Al Qaeda Claims Link With Libya Terrorists
New Tape Blasts Gadhafi, Calls For Retribution For Libyan Leader's Improved Ties With U.S.

Interactive Tales Of The Tapes Excerpts and analysis of messages believed to have been recorded by Osama bin Laden.
In it, he claims a Libyan terror organization has linked arms with al Qaeda to overthrow Libya's political leaders, in retaliation for what it says is the African nation's closer ties to the West.
CBS News research on Jamaa Islamiya of Libya shows that most of that organization's leadership are in Libyan prisons, and that most of its leaders who have escaped prison have fled to Afghanistan.
Their presence in the same region where authorities believe Zawahiri to be at this stage helps to explain this new claim of linkage between the groups. Yet prior to the audio tape's release, CBS News has found no evidence of any link between Zawahiri and Jamaa Islamiya in Libya.
In the tape, which surfaced today on a Web site, Zawahiri was harshly critical of the Libyan leader, branding him an enemy of Islam, and threatens a wave of attacks against Libya because of its improved relations with the United States.
In the 28-minute-long recording, titled "Unity of the Ranks," Zawahiri announced that the group Jamaa Islamiya in Libya has joined al Qaeda, and urged the Mujahideen in North Africa to topple the leaders of Libya, Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco.
"Today, with the grace of Allah, the Muslim Ummah witnesses a good and positive move … with some of the finest members of the Combatant Jamaa Islamiya in Libya announcing they've joined al-Qaeda to follow on the footsteps of their brothers," Zawahiri said in the tape.
Zawahiri once again slammed Fatah, saying that its leadership has turned the movement into a branch of the CIA, and a department of the Mossad. He urged members of al Aqsa Martyrs brigades to rebel against their political leaders, put their trust in Allah, and embrace Jihad in Palestine and elsewhere.
He then introduced Libyan Abu Laith al Libi, another al Qaeda leader who has been in charge of the training camp in Afghanistan.
Al Libi launched into a scathing attack on the Libyan regime, and slammed Moammar Gadhafi, "The Tyrant of Libya," for allowing the "Crusaders" led by the United States to turn Libya into yet another base from which to wage their campaign against Muslims in North Africa.
Al Libi then announced that the Jamaa Islamiya of Libya has joined the ranks of al Qaeda. "At the Jamaa Islamiyah, we hereby declare that we are joining al Qaeda … To become loyal soldiers who will lift the banner of monotheism and Jihad and follow the steps of our leaders, and on top of them Sheikh Osama bin Laden, may Allah protect him," al Libi said.
Al-Libi went on to say that the group, under this new status, will be closely cooperating with al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (Algeria).

- Mirror, Oh Mirror.
don''t you see a (mirror) symetry between the tw religions (Judaism and Islam). In a first case we have an ex-general (warrior) in the IDF who became president and been killed by religious extremists. Now we see the same story bulding up in symetrically; Ghaddfi who used to be tough personage in the nternational community of Nations, being menaced by the Nut Zawahiri of AlQ because of his rehabilitation into the group o Nations. - Reply to this comment

- Chasing down Al Queda is like the Wack-the-Mole game at Chuck-E-Cheese. Does Mr. Bush think if he wacks enough, he''ll get the tickets needed to redeem a special prize, the one he''s been lusting after in the glass case above the checkout counter? Someone needs to go around to the back of the machine and unplug it so he can''t play anymore.

- I support Ron Paul and his non-interventionist foreign policy. Hitlery wants to continue our illegal police action in Iraq until at least 2013, and she does not rule out a preemptive (nuclear) first strike against Iran. Ron Paul voted against our (undeclared) war in Iraq, which was sold to us with lies. The area is more dangerous now than when we entered it. We destroyed a regime hated by our direct enemies--the jihadists, and created thousands of new recruits for them. The war in Iraq has cost more than 3,400 American lives and almost a trillion dollars. We need a leader in the White House who will ensure this never happens again. Both Jefferson and Washington warned us about entangling ourselves in the affairs of other nations. Today, we have 750 foreign bases and troops in 130 countries. We are spread so thin that we have too few troops defending America. And now, there are new calls for a draft. We can continue to fund and fight no-win police actions around the globe, or we can refocus on securing our borders against illegal alien who are invading our country from the South. No war should ever be fought without a Declaration of War voted upon by the Congress, as required by The Constitution. Under no circumstances should the U.S. again go to war as the result of a resolution that comes from an unelected, foreign body, such as the United Nations. Too often, we give foreign aid and intervene on behalf of governments that are despised. Then, we too become despised.

