(CBS/AP)  Osama bin Laden urged sympathizers to join the "caravan" of martyrs as he praised one of the Sept. 11 suicide hijackers in a new video that emerged Tuesday to mark the sixth anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon.

Al Qaeda traditionally issues a video every year on the anniversary, with the last testament of one of the 19 hijackers involved in the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks. This year's video showed hijacker Waleed al-Shehri addressing the camera and warning the U.S.: "We shall come at you from your front and back, your right and left."

U.S. officials dismissed the tape as propaganda and said they see nothing in that video or in last Friday's bin Laden tape to signal a new attack, reports CBS News correspondent Bob Orr.

The new message, which AP Television News obtained from the IntelCenter monitoring group in suburban Washington, came days after the world got its first current look at bin Laden in nearly three years, with the release of a video Saturday in which the terror leader addressed the American people.

Later in the day it appeared on militant Web sites, with a note from al-Qaeda's media production wing al-Sahab saying it was intentionally sent to television stations before being placed on the Internet.

It begins with an audiotape introduction by bin Laden. While his voice is heard, the video shows a still image of him, raising his finger. In the image, bin Laden has the same dyed-black beard and the same clothes - a white robe and cap and beige cloak - that he had in Saturday's video.

But it was not known if the audiotape was recently made. In the past, al Qaeda has used footage and audio of bin Laden taped long ago for release later.

In the tape, bin Laden praised al-Shehri, saying he "recognized the truth" that Arab rulers were "vassals" of the West and had "abandoned the balance of (Islamic) revelation."

"It is true that this young man was little in years, but the faith in his heart was big," he said.

"So there is a huge difference between the path of the kings, presidents and hypocritical Ulama (Islamic scholars) and the path of these noble young men," like al-Shehri, bin Laden said. "The formers' lot is to spoil and enjoy themselves whereas the latters' lot is to destroy themselves for Allah's Word to be Supreme."

"It remains for us to do our part. So I tell every young man among the youth of Islam: It is your duty to join the caravan (of martyrs) until the sufficiency is complete and the march to aid the High and Omnipotent continues," he said.

At the end of his speech, bin Laden also mentions the al Qaeda leader in Iraq, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, who was killed in an U.S. air strike there. Al-Zarqawi followed in the footsteps of al-Shehri and his brothers who "fulfilled their promises to God."

"And now it is our turn," bin Laden says.

After bin Laden speaks, the video of al-Shehri appears. Al-Shehri - one of the hijackers on American Airlines Flight 11, which hit the World Trade Center - is seen wearing a white robe and headscarf, with a full black beard, speaking in front of a backdrop with images of the burning World Trade Center.

"We shall come at you from your front and back, your right and left," al-Shehri said, asserting that America would suffer the same fate as the Soviet Union.

He also praised the losses the United States suffered in Somalia in late 1993.

What are we doing in Iraq? All of you, EVERYONE of you who are American LOOK at the picture in this article and TELL me again WHY ARE WE IN IRAQ. This is the man who attacked us! This is the Man who trains people to KILL us! He IS NOT in Iraq and certainly isn''t hiding out in some Cave as that INCOMPETENT bunch boobs in the Bush Administration Claim. He''s right there in front of you, producing video''s to recruit even MORE young Arabs to Kill us. How MUCH failure is enough? It should be obvious to all that as bad as our Intel has been, that''s how GOOD the enemy''s intel has been. These guys have studied Southern Fascism and KNOW their simple minded and arrogant way''s. They KNOW how to play these people and are flat out winning this thing. It''s not wrong to admit that UNTIL it has gotten to the point where you KNOW it and continue on the same path. Sieg Heil Bush!!

It really makes me wonder what would happen if Bin Laden put out a new tape and the western media did NOT air it or even report about it. I find these reports about the Bin Laden tapes so unimportant. Let the national security analysts worry about them, and let the public ignore it.

