"We've ensured that she is safe and that she is well. We've ensured that she did not suffer as a victim at the hands of that perpetrator, as did that little girl," Nye County sheriff's detective David Boruchowitz said on CBS News' The Early Show.
The younger girl still has not been found. The second girl is estimated to between 10 and 12 years old.
"We did confirm that she is a resident here, although, as far as we can tell, she has no ties to that little girl," Boruchowitz told co-anchor Harry Smith.
"It appears to be some kind of peep show" of the older girl, Boruchowitz said earlier.
Authorities are still searching for the younger girl and the man in the videotape.
"We have no idea where he's from, where she's from, and no idea who they are or where they are," Boruchowitz said earlier in the week.
The tape, a little longer than 30 minutes, clearly shows the adult man performing criminal sexual acts that Boruchowitz said included rape, "everything else, and then some."
"There is nothing in her eyes. It's like her soul has been taken, her spirit has been taken," Sheriff Tony DeMeo said. "We want to find this girl. I know everybody else out there wants to find this girl."

"This poor little girl, she's probably going to be going through - well, she obviously has been through hell," Ed Smart, whose daughter Elizabeth was abducted in 2002, said on CBS News' The Early Show. Elizabeth Smart was found nine months later, and her kidnappers arrested. Smart hopes this little girl will be found, too.
"I know that somebody out there knows where she is or something about her and can help identify her," he told Smith. "And it's just critical that we find her."
The older girl did not appear to have been sexually abused on the tape and the footage appeared to have been shot from a different room, Boruchowitz said.
Investigators are also examining whether the two segments were filmed with the same video camera, he said.
A 26-year-old Pahrump man, Darren Tuck, surrendered the tape to Nye County sheriff's investigators Sept. 8, after another man reported seeing it, Boruchowitz said.
Tuck told detectives he found the videotape in the desert outside Pahrump more than five months ago, although Boruchowitz said the tape didn't appear to have been exposed to weather or elements.
Boruchowitz said investigators don't think Tuck made the tape. Tuck was arrested Sept. 19 on charges of promoting child pornography and possession of child pornography, felonies. The top charge carries a possible sentence of up to life in prison.
Tuck was released without bail, pending arraignment Nov. 26 in Pahrump Justice Court, a court official said.
"Right now, my understanding is he's cooperating with the district attorney's office," Boruchowitz said on The Early Show. "At the time of the investigation, he chose not to talk with us any further once he gave us his initial story."
Pahrump is a small town 60 miles west of Las Vegas.

- I think it is terrible. However, we have got to seek ways to prevent this from continuing to happen. Each time a child is abused, there is a possibility that they could become an abuser as well. The cycle continues. I would like to see congress dedicate some funding to healing those victims and a major media campaign. God gave me STOP: Sexual Predators (Start Telling Other People). Everyone get involved and tell about this shameful secret, expose the demon. I also support life in prison or a stiffer penalty when found guility.

Our court system and judges are a joke. They just set the dangerous free to prey on us.
With a lot of talk about worthless rehab that only makes money for worthless therapists and psychiatrists that have no clue as to how to cure these people.

- laney2015 the girl most likely is not missing most likely her mother a drug addict and farmed her out to the man for cash and or drugs. It happened to a lady friend of mine in the 80''s the results are devastating. God PLEASE help us find this child. We need to kill this monster.

- Im torn apart by this act of human torture. Truely discusting. However, This little girl looks alot like Madaline and that freaking perve looks like the guy who kidnapped her. Wondering if its possiable to be her? I pray to GOD that her where abouts are relinguished. Also, Without a dougbt there''s more girls in captivity and i think more then one PERV.

crzmeat - thanks, but I have only done what I need to do and what I need to do for my child to survive and grow into a stable, well adjusted adult. Through all the adversity, we have overcome somehow. It takes a lot of strength and a lot of counseling. I don''t think that either of us will ever be out of counseling. No parent can ever imagine what it''s like to know your child has had this happen. The anger will never go away and stories like this one make it rise to the surface. I cried myself to sleep last night praying for this little girl and remembering what happened to my child. Every parent''s worst nightmare. Unimaginable. I have a well adjsuted child now considering what has occured and I am grateful every day that my child rises above all that has happened. I think the person that deserves the kudos the most is my child. I wasn''t the one that had to go through it. I just had to be the support. - Reply to this comment
