Giuliani Knocks Clinton's Petraeus Comment

(AP)  Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani denounced Democratic rival Hillary Rodham Clinton on Wednesday for challenging the Capitol Hill testimony of the top U.S. military commander in Iraq.

"Hillary Clinton, questioning Gen. (David) Petraeus, said you had to suspend disbelief," Giuliani said after a brief campaign stop at an Akron restaurant. "Why would you say that about an American general?"

The New York senator appeared skeptical Tuesday of the positive spin Petraeus put on improvements in Iraq, saying, "The reports that you provide to us really require the willing suspension of disbelief."

Giuliani said Petraeus was doing "the best that he can." He also criticized the liberal anti-war group MoveOn.org for running newspaper advertisements that asked "General Petraeus or General Betray Us?"

"I can't imagine why we can't get beyond maligning other people's motives nowadays in politics," said Giuliani, a former New York City mayor.

"There is no reason to do what MoveOn.org or Hillary Clinton have done - which is to make personal attacks on the general."

Giuliani had a private fundraising event arranged in Akron but no details were disclosed by his campaign staff.

He arrived in Ohio - expected to again be a key political battleground in 2008 after clinching President Bush's 2004 re-election - following a fundraiser earlier in the day in Morgantown, W.Va. He was to travel to Canonsburg, Pa., and Bluffton, S.C., after the Akron visit.

No current or prospective military member should ever want to serve under Hillary Clinton as Commander In Chief. Wasn''t it Hillary and Bill Clinton who said they loathed the military? And wasn''t it Hillary who would not let a service member enter the White House while in military uniform when she was first lady? If you believe the military is broken now, just consider the consequence if Hillary is Commander in Chief. We most certainly would have to return to conscrpition (The Draft)to have any army. Too bad Hillary doesn''t have the back bone, courage, honesty, and integrity of some one like General Petraeus.

C''mon, Bush is a crappy president, but worst of all time? You''d have to out-duel Hoover, Carter, and Ford to do that. And we have lost 3700 servicemen and women in Iraq, that''s true. We also lost 200 times that having a war with OURSELVES!

After years of ''manhandling'' the women in his life, Rudy seems to want to pick on Hillary in this presidential election. He is picking on the wrong woman. This is the last battle he will fight and by this time next year he will also be another also ran candidate. Fire fighters and other firsttime responders in New York City sees mayor rude for who he is; women are also finding his tactic demeaning; and the nation will tell him soon where to get off.

Bush that it was in America''s best interests to conquer Iraq as a first step toward dominating the oil-producing nations in the Middle East. There was no "exit plan" because we never intended to exit. The plan was, and is, to build military bases in Iraq and stay there forever. Our leaders see Iraq as a place to make money. Oh, fuzi. He is just repeating Rush. Rush lies all of the time, and then all of the ditto-heads repeat it as fact. I was listening to Rush after 9/11 and he was foaming at the mouth about Hillary not attending any of the funerals of the fallen firefighters or police officers. I had just been watching the news earlier, and Hillary and Chelsea had attended two that morning. So, when people insist on just listening and believing what they want to, you just can''t worry about it.
