OF LAWS?
Consider the Patriot Act. The Law is 342 pages long, or 57,000 words, making it a bit longer than Dostoevsky''s "Notes from Underground" or, if you''re partial to pigs, about twice the size of Orwell''s "Animal Farm." The Patriot Act is the reigning champion of our government''s recent un-American activities. When it was first paraded before Congress and the Senate following the 9/11 attacks, few Members, other than Congressman, Ron Paul dared to vote against it. Most in Congress simply gave it their rubber-stamp of approval, without ever reading it. Why bother? It was, after all, named the "USA Patriot Act." It must be a good thing. Right? Now in effect, the Law wrecks a generation''s worth of constitutional protections against government snooping, legalizing police-state tactics in searches and seizures, criminalizing certain forms of speech and political activity, and opening the way for the mistreatment of foreigners in government custody and wholesale expulsions and imprisonment. It is a repugnant, unnecessary Law that goes against the very principles its name wrongly implies. Yet, it remains unchecked and unbalanced by public opinion, Lawmakers or the Courts. So, yes, we''re a nation of Laws. But the Laws aren''t much to speak of when they''re designed to hoodwink the public to win its docility. Neither is public responsibility much to speak of these days when its docility is secured with nothing more than a ploy-riddled play on the word "patriot."

YOU''RE A FROG IN A POT
My fellow Americans need to open their eyes to the fact that our Republic, along with The Constitution upon which it was founded, is being flushed-down the toilet by our nations'' bought and paid for politicians and media. While the Oligarchs warn and incite fear in the sheeple about the prospect of terrorism, they at the same time leave our borders wide open, and then conduct illegal wars overseas that do nothing but incite the terrorism which their Orwellian Laws like the Patriot Act and the John Warner Defense Authorization Act pretend to protect us from. Wake up America! It''s not about protecting you from terrorism, or Global Warming, or any of that other fear-mongering garbage the sold-out, mainstream media feeds you 24/7. It''s about feeding the bankers and the military industrial complex, and facilitating the global elite''s ability to ratchet-down control over the American people, placing us into a total control grid where they can surveille, track and control everywhere we go and everything we do. It''s the groundwork for tyranny. It''s the New World Order plan of Bush, Clinton, Edwards, McCain, Giuliani, et.al., being executed quite beautifully. You''re a frog in a pot: In order to cook a frog, you don''t throw him into a pot of boiling water. If you do, he''ll resist and jump-out. What you do instead is, you turn the heat-up REAL SLOW, and by the time the water is boiling, he won''t be able to jump out anymore, because it''s too late--he''s already doomed.

CAMPING OUT WITH HALIBURTION
The John Warner Defense Authorization Act, which was supported by Clinton, Obama and McCain, permits militarized police round-ups and detention of protesters ("potential terrorists") and other "undesirables" for detention in facilities which are already contracted for and under construction by Kellog, Brown & Root, a subsidiary of Halliburton. This Law, which was sold to an "emergency managed" and willfully gullible public in the wake of the 9/11 attacks as a necessary measure needed by our President in order to fight his "global war on terrorism," permits the indefinite detention of American citizens who resists the foreign and domestic agenda of our President. The Journal of Counterterrorism & Homeland Security International reported recently that global engineering and technical services powerhouse, Kellog, Brown & Root announced during January 2006 that its Government and Infrastructure division had been awarded a (no bid) Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contract to build these detainment camps with a maximum total value of $385 million over a five year term, and that this contract called for the company to build "temporary detention and processing capabilities" to augment existing U.S. government Detention and Removal Operations and to support "the rapid development of new programs." New Programs? Could it possibly get any worse? Why would the president be so concerned about Americans protesting? Aren''t we all happy campers?

CLINTON MAKES BUSH DICTATOR
With the full support of Senators Clinton, Obama and McCain, President Bush recently signed into Law the John Warner Defense Authorization Act, which, according to Senator Leahy (VT), will actually "encourage the President to declare Martial Law." It does so by revising the Insurrection Act, a Laws which limits the President''s ability to deploy troops within the United States. The Insurrection Act has historically, along with the Posse Comitatus Act, helped to enforce strict prohibitions on military involvement in domestic Law enforcement. With one cloaked swipe of his pen, Bush has now undone all of those prohibitions. The John Warner Defense Authorization Act, which was signed by the President in an unpublicized ceremony, allows the President to declare a "public emergency," suspend Congress; The Constitution; and to take control of state-based National Guard units without the consent of your Governor or local authorities, in order to "suppress public disorder." President Bush seized this unprecedented power on the very same day that he signed the equally odious Military Commissions Act. The two Laws compliment one another. One allows for torture and detention abroad of those who dissent and are stripped of their citizenship, while the other seeks to enforce acquiescence at home by allowing the President to order the military onto our streets in a domestic Law enforcement role, which is already being done. Vote for Liberty. Vote for Ron Paul.

