(CBS)  A former "Beverly Hills: 90210" star, a Spice Girl, and a Las Vegas legend were among the contestants when this season's "Dancing With The Stars" cast was announced Wednesday on "Good Morning America."

Host Tom Bergeron, judge Carrie Ann Inaba and last season's winner, Apolo Anton Ohno, were on hand to announce the lineup which included actress Jane Seymour.

The actress was on the fence for a while before making her final decision, but support from fans and family convinced her to compete.

"When I talked to some of the fans, they all just said, 'Oh, we'd love it. It would be so great,' " Seymour said. "You know what? My mom is very ill in England and this turns out to be her favorite show ever. So I managed to tell her, ask her what her thoughts were, and in the first words she's spoken since she had her stroke, she said, 'Yes.' I always wanted to dance when I was a little girl. I couldn't give up this opportunity at this point in my life."

This year's 12 contestants are Seymour, super model Albert Reed, Cheetah Girl Sabrina Bryan, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, actress-model Josie Maran, king of Las Vegas Wayne Newton, entertainer Marie Osmond, boxer Floyd Mayweather, Spice Girl Melanie Brown, racing champ Helio Castroneves, actress Jenni Garth, and actor Cameron Mathison.

The show debuts Sept. 24 on ABC with Dolly Parton as the musical guest.

Yawn, another dancing show..again...
No no no, here''s what to do for a reality show

1) Have a "space camp" competition with formerly convicted celebrities. The winner goes on the next shuttle mission.

2) Put that love triangle astronaught team, Nowak, Shipman, and the boyfriend, on That shuttle mission with the 2 ex-con celebs to do a makeover for the ISS.

3) Put all the friends and family of these 5 in a big house in the Hamptons.

Film everything for an ultimate reality show Hosted by Donald Trump and Rosie O''''donnell.
It can be judged by Judge Judy, Judge Ito, and that guy from the Anna Nicole custudy case. What does the winner get?? who cares, that can all be worked out later.

Call it "SPACE RACE"

But I can bet it would be the highest rated reality show, ever. Thus making the Reality show concept obsolete (thus killing off the concept for good).

My idea is posted here with a time and date, proof that I am the originator of it.
Ha, you scoff, but stranger things have happened....

Funny how Dancing With The Stars works. Some people are complaining about the lack of Star Power this year. It was one year ago these same people were asking "Who is Apolo Anton Ohno"? I''m anxious to ge to know the new contestants. Let''s Dance!

Dancing With The Stars is an ok show, but "So you think you can dance" is much better.

oakishpines is always posting that kind of garbage and rambling on and it never has to do with the topic of the news article.

I think they just like seeing their name in print.

It''s all for show...entertainment. Not like it''s really a contest that stays true to the rules. It''s fun so long as you don''t forget it is television.

briansgirl2 - Where did you come up with Lou Ferrigno? He''s not on the list?

If Lou Ferrigno were to be on the show it would be no problem as Deaf people "feel" music. Some of the best dancers I know are deaf. Alls they would need to do for the show if he were on was to point a speaker down on the floor and they feel it threw their body tell the rhythm from that.

Lou Ferrigno??? Isn''t he deaf?? How''s he gonna hear the music? Well, I guess if a one legged woman can muddle thru - - - so can a deaf guy! I wonder who''ll be next on their roster of handicap people. I know they are just doing this to keep some spice in the show. I can''t see any other the others being of any interest whatsoever. Go ahead, prove me wrong - - -

I''ve watched this program every year so far,but with the pick they have this year might be the show''s undoing. Cameron from AMC must be having a hard time getting movie contracts,so I''m betting that''s why he took the offer.

Mr. Wayne Newton must be doing it just for fun, cause he''s not as famous as he use to be.
Marie Osmond hmmmm what can I say. Jane Seymour well she''s my pick for this year and the rest well zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

I just hope this doesn''t kill the show for good cause this kind of dancing is taking off like wild fire since the shows beginnings. People are using it to lose weight and also as a way to find a date for a future good mate,so this dancing does have it''s pluses and besides it''s fun to do.

Go get them Jane.

I''ve heard it said that your acting career was officially on the skids when you guest starred on The Love Boat, Fantasy Island or Murder She Wrote (I believe a few unfortunates managed the trifecta). I''m betting that Dancing with the Stars is the current best predictor of the death knell of an entertainer''s career.

I quit watching all my children because of Cameron Mathison. As much as I have enjoyed dancing with the stars - I will not be watching it either. Poor choice as so many amc viewers will attest to.

I don''t watch much television anymore since most of it is unintelligent drivel. I do like to watch great dancers though and when my husband, a musician, has jobs where couples dance to many of the standards, I enjoy seeing these men and woman move so gracefully with each other. This kind of dancing is an art and is unfortunately fading.

When I saw that Marie Osmond was going to be on %u201CDancing With The Stars,%u201D it peaked my interest; until I saw that that cormorant Newton from Las Vegas was going to be on. That ungrateful man needs to apologize to a lot of people. His talent basically consisted of a charisma that has become an overstuffed ego and though he was once very entertaining and could sing somewhat decently, the voice has been long gone. Sorry Marie. I hope you win and that Mr. Greed is voted off on the first round.

I hope that they do not have Samantha back as a host - I thought her voice sounded like she was taking through tin cans.

I also do not see why the dancers have to go to the back for the SILLY questions and just stay on the floor with Tom Bergeron.