Now I am not saying that what al Queda is doing should not concern us, but do we really care about every little word that comes out of this lunatic''s mouth?

I seriously doubt controlling what we the people hear and see will do any good at this point. The FACT that he''s there and speaking is evidence enough of the Failure of our leaders.

The latest videotape, of the hijacker''s testament, had not yet been posted on extremist web sites. But IntelCenter, a monitoring group in suburban Washington, said it had obtained the 47-minute video and provided it to Associated Press Television News.

Did they obtain the hard copy? Or what?

Agreed MCVet, The guy is living in comfort quietly with all the trappings to sustain his campaign and more importantly his health. Do they want to find him ? I think not ! Without him the whole charade will collapse like a pack of cards. As for giving him any space in the media, I would totally agree, not a single column, not a ten second spot would I afford this man but there again I do not wish to see or hear GW either. The damage these two men have done to mankind is truly unforgivable and unsurpassed in historical terms, which of course includes those complicit in both regimes. The motivation behind all the slaughter is simple, it includes both Bush and Bin Laden...MONEY and POWER !

I think you will only see lucky guess videos from him at best.......Just finish off the rest of them with severity to get it over with.

Strange how insults fly from the mouths of fools with no idea how to solve a problem.

Its amusing to see how they blame Bush for it all. They find no intelligence in our militaries efforts to capture OBL, hence, they just use it as an excuse to villify Bush, whose orders have consistently told our military to find him.

The Pashtun area of Pakistan is a population of about 17 million people, while the smallest province in Pakistan, it is also the most orthodox islamic in the entire region, breeding the type of radicalism that created the Taliban to begin with, and very adept at transiting the mountainous regions and hiding.

The efforts of our military cannot pin down OBL because of the aid he is recieving from the Pashtun region.

here is the way i see it, the liberals in the US have been feeding, watering and giving money to osama by donating to his cause through different channels here in the US, thereby causing these different terrorist groups hiding here to be funded and ready to strike at any moment.
Americans should put a stop to these idiots by stopping their flow of money to their bank accounts and arresting them for treason. the liberals should let us soldiers and our leaders do their job so we can get this moron and then clean up around the globe.

Hi America! It''s your buddy Osama. I''m here in Pakastan training new meat to send at you while you dilly dally in Iraq.

I said that I would goad you into spending your treasure and bankrupt your economy, and, so far so good! So keep fighting my buck privates in Anbar province(which the Sunnis are now willing to do themselves) and while you and Musharif pretend to be looking for me I''ll keep running training camps visible from the air and holding outdoor graduation ceremonies and sending you the tapes.

As alwways, death to America.

I''m sick of people in the media, trying to blame everything on "liberal" or "conservatives". We''re AMERICANS!
One of the last people wrote
"liberals in the US have been feeding, watering and giving money to osama by donating to his cause through different channels here in the US, thereby causing these different terrorist groups hiding here to be funded and ready to strike at any moment"
Give me a break! We''re ALL filtering money over there, every time we fill our gas tanks, where do you think at least some of the profits are going.
To blame "liberals" is just a regurgitation of what we''re hearing from the politicians.
Check out how many companies in this country are OWNED by interests in the middle east.
Check out the website divestterror.org and see how some of our state pension plans are invested in companies that support these criminals over there.
It''s just not so simple as to blame LIBERALS. Thats just short sighted, IMHO. By the way, I vote on the record of the individual, not whether or not they are a Democrat or a Republican.

Could it be the Bin Laden tape was fabricated by the Bush administration to support their Iraq war causes?? There are too many things in the tape to suspect it to be fabricated by the CIA. Bin Ladens beard change, Clips timing (release just before Gen Petraus report) all make it suspicious. The Bush war machine will use any type of propaganda to justify their position. Tis country uses propaganda, worse than that used by the axis powers of WW II. I Question the tape because it was obtained by the US Government.

When do we stop as Americans and get it through our thick heads, united and as a country, that we were attacked by fanatics in 2001, thousands of our people killed, our planes stolen, two of our major buildings destroyed?