- What we need is a President who will show us the way. Not the old way. Not the same way, but a NEW WAY. Think about this for a minute. What if we pulled all of our troops out of South Korea? They''ve been there for 50+ years. What if we quit worrying about Iran, but instead, realized that its having a nuclear weapon will not mean the end of the world? What if we pulled all of our troops out of the Middle-East, and brought them all home? What if we realistically addressed the National Debt, and paid attention to REALLY DOING SOMETHING about stopping illegal immigration? These are the ideas of Republican Presidential candidate, Dr. Ron Paul. He''s a ten term Congressman and a physician who has delivered over 4,000 babies. He''s an intellectual who''s published four books, three of which are devoted entirely to sound economics and one to foreign policy. He was raised on a dairy farm in Pennsylvania as a pious Lutheran, but now he attends a Baptist church. Paul is given to mulling things over morally. Whenever he recollects the helicopter pilots he treated as an Air Force Flight Surgeon (Captain) during the Vietnam War, a war which he now says was "totally unnecessary and illegal," he laments, "They were gung-ho. I''ve often thought about how many of those people never came back." Candidates with the high level of personal integrity and proven track record of adherance to The Constitution, Congressman Paul has always demonstrated only come around once in a lifetime, if we''re lucky.

- Dear Pilgrimsprog,
We are missing now for an hour or two your knowledegable views about why Iranians (or Chileans or Nepalese?) are seeking world dominance, in contradiction to the unambiguous evidence that certain American world leaders are not only thinking about but have already instigated policies for world domination in the form of the New American Century (involving Halliburton and a certain president named George). To put this politely: "DUHHH!". To prevent us from falling into the trap of lies and deceit generated by the Iranians and Estonians and Namibians, or whoever it is trying to dominate the world and take over America, please set us straight. We eargerly await your insight. I am curious George. I do not want to be Estonian. (no offense to my esteemed Estoninan friends, but i want to be a real American, like George.) - Reply to this comment

- Who wants world dominance? You can argue about most groups all you want. One extremely powerful group is not coy about their desire for world dominance. One group claims their desire for world dominance in unambiguous language, many times, in many places, and I am still aghast that most Americans are unaware of this group and their views. Here is a quote from their website:
"We aim to make the case and rally support for American global leadership."
Duh, who wants to take over the world?
http://www.newamericancentury.org/statementofprinciples.htm
And here are some of the folks who are signing members of this group, doing the signing proudly in a way like it is a equivalent to the Declaration of Independence. Each is unaware of the shame it will bring them historically, that That signing this is the antithesis to all America stands for. But here are some of the Hancocks on this document:
*** Cheney (yes, listed as ***!)
Donald Rumsfeld, our fearless military strategist
Paul Wolfowitz, corrupt money-mongering hypocrite
Jeb Bush, wannabe constitutional manipulator
Steve Forbes, alien
Lewis Libby, convicted felon
Dan Quayle, convicted genius and poor speller
So you right-wingers. Don''t attack this post. Go read about the New American Century and think about how that really plays out with your American values of freedom and democracy. Yes, I''m asking maybe too much here: read, think. - Reply to this comment

It doesn"t make Ron Paul an anti-Semite, that he isn"t riding around in the hip pocket of the Israel Lobby, like John Boehner, who defied the White House by voting for it.
Casual and reckless use of the term anti-Semite to win petty arguments, robs it of its historical force, and reduces it to a mere blood libel. - Reply to this comment

Re: "Here is the proof that radical elements in Islam desire world dominance."
All that this article "proves" is that tens of billoins of U.S. tax dollars each year, spent on "psy-ops" and other "intelligence" operations, can buy a whole lot of *********.
Their grand bet- that the American public were gullible enough to fall for it- has paid off handsomely, so far, but will they be able to maintain this dark fantasy?
Dont count on it.

- Pigramsprog, listen to Israel National Radio to see the orthodoxy of Abraham introduced monotheism, upon which islam stands. The moslems are against the state of israel, not her jews. The jews, as well as early christians and hindis, handled both internal and external trades for the Caliphates ... for at least 700 years. Your sense of lumping Israel in the anti arab camp is more a problem between secular jews and arabs rather than orthodox jews and moslems.
