    Learn how you can live in a more environmentally conscious way.

(CBS/AP)  Wal-Mart says it will sell only concentrated liquid laundry detergent, a move that the retail giant says will save millions of pounds of packaging per year.

“People expect businesses to step up and work together to help solve the big challenges facing the world,” said Lee Scott, president and CEO of Wal-Mart Stores, as he announced the new corporate policy.

The Arkansas-based retailer has begun putting an emphasis on sustainability as a way to be environmentally friendly and to cut its costs, pushing the sale of energy efficient compact fluorescent light bulbs, reducing product packaging and adding more organic items to its inventory.

The concentrated liquid detergent is to be on all shelves at Wal-Mart and Sam's Club stores by next May. Stores in the South are to get the smaller liquid detergent containers starting next month, and the rollout will continue by region. The company said it expects to sell 800 million of the concentrated units over the coming three years.

Wal-Mart says it sells 25 percent of liquid laundry detergent in the country and that its effort will save 400 million gallons of water, 95 million pounds of plastic and 125 million pounds of cardboard. The company will also see fuel savings by having less mass to transport.

Wal-Mart said it has been working with its suppliers and will use advertising and store displays to explain the change to customers.

Ron Paul has it all.

**** TAKE AMERICA BACK ****
**** STOP THE WAR & Corporate Corruption****

He has NEVER voted:
* to raise taxes
* for an unbalanced budget
* to raise congressional pay
* for a federal restriction on gun ownership
* to increase the power of the executive branch

He HAS voted:
* against the Iraq war
* against the inappropriately named USA PATRIOT act
* against regulating the internet
* against the Military Commissions Act

He will eliminate the IRS, Wasteful Government Spending & Stop The Iraq War Immediately!

Most importantly, he voted NO on anything in Congress that is not allowed by the Constitution.

He is the only candidate not a member of the CFR!

Shouldn''t ALL members of Congress uphold the Constitution? Aren''t they SWORN to uphold it? You can bet Paul WON''T call the Constitution "just a G**D***ed piece of paper" like George Bush is reported to have.

If you want a candidate you can TRUST due to a proven track record, visit www.ronpaul2008.com and get busy spreading the word. The Mainstream Media is Blacking Out The Truth Spoke By Ron Paul!

Re: "Wal-Mart Concentrates On Going Green"

Check out that wall of poison in the photograph!

The best "Green" policiy that the econo-terrorists of Wal-Mart could possibly implement, is to close their doors!

Wal-Mart could care less about the enviroment. What they care about is there profits and not sharing with their employees. I bet Lee Scott wants to save them money, so he can keep collecting his $14265.64 hour. Wow thats $237.76 every minute. Makes me sick.

Wouldn''t it be better to make the products near where you are selling it, so that you save the transport costs? It saves nothing if you make a green product, then haul it half way around the world!