The worst part is, these psychos laughed at what they did, and are in a big way still very much in charge of the situation. Are we going to ''liberal'' ourselves to death, or are we going to snap out of it and understand that the only way these people are going to stop coming at us is if they are too crippled to do so? Are we going to realize this, or have our awakening when they''re outside our homes, demanding we come out and declare our faith.

The problem with too many Americans right now is the belief that the above is fantasy fiction.

The covert Bushies provided Osama bin Laden with billions of dollars and terrorist training.

If Bush was serious about declaring war on terrorism he would be dropping bombs on his intelligence agencies. That''s what they are trained to do. At least you would expect a leader to declare a moratorium on their own state-sponsored terrorism. Bush has not done so. Quite the opposite, in fact, according to the Golden Domed mosque - and much more.

I''d say about 28% of Americans prefer fiction over reality. Hence the fools that still support Bush and the war in Iraq.

I find it amusing that even after all this time and all the negative results, somehow people still try and present the policies of the Bush administration as sensible and even necessary.

dsmoore11b3x is definitely smoking the poppies that binLaden is cultivating. 6+ years of Republican totalitarian rule and he is brain dead enough to think the liberals are funding terrorism? Bush''s campaign contributors are the recipient of this blood money.

Wake up buddy ... who trots out binLaden before every election to infuse fear in his christian base? Here comes the infidels to rape and kill your women and children and the yokels flock to Bush Inc. for protection. Don''t you find it strange that once again binLaden appears right before discussions concerning the surge. BinLaden knows he has a friend in Bush .. they are joined together .. without each other they are both just two miserable failures.

alQaeda and binLaden are no true threat to any ones way of life. They are minor impediments used by Rove and Cheney to get Republicans elected and gut Constitutional checks and balances. They have the ability to disrupt, but no ability to actually rule. They are more effective killing unarmed women and children than soldiers. They are the bogeymen that the Republicans have put in our closet. The sooner we see them for the minor threat they truly are the sooner they lose their significance.

the only complaint that i see is that these sissy liberals don''t have their way any more. they are so afraid to lose any kind of power to a conservative led country that they will imagine anything, such as Bush and bin laden being buddies. the way i see it is that you liberal idiots really want that to happen so you can see the downfall of our country to extreme muslim rule.
to all of you sissy liberals- put up or shut up. do something about it and quit smoking your dope and be a patriot. serve your country and join the armed forces to actually have a right to complain. until you have been there and done that, you aren''t worth anything.

Dear Everyone,
Here today is a word for your encouragement. Where was God on Sept 11th? He was glued to the TV set to the horror that was unfolding. His heart was breaking to the scenes that where taking place. He was unable to force what man should do in his decisions. He is open to the hearts that respond to the truth that they are loved. He is opened to the people wanting His will. There are some who want there own will and you see where that gets us a 911!

We can not win a war fighting the enemy in such a "cautious" manner as to not to disrupt their civilian population. How many wars have been fought that we''ve won where we try to do what is politically correct? Korea, Vietnam, and now the Middle East (Iraq)? The people in these countries must stand up and say enough! It has to happen from within. If this does not happen, then we should use whatever means are available and really fight with the enemy.

We could have rebuilt Iraq with the money we have spent of this war. Let''s do the job, forget about politically correct tactics and fight the war. Quit playing cat and mouse with the cowards who call themselves leaders within "I''m Coward"...Al Queda. Let''s start our own "holy jihad."

Talk about not seeing the forest for the trees...what is the fixation on "killing" this one man? As if that will solve all of our foreign policy problems? We''d better step back and examine the forces that created bin Laden and figure out what institutional changes we need to make to prevent this from happening again in the future. Not to do so is like asking the surgeon to make a house call to the beach to remove your skin cancer. Can''t waste valuable tanning time sitting in some doctor''s office!

