Cops: Raid Finds Drugs In DMX's Home

Arizona Police Were Investigating Animal Cruelty Claims

(AP)  Deputies searching the home of rapper DMX during an investigation into claims of animal cruelty found about a half-pound of suspected illegal narcotics, the Maricopa County sheriff said Saturday.

No charges have been filed or arrests made. Sheriff Joe Arpaio said the investigation into alleged animal cruelty was ongoing, and the suspected drugs were being tested to confirm their content.

Friday's search was prompted by reports that pit bulls kept by the rapper at the home in rural north Phoenix were not being given enough food or water. A dozen pit bulls were seized, the bodies of three dogs were dug up in the yard and a variety of assault-style weapons were taken from the home, Sheriff Joe Arpaio said.

DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, was not at home and his lawyer said he hasn't been there for two months.

Arpaio said there was no indication the dogs were used in fights.

Reached Saturday, attorney Murray Richman said he had no knowledge of any narcotics. The dogs were looked after by a caretaker and "all sorts of people" had been staying at the home, Richman said.

"Why doesn't the sheriff call me?" Richman said. "I spoke to him yesterday — and rather than make these allegations in the press why doesn't he call me?"

Arpaio said witnesses placed the 36-year-old rapper at the home within the past three weeks, but Richman insisted that he has not been there for 2 months.

The weapons are being checked to see if they are legal, the sheriff said. Richman said Simmons has no felony convictions that would prohibit him from owning weapons.

In 2002, Simmons pleaded guilty to animal cruelty, disorderly conduct and possession of drug paraphernalia in New Jersey. Police said they found pipes for smoking crack cocaine, a pistol and 13 pit bulls at his home in 1999.

His albums include "It's Dark and Hell Is Hot" and "Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood" and "Year of the Dog ... Again."

Show up without advance notice at any rapper''s home & you can find all kinds of stuff. Guaranteed.

If you made a list of all of the rappers who have had "brushes with the law," it would be pretty long. Most of ''em came from the streets.
A lot of stuff goes down on the streets. They
just reflect that.

Got to have your drugs, harem of h-o-o-c-h-i-e-s, expensive cars, gold toilets, pit bulls, "Scarface" memorabilia, etc, when you''re a rapper. Ostentatious displays of wealth.
Spend that money!

More evidence of The Caucasian Conspiracy. No question about it. I know Agnim is with me on this. It''s certainly not the rapper''s fault. They''re just being set up. Evidence planted.
Poor innocent rappers.

Lemme see...where did I put Sharpton''s & Jesse''s phone number? 1-800-SLAVERY.

I love ya, agnim. I really do. I got a feeling agnim does not live in the USA.

What is it about young black men? Young black women are attending universities in record numbers. Buying condominiums/houses. Trying
to better themselves. Get a good-paying job.
I see them reading books on buses, subway, etc, all the time. Young black women aren''t trying to be cool 24-7. I''m not saying they never get into trouble or involved with the wrong crowd.

How many black men have not spent some time
in jail/prison? What percentage are on parole/probation currently? Are they all innocent? Unfairly persecuted by the police? Drugs & guns were planted in their cars & homes?

The only thing these rappers/pro athletes care about is their bank balance. Jail time doesn''t have any stigma in the black community. They just say it''s a "white conspiracy" trying to keep the poor black man down. What hurts them is losing endorsements & NFL contracts. Record sales slumping.

Maybe record companies and the nfl, nba, nhl, and baseball leagues need to be fined/sued for these outlaws. If you have a ladder company that has an employee that doesn''t put the ladder together correctly and somebody gets hurt, the employee looses the job and the employer gets sued (for not watching their employees close enough).

By putting these criminals out there in the public eye, they damaged society. There''s kids that look up to these people and will try to follow in their footsteps. They''ve done damage by allowing bad guys in the spotlight, perhaps they should pay for it.

I think we need to start looking at the white guys sitting in their posh offices who are running the show. They%u2019re the ones picking out the bad ones and raising them up celebrity status. If they aren''t intentionally picking bad apples, then they need to put their foot down and insist their people remain squeaky clean and pillars of the community. If the athlete, singer whatever gets out of hand, they need to be shown the highway. Law enforcement should not be the first to confront them with their bad behavior. We act as if this behavior is such a surprise, yet it was surely noted long before and it was chosen to be ignored. There is no lack of talented people out there that would be more than willing to stay out of trouble for the opportunity these guys got.

LOL

It was the last time the white man put down his guns, bombs and other toys of mass murder.

Wasting much time, energy and resources to build more and more destructive weapons for mass killing of humans and massive environmental damage is whites ''cool'', right?

Typical of ignoramuses to not know what is best for their own existence, for the continued existence of their country (asleep prior to 911) or for the planet.

Whites continue to mass kill humans in record numbers and you are concerned about reading books that only posses literary rubbish to waste brain space, and teach se.ex, violence and folly?

You have to be one "child left behind", right? LOL

Drugs in a rapper''s home? No way.

Seems like just about every young black man wants to be a cool, macho thug. Why is that?

THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS TO BE COOL.
NOT SMART. OH NO. THAT''S THE LAST THING A YOUNG BLACK MAN WANTS TO BE. THAT''S ACTING WHITE.
WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU SAW A BLACK MAN READING A BOOK? THINK HARD.

"Arizona Police Were Investigating Animal Cruelty Claims"

Ha ha!
Like anyone with an ounce of common sense would believe those government thugs excuse for their raid.

This is just another excuse by racist government thugs to harass and raid rappers.

This raid is like the flimsy excuse to go into Iraq, WHILE THE WHOLE IGNORANT COUNTRY WAS CAUGHT UP IN HYSTERIA!

Drugs are not good for the Nervous System; but if it is AT THE PEOPLE''S who the **** cares.

All those hundreds of thousands of human mass murder should be more concern for the government.
But don''t trust Americans to have enough common sense to be wise about PRIORITIES until they get a 911 up their collective sleepy arses!

Thank goodness this is being taken seriously- As a person who proudly grew up and spent my first 35 years in Harlem, I expect more from people who come from humble beginnings and make it big in the world. Compassion, a respect for God''s creatures and a sense of responsibility, courage, determination and persistence and education are what street cred is really about.
I am so done with ignorant, uneducated rich celebrities being excused for horrendous behavior.
Expect more of yourself - or as my mother would say "act like you been somewhere".

Don''t they BOTHER to proofread anything before they post it live?
