(CBS)  This week on Face The Nation Sen. Carl Levin, D-Mich., tells Bob Schieffer that the U.S. cannot afford to continue its present course in Iraq and that the troop surge was a complete failure.

Sen. Jon Kyl, R-Ariz., warns that premature withdrawal of U.S. troops in Iraq would have disastrous consequences.

Thomas Ricks, the military correspondent for The Washington Post, tells Bob Schieffer that all policy options in Iraq carry the risk of extremely dangerous consequences.

Bob Schieffer says that differing opinions on policy in Iraq will not matter until the Iraqi government stabilizes.
