Camille Cleverley, 22, has been missing since Aug. 30. A body matching the description of the blonde, blue-eyed woman was found at the base of a 200-foot cliff east of Bridal Veil Falls in Provo Canyon, said Lt. Yvette Rice of the Utah County Sheriff's Department.
The body was being carried down from the canyon Sunday evening. An autopsy would be conducted to both confirm the woman was Cleverley.
Provo police Capt. Cliff Argyle said the woman's body had injuries consistent with a fall, but it was too early to rule out foul play.
"How she ended up there, we're not sure," Argyle said.
Authorities had been searching mountain trails and the Provo River for Cleverly, believing she may have parked her bike and hiked one of the many trails leading into the Wasatch Mountains. A bicycle believed to be hers was stolen from a bike rack near the popular hiking spot last Sunday and turned over to police.
Search and rescue crews and hundreds of volunteers then focused on areas around the 607-foot waterfall. Searchers spotted the body Sunday afternoon, and Rice said the clothing matched the description Cleverley's family had given investigators.
Cleverley was scheduled to start her senior year on Sept. 4. The day after she disappeared, her debit card was used to buy doughnuts and fruit drinks at a Provo store, but investigators had no other clues to go on until the bike was found.
Police also gave her boyfriend a lie-detector test, which he volunteered to take and passed, although an FBI regional supervisor was to review the polygraph results.
Provo, home to BYU, is about 40 miles south of Salt Lake City.

- Lars008,
I''m pretty sure that toldyouso21 wasn''t getting their "panties in a bunch" over an extreme need to know what they meant by "And autopsy would be conducted to both confirm the woman was Cleverly". We all know what CBS MEANT to say, but they f-ed up the sentence grammatically. Either that or whoever typed it up momentarily zoned out and didn''t completely type the sentence. That''s all. Grammatical errors, ESPECIALLY in a supposedly professional article, are ridiculously irritating. I''m not saying I could do any better, but that''s why I''m not a journalist. :) - Reply to this comment
- Toldyouso21 is right! That irritates me, too. Don''t they proofread these articles before they post? Sadly, the majority of the articles CBS writes have typos, misspellings, and grammatical errors. I know it shouldn''t seem like a big deal, it''s just writing, right? But that makes me wonder what kind of people we''re relying on to inform us of what''s going on in the world! I''m sure they are pressed for time, but it really affects the way I see CBS, professionally. I think it makes them sound like nothing more than random citizens posting myspace blogs.

- Have done novice mountain climbing when you look down you super careful trust me you know you don''t bounce. A young healthy woman wouldn''t fall unless helped. Jumping into rocks is not the way for an easy way out. I smell foul play don''t know enough facts. This has been tried before. A young healthy woman on a bike wouldn''t take such risk.

That bit of evidence points towards possible foul play. Maybe someone robbed her and stole her purse then pushed her over the cliff. No witnesses and they got the money. Dead people rarely use their own debit cards. So how did someone get them? At least who ever had them (if they were stolen from her or her bike) should be charged with theft and failing to render aid or report an accident. Come on cops--let''s try a little thinking here. - Reply to this comment

BOTH CONFIRM...AND ALSO WHAT???? THE WORD "BOTH" MEANS AT LEAST -TWO- so where is the other thing the autopsy should do? lately, many reports seem to be written by illiterate FORNICATORS OF ENGLISH SENTENCE STRUCTURE. - Reply to this comment