No, by all means let''s continue to interfere with the autonomy of nations who have resources we desire to control, create oppressive dictatorships that will collaborate with us in raping the land, and then scratch our heads when the oppressed citizens decide to fight back. Geez, could we try being dumber?

this country has become so weak because of bleeding hearts. look what we did during WWII, we took any and all of the japanese and isolted them for the duration. we should do that to all middle eastern people here and weed them out by any means to get significant intel on the terrorists living here, for the duration. if that offends you, then grow some hair and be real. this country is a wastleand because of you people. we need real american patriots to run and live here, not some moron who will never serve his/her country and complain all the time about human rights and other bs and want to draw from the government you all hate.

Why do the rantings of Osama Bin Laden sound so similar to the rantings of left-wing politicians and activists? Really, it''s hard to tell the difference between the terrorists and Harry Reid, nancy Pelosi, etc. And when you throw the REAL whack-jobs (Moveon.org, etc.) into the equation, their comments are indistinguishable from Bin Laden''s. Exept for wanting to convert us to Islam. The liberals want to convert us to secularism. Same anti-American rhetoric, though.

A very simple formula - this Bin Laden nutcase is craving worldwide attention, it makes him feel important - the simple formula is to simply stop paying so much attention. The minute he babbles out anything, the media jumps into action posting worldwide and giving him importance. I think that most of the world is sick and tired of listening to this psycho''s ranting and rambling anyway and on the flip side when he does rant about anything at all, the media sees a chance at big popularity by posting it. RECENT AND PAST REFERENCES TO AL-QAEDA, BY THIS ADMINISTRATION IS CONFUSING TO SAY THE LEAST.

OSAMA bin Laden, IS A NON ISSUE

bin LADEN IS NO THREAT TO THE UNITED STATES

BIN LADEN IS IMPOTENT

WE ARE SAFER, BUT NOT SAFE..

WHAT IS IT? ARE WE SAFER, OR ARE WE SAFE. WHY ARE WE SPENDING BILLIONS SEARCHING FOR A MAN THAT IS IMPOTENT.

EVERY TIME THE MANS NAME IS MENTION, WHY DO WE SHUTTER AT THE FACT THAT HE IS STILL ALIVE 6 YEARS AFTER THE ATTACKS?

WHY IS HE STILL ALIVE SIX YEARS AFTER THE ATTACKS?

Mike71067,

We were provided the "translation" of his remarks by the administration. Do you really believe that Osama, if he is alive follows our morgage market and differentiates between democrats and republicans? We''re all infidels to him! The language itself and the timing are a dead giveaway, as they were the Friday before the 2004 election. We can expect another tape the friday before the 2008 election and next spring/summer when the troop drawdowns in Iraq need to be "rethought" because the Iraqis aren''t ready.

Navy retired 2 is on to something. Whether Bin Laden is dead or alive, Al Zawari is the chief operational figure at this point. Intelligence analyst have theorized recently that Bin Laden has a large contingent of well-armed guards protecting his perimeter. They believe that Al Zawari is less well protected. We need to get Al Z first and then see if OBL comes out of the woodwork.

jscribe58,

You need to snap out of it! While Bush is busy "nation-building" in Iraq Al Quaeda is plottng away in Pakastan! When are you righties going to stop ******** about liberals and do something about it!

OBL is not the problem, otherwise Bush would have secured the borders 6 years ago. The problem in Iraq is that the Sunis, Shia and Kurds all want the oil revenues. The first official act of the US appointed Iraqi Prime Minister was to negotiate lease contracts with ROYAL DUTCH SHELL OIL they are the problem. The Iraqi government gets lease payments not oil profit revenues .As for OBL Bush & Cheney could care less their mission was accomplished for BIG OIL and the PNAC and their laughing all the way to the bank!

I have not really been into this whole thing but I just had a vision that Bin Laden may be using this tatic to make us weak by using up our military forces and US $$$ with this war....then attack us. Isn''t that a tactic that has always been used in small and big battels of all types?
