Hudgens Clicked With Efron Early On
(CBS)
Vanessa Hudgens says that her chemistry with "High School Musical 2" co-star Zac Efron was there from the moment they started working together on the first installment of the Disney channel mega-hit.
"Yes, from the beginning we got paired up. We weren't sure if they liked us and just, like, put us together or if they completely forgot about us and just left us together," she told co-anchor Maggie Rodriguez on The Early Show. "We were rehearsing outside, going over songs we had to do and just kind of creating our own scenes. We kind of hit it off from the very beginning. He's not a hard guy to get along with so it was fun."
The fun may have extended beyond the film set. Hudgens, 18, and Efron, 19, were photographed on a beach making out in Hawaii this summer. When asked about their relationship, Hudgens grinned, but declined to reveal any details.
"I try to keep it under wraps just because I'm a very private person and I like to keep my personal life to myself," she said.
Hudgens won't kiss and tell about what happens between the couple on-screen either.
"Things get complicated in this one," she said. "There's a lot of drama, a lot of romance. You have to see it to know what I'm talking about."
According to Hudgens, it looks like there will be a "High School Musical 3."
"I know they're writing it," she said. "It would be a theatrical release but no sign-on yet so we'll see what happens."
