Cops Looking For Little Girl On Sex Tape

Second, Older, Girl Identified; Public's Help Sought In Finding 4-5-Year-Old

(CBS/AP)  Nevada authorities have identified the second girl found on a videotape that shows sex acts by a man on a girl around 4 or 5 years old.

"We've ensured that she is safe and that she is well. We've ensured that she did not suffer as a victim at the hands of that perpetrator, as did that little girl," Nye County sheriff's detective David Boruchowitz said on CBS News' The Early Show.

The younger girl still has not been found. The second girl is estimated to between 10 and 12 years old.

"We did confirm that she is a resident here, although, as far as we can tell, she has no ties to that little girl," Boruchowitz told co-anchor Harry Smith.

"It appears to be some kind of peep show" of the older girl, Boruchowitz said earlier.

Authorities are still searching for the younger girl and the man in the videotape.

"We have no idea where he's from, where she's from, and no idea who they are or where they are," Boruchowitz said earlier in the week.

The tape, a little longer than 30 minutes, clearly shows the adult man performing criminal sexual acts that Boruchowitz said included rape, "everything else, and then some."

"There is nothing in her eyes. It's like her soul has been taken, her spirit has been taken," Sheriff Tony DeMeo said. "We want to find this girl. I know everybody else out there wants to find this girl."

"This poor little girl, she's probably going to be going through - well, she obviously has been through hell," Ed Smart, whose daughter Elizabeth was abducted in 2002, said on CBS News' The Early Show. He is now part of an organization called The Surviving Parents Coalition.

Elizabeth Smart was found nine months later, and her kidnappers arrested. Smart hopes this little girl will be found, too.

"I know that somebody out there knows where she is or something about her and can help identify her," he told Smith. "And it's just critical that we find her."

The older girl did not appear to have been sexually abused on the tape and the footage appeared to have been shot from a different room, Boruchowitz said.

Investigators are also examining whether the two segments were filmed with the same video camera, he said.

A 26-year-old Pahrump man, Darren Tuck, surrendered the tape to Nye County sheriff's investigators Sept. 8, after another man reported seeing it, Boruchowitz said.

Tuck told detectives he found the videotape in the desert outside Pahrump more than five months ago, although Boruchowitz said the tape didn't appear to have been exposed to weather or elements.

Boruchowitz said investigators don't think Tuck made the tape. Tuck was arrested Sept. 19 on charges of promoting child pornography and possession of child pornography, felonies. The top charge carries a possible sentence of up to life in prison.

Tuck was released without bail, pending arraignment Nov. 26 in Pahrump Justice Court, a court official said.

"Right now, my understanding is he's cooperating with the district attorney's office," Boruchowitz said on The Early Show. "At the time of the investigation, he chose not to talk with us any further once he gave us his initial story."

Pahrump is a small town 60 miles west of Las Vegas.

My fear is, now that you have shown that this child and predator are on video and released to the public, the child may be in greater danger. I wish these people that (where the parents are of these children )to GROW UP. The man in the film may and can be her parent. Some of these children are adopted from Russia or other foreign countries where the rules are not as strict as ours and these predators can take a child and so whatever they want. I think it would be wise if cbsnews.com and other reputable news sites posted pictures of a number of these children EVERY DAY that policemen are trying to find. Not only would it allow communities to help identify victims, it would act as a deterrent for pornographers if they know that a picture of the child they''re abusing may end up in an online news site for all the world to see (the decent part of the world).

You need serious mental help if you think childrn are a burden. Sure some people (like yourself) should not have kids and do see them as burdens, but normal people (such as myself and a LARGE majority of parents) KNOW that children ARE a gift. I consider my 3 kids a gift from GOD, but not everyone believes in HIM, which is fine. None the less, like I said, MOST parents consider their kids gifts and a blessing. SHAME ON YOU!!! I''m relieved the FBI & Homeland Security volunteers are in on this case. What''s been done to this little girl is beyond horrific. Showing the nation it will not be tolerated and we will do everything in our power to protect children against this/prosecute it makes me proud of my fellow citizens.

Something I noticed though, as much media attention as this has received, no guardian, school, family or parent has come forward. Pahrump is home/close to several of Nevadas'' legal brothels. Heidi Fleiss even lives around that part of Nevada. I have to wonder if these were checked to see if any one of these ladies knows someone who has a little girl with this description, or has seen either the child or the suspect at some point, maybe knows someone who was turned down for a job at one of the brothels who may have resembled this little girl in adult version? Anything at all. I hope someone comes forward with information on this child. The press releases say she appears to have been a long time victim. This could be why no one has come forward yet.

I pray everyone does all they can/gives as much information as they can to find her.

I agree with the other poster... you need some mental help. You need to grow a heart. this a story about a poor little girl and you post how children are a burden. No people who think like you are a burden to this world... Kids are the greatest gift there is. Well this is not about you it is about a sweet little girl, who needs everyones help to find her and get her out of the hell she is now living in..

Most likely the perpetrator is a relative of the girl or a "friend" of her mother''s or whoever her caretaker is. Hopefully this child will be identified and removed from the situation. As an aside, I am always baffled by what the national news considers worthy of reporting, and what they don''t.
