(WebMD)  Viagra and other impotence drugs are about to bear new warnings that users may experience sudden hearing loss.

It's not clear that the drugs truly trigger hearing loss, but the Food and Drug Administration decided Thursday to add a warning about the possible risk after counting 29 reports of the problem since 1996 among users of this family of medicines.

The impotence drugs Viagra, Cialis and Levitra will bear the warnings. So will Revatio, a drug for pulmonary hypertension, which contains the same ingredient as Viagra.

Viagra's label already mentioned hearing loss as a possibility, because a few cases were reported during initial testing of that drug. But given that hearing loss is a risk of advancing age and certain conditions, such as diabetes and heart disease, that can lead to impotence, it wasn't clear if the link was real.

That still isn't clear, said FDA ear nose and throat specialist Dr. Robert Boucher.

But in poring over FDA's database of possible drug reactions, what struck him was these 29 reports said the hearing loss occurred without hours to two days of taking one of the drugs.

“We don't know enough to say that it's ironclad caused by the drugs, but we see enough to say we can't ignore it either,” he said.

The reports involve hearing loss in one ear, which in a third of cases was temporary.

FDA urged patients who experience any hearing problems - loss or ringing in the ears - to promptly call their doctors and stop taking the impotence drugs.

Viagra is so overused.........Men would kill to prove their manhood by taking this medication just to be more "manly" and lengthen their sexual experience. That kind of *** is really overrated.

Guys, this can really work in our favor.
We can bang away and tell the wife we really did not hear her when she said to take out the garbage.

If you suffer from "Sudden Hearing Loss" (SHL) syndrome, ask your doctor if Viagra is NOT right for you.

As a 56 year old life long vegetarian, I can offer this up...the lack of animal fat clogging big arteries is great for living, and not having the small ones clogged is great for loving! To Hell with pills that do what you can do on your own. Save your ears for my 1 of a kind vegan music--I call it food for the soul! 1 of a kind stuff with humor and a great beat! Where???? @

"I''''d rather go deaf than go limp!!!"

-Interesting, I''d rather go limp than deaf. Maybe I''d eat my words if I became impotent? lol

My wife would [jokingly] say that after ***, I tend to not pay attention to her, because I have gotten what I wanted. Now I ask you, are guys that way?

There is a risk of eye problems with this class of drugs also. If you can''t see or hear your wife, you just may be able to have sexx with her again without these medications. What a conundrum!!!!

Well, I took so much Vigra that I lost my hearing. Got a hearing aid and can hear good now. I was telling a friend about my new hearing aid. He asked what kind is it? I said it''s 3:30

HOORAY! LARRY CRAIG NOW HAS A NEW DEFENSE FOR HIS UPCOMING APPEAL!

...He thought he said "Not Guilty", when he actually said "guilty" to the judge, (but he couldn''t hear himself speak)!

So he could use that as a defense, but that would only implicate him on where and when he took the said Viagra pills. (Inside the infamous "stalls of justice").

Here we go again, more Big Pharma junk. Their sole aim being to cash in whatever the net result their poisons may cause.

All senior executives of Big Pharma should be locked up in a room and made to personally test every piece of junk they create, I can''t think of a better way of protecting the sick because the FDA will not.
