The Democratic Senator from New York and former first lady sets her sights on the White House.

(AP)  Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani denounced Democratic rival Hillary Rodham Clinton on Wednesday for challenging the Capitol Hill testimony of the top U.S. military commander in Iraq.

"Hillary Clinton, questioning Gen. (David) Petraeus, said you had to suspend disbelief," Giuliani said after a brief campaign stop at an Akron restaurant. "Why would you say that about an American general?"

The New York senator appeared skeptical Tuesday of the positive spin Petraeus put on improvements in Iraq, saying, "The reports that you provide to us really require the willing suspension of disbelief."

Giuliani said Petraeus was doing "the best that he can." He also criticized the liberal anti-war group MoveOn.org for running newspaper advertisements that asked "General Petraeus or General Betray Us?"

"I can't imagine why we can't get beyond maligning other people's motives nowadays in politics," said Giuliani, a former New York City mayor.

"There is no reason to do what MoveOn.org or Hillary Clinton have done - which is to make personal attacks on the general."

Giuliani had a private fundraising event arranged in Akron but no details were disclosed by his campaign staff.

He arrived in Ohio - expected to again be a key political battleground in 2008 after clinching President Bush's 2004 re-election - following a fundraiser earlier in the day in Morgantown, W.Va. He was to travel to Canonsburg, Pa., and Bluffton, S.C., after the Akron visit.

No current or prospective military member should ever want to serve under Hillary Clinton as Commander In Chief. Wasn''t it Hillary and Bill Clinton who said they loathed the military? And wasn''t it Hillary who would not let a service member enter the White House while in military uniform when she was first lady? If you believe the military is broken now, just consider the consequence if Hillary is Commander in Chief. We most certainly would have to return to conscrpition (The Draft)to have any army. Too bad Hillary doesn''t have the back bone, courage, honesty, and integrity of some one like General Petraeus.

General Pet thinks he is the next Eisenhower. - Didn''t he have the job of training the Iraqi Army and Security forces ? Where are they ? - Wasn''t there a GAO Report about 190,000 missing weapons under his watch ? Where are they ?

It is not about Rudy or Hillary - General Pet is the one that turned his position into a political one. Even Admiral Fallon saw it when he called him a "a s s k i s s e r" !

so they can get off the hook for the WORST President in US History.

C''mon, Bush is a crappy president, but worst of all time? You''d have to out-duel Hoover, Carter, and Ford to do that. And we have lost 3700 servicemen and women in Iraq, that''s true. We also lost 200 times that having a war with OURSELVES!

On the good side, folks, only 16 months left and we''re still here.

UNBELIEVABLE you democrats believe what Katie Couric or Hillary Clinton say about the War in Iraq over a 4-star general who has ACTUALLY BEEN to Iraq. Talk about stupid! You Democrats want to launch personal personal against Rudy''''s love life? Let''''s not even go into Hillary''''s love life with Slick Willy! The left is definitely in LALA land. Put down the joint for a second and open up your eyes to the fact that American troops and the Iraqi people need our support! Stop being so disrespectful to the men and women in uniform who put their lives on the line to protect the liberties that we ALL take for granted!

It''s almost funny watching the Nazi''s try to come up with some wedge issue, some hatred out there so they can get off the hook for the WORST President in US History. To back the Space Cadet Bush and then attack the Senator is just about as rediculous as ignoring the American People''s voice. The Republican Party is headed for a train wreck of their OWN making and trying to shift Blame, as they always do, is not likely to work... not this time.

After years of ''manhandling'' the women in his life, Rudy seems to want to pick on Hillary in this presidential election. He is picking on the wrong woman. This is the last battle he will fight and by this time next year he will also be another also ran candidate. Fire fighters and other firsttime responders in New York City sees mayor rude for who he is; women are also finding his tactic demeaning; and the nation will tell him soon where to get off.

