"I'm not someone who likes to be in the whole Hollywood tabloids," she said. "I'm not someone who wants to go clubbing. I don't drink, I don't smoke, so a lot of it has to do with that, too. My mom doesn't drink or smoke, so just growing up, I feel like I can have fun without doing that and ice my personal choice."
She might be keeping it clean, but Tisdale is growing up. For a time, at least, she is leaving the halls of "High School Musical" to strike out on her own.
Her video for "Not Like That" has already had 2.5 million hits on YouTube.com and she has embarked on a mall tour to promote her new album, "Headstrong," which she said is an appropriate title for her first solo project.
"In the process of making the album I realized I definitely was headstrong," she said.
Tisdale wrote many of the songs on the album, some of which are personal, she said.Photos: "High School Musical" Mania
"There's been a couple breakups, a couple jealousies, like high school, girls jealous, so I kind of wrote three songs on the album that were definitely personal to me," she said.
Where ever she goes, Tisdale, 22, draws a crowd. One security guard at a Nashville mall said that she was bigger than Christmas, which she thought was a little weird. Nonetheless, she's pleased by how things have been going.
"It was amazing," she said. "I thought there was only going to be like 100 kids. It was 3,200. I just couldn't believe it. I'm used to being in a group of six for 'High School Musical' so just seeing fans, it was awesome."
Meanwhile, Tisdale is also releasing a DVD called "There's Something About Ashley," which is the story of her secret life. She also says expect to see a third "High School Musical," which is currently in negotiations.
"I definitely want to do it," Tisdale said.

- She doesn''t drink, smoke, or do drugs (actually, she didn''t say anything about drugs)... yet! Brit Brit wasn''t a complete disaster at her age, either.