WHO''S RON PAUL?
Ron Paul''s campaign has become a clearinghouse for voters like me who feel unrepresented by the Fascisct (globalist Republicans) and their Socialist comrades in crime (globalist Democrats). They''re actually one and the same. It''s all a phony, poorly staged left-right paradigm. Most people, though, are too distracted, dumbed-down, or outright brainwashed by mainstream media, which endlessly regurgitates scientifically-crafted streams of information aimed at keeping their eyes closed to the realities of the world around them, that they fail to recognize this. Those currently in power, and those being groomed to take [major] political power, are preselected by a "global elite," and whomever is eventually elected, will ultimately, serve their agenda, and not ours. People on the right and those on the left have many differences, maybe irreconcilable ones. But we have a lot of common beliefs too, and our numbers and anger are of a considerable magnitude. No matter what happens in 2008, I personally believe Ron Paul will influence the national conversation about how much power our government should have over our lives; how much liberty we should give up for security; and whether we should continue moving along our current path towards one world government. These are issues that, frankly, no one else is talking about as seriously and sincerely as Ron Paul. What''s for sure is that his growing army of supporters like me will be a force to be reckoned with in 2008.

Private mints have been minting gold coins for over 150 years. I own some with Bill Clinton''s picture on it. They can put Ron Paul''s picture on their coins if they want. There''s no Law against that. libertydollar.com

TRUST ONLY THE WISDOM THAT IS YOURS

CBS NEWS CONDUCTING RIGGED POLLS
Most people can see right through the prejudice CBS News obviously has towards Ron Paul. In the few times they''ve covered him at all, I''m suprised they didn''t have one of their graphics artists Photoshop some devil horns on top of his head in that worst ever photograph they always use of him. CBS obviously thinks that if they pretend Paul isn''t a top-tier GOP candidate, then their readers and viewers will eventually think so too. Whenever they are forced to do a story on Paul, because some other mainstream source is covering him for some reason, the fact that their editors work overtime to slant their stories in such a way as to either marginalize his accomplishment, or present Paul in the most negative light possible, is obvious to anyone with a modicum of intelligence. "What about their polls?," you ask? As far as the CBS News poll is concerned, they don''t even include Paul on the list of GOP candidates which pollees can choose from, and then afterwards, report to you that Paul doesn''t even rank in their final tally. Ron Paul is getting major grass roots support nationwide. He has over 62,380 meetup group members in 1,175 Groups from 1,004 cities nationwide, with another 7,197 people more folks just waiting to hear when a new meetup group will start-up near them. He''s won ALL of the viewer phone-in polls in ALL of the GOP debates he''s been in, and has raised more money ($4.2 million) in one day than any other GOP candidate ever. Go Ron Go!

Ron Paul $20 silver liberty dollars were selling on ebay 3 days ago for $30 and under. Today thanks to the questionable government raid, they are now selling for over $400 each.
I sure wish I would have gotten some of them a few days ago!!!!

POLLSTERS ARTIFICIALLY SKEWING RESULTS
Ron Paul breaks fundraising records, wins phone-in and Internet polls, yet why are his national poll numbers so low? A Zogby pollee recently revealed what happened to him when he took part in their national, 2008 presidential election poll. Upon confirming Ron Paul as his choice for President, the poll then branched out into a myriad of bizarre and intrusive questions which would discourage most people from completing the process, and thereby making their vote for Ron Paul null and void. "The first part of the poll was about which candidate one prefers, with candidates from both parties being available as choices. Great! However, after I finished answering positively for Ron Paul, the poll got very interesting," he writes. "As anyone who is familiar with how polls work is aware, polls are branching in their structure. Answers you give to one section of the poll will determine what questions you will receive in the next section of the poll." The pollee then relates his confusion about the fact that the poll threw up 20 questions about cooking rice before another extensive set of questions regarding personal sexual behavior. "This went on for a number of pages and was rather intrusive," he said. "It dealt with sexual positions, sexual fantasies, sexual preferences and similar intimate subjects. Of course neither rice cooking or sexual behavior have anything to do with presidential elections or politics in general. Or at least it shouldn''t!"

RON PAUL WINS STRAW POLL IN WASHINGTON STATE
Texas congressman Ron Paul won the South Sound Ronald Reagan Republican Club (SSRRRC) 2008 presidential primary straw poll with 38 percent of the vote at their October 26 meeting in Pierce County, Washington. This is his third SSRRRC win; Dr. Paul won their August and September polls with 28 and 48 percent respectively. Fred Thompson placed second in all three polls. This latest one of many straw poll successes nationwide for the GOP presidential candidate and leading war opponent. "Dr. Paul enjoys great grassroots support in Washington and across the nation," said Paul spokesman Jesse Benton. "His numerous straw poll victories show that Americans embrace his message of freedom, peace, and prosperity, and are ready to put a real Republican in the White House." Dr. Paul''s September 14 rally in Seattle, Washington drew over 1,300 supporters.