The Real Reason We''re In Iraq:

An influential group of conservatives convinced President George W. Bush that it was in America''s best interests to conquer Iraq as a first step toward dominating the oil-producing nations in the Middle East. There was no "exit plan" because we never intended to exit. The plan was, and is, to build military bases in Iraq and stay there forever. Our leaders see Iraq as a place to make money. So Bush & Co. have set up their friends to cash in on the rebuilding of Iraq.

Rudy is being pretty lame. Clinton''s observation, while subjective, was NOT a personal attack.

Rudy''s the one acting juvenile, at best. He''s not saying anything of any merit, just more ramblings from an empty suit.

It is sad, though, that you besmirch honorable veterans by telling your LIES under the guise of their honor. You are not honorable.

Oh, fuzi. He is just repeating Rush. Rush lies all of the time, and then all of the ditto-heads repeat it as fact. I was listening to Rush after 9/11 and he was foaming at the mouth about Hillary not attending any of the funerals of the fallen firefighters or police officers. I had just been watching the news earlier, and Hillary and Chelsea had attended two that morning. So, when people insist on just listening and believing what they want to, you just can''t worry about it.

In 2004, Patreaus echoed Bush in stating that things were really improving in Iraq and he could see positive signs in all the neighborhoods. It was his boss''s line and it served him well to stick to it and then to slowly recede into the shadows as he later was handpicked by Bush for the surge.

I don''t blame Bush or Patreaus--both acted according to their nature and the script. You don''t get to be general by contradicting or going against the superior officers.

I actually blame Congress, for placing the onus of impartiality on a man who cannot afford to be and never has been impartial. is Patreaus a yes man--no. He''s Bush''s yes man and that is different. He knows what side his bread is buttered on. He knew it in 2004, when people were dying in droves not only from bombs but from dysentary, no sanitation and no fuel or little to no electricity and he knows it now. Admitting to failure is not an option for Patreaus. If every single Iraqi were to die, Patreaus would point at the land and the sky and remark on the bright and beautiful day. Hey--he takes his fuzzies where he can--the point is: WHY did Congress agree that a report from a Bush kiss azz would be accepted as proof positive one way or the other? That is their OWN fault. This point goes to Bush.

Mr. Bowers, I think it rather telling that you must resort to outright LIES while claiming to be a veteran of our military and demanding "honesty and integrity" which you fail to exhibit yourself. You should be ashamed. What''s wrong? Is this just proof that the GOP is ready yet again to LIE and DECEIVE to get and retain power? The telling and retelling lies in the hopes of them becoming true are over, dude. We''re on to you. It is sad, though, that you besmirch honorable veterans by telling your LIES under the guise of their honor. You are not honorable.

General Petraeus should be questioned by all tax paying americans. Petraeus would not be the first 4 star general put on the spot by Bush. The last one went before the U.N. with fabricated facts. But I don''t blame Powell or Petraeus, the buck does not stop at 4 Star Generals.

Aren''t Marines and/or other service people stationed in the White House in uniform 24 hours a day? I sincerely doubt Sen. Clinton banned military personnel from the White House.

The following comment you made was past due and so powerfully true that it struck me as being very profound. Thanks for speaking up for the rest of us in a very admirable way.

"The New York senator appeared skeptical Tuesday of the positive spin Petraeus put on improvements in Iraq, saying, "The reports that you provide to us really require the willing suspension of disbelief." "

Senator Clinton was absolutely right in her challenge to the General. His numbers are questionable the representation of his own success overstated. His myopic recommendation was incredulous a proposal that at the fundamental base does not include the United States and the safety of the United Sates as a criterion is nothing more than a formal reading of a soldiers view of his mission. The General recommendations were based on his own description based on his view of his mission and absolutely not be accepted as a creditable strategic direction our Congress should consider.

Our Nations Blood and Treasury are not to be used as band aids for political blunders.

Rudy had his ten minutes and they are over. Ah Rudy Hillary is a Senator of the United States of America and it is the civilians that set the policy in this country not Generals.

"Why would you say that about an American general?"

As in ''why would you question anyone in authority?" or ''why would you question anyone Bush put in charge?'' or ''what kind of person looks for lies and corruption in government?''. Rudy is clueless unless he is doing the pushing and manipulating.
