Cops Looking For 4th Suspect In Newark

Authorities in Newark have issued an arrest warrant for a fourth suspect in last weekend's disturbing execution-style killings.

An arrest warrant is out for 24-year-old Rodolfo Godinez.

Authorities describe Godinez, who also goes by the name of Rodolfo Gomez, as a Nicaraguan national whose last known addresses was in Newark.

Newark Police Director Garry McCarthy tells The Star-Ledger of Newark that Godinez is — quote here — "a principal player" in the case.

Funerals are being held today for 20-year-old Dashon Harvey, 18-year-old Terrance Aeriel and 20-year-old Iofemi Hightower.

The friends were shot during an apparent robbery attempt that authorities have called one of the most disturbing killings in Newark in recent memory.

Terrance Aeriel's sister, Natasha Aeriel, was shot in the head but survived and has helped investigators identify a suspect in the case.

Three people have already been arrested in connection with the shooting.

The third suspect was charged Friday. He was identified as 15-year-old boy during a news conference held by the Essex County prosecutor's office. The teen faces three counts of felony murder, among other charges, said Paul Loriquet, a spokesman for the office. He would not provide other details.

Several hours earlier, Jose Carranza, 28, pleaded not guilty to three charges of first-degree murder, attempted murder and robbery. Victims' relatives questioned why the illegal immigrant from Peru had been granted bail this year on assault and child rape charges.

Speaking through a Spanish interpreter, Jose Carranza said he understood the charges against him. It was his first court appearance since he surrendered Thursday to Mayor Cory A. Booker.

Carranza, 28, is being held on $1 million bail. His lawyer, Felix Lopez Montalvo, declined to comment after the 11-minute hearing.

Another 15-year-old boy pleaded not guilty to the same charges Thursday and remains in custody, Assistant Essex County Prosecutor Thomas McTigue said. Authorities are seeking to have him tried as an adult.

I lived in Hamilton Ont CN around 20 years ago. Beautiful place then. I have family in London Ont, Hamilton, Niagra Falls, CN. After being way for 20 years I recently went back to visit Hamilton and London--I was shocked by what I saw there.. 85 year old ladies out and about by themselves at 1 and 2 am in the morning. Imagine a place where the elderly are not afraid to walk the streets at that time of morning? Got back to my relative home and went to bed. Woke up around 5 am to find everybody sleep and the door unlocked. I panicked check the house for invaders non-found. I explained the dangers out there of why the door should be locked at night... there response to that??? They looked at me and stated with a warm friendly smile: This is not the U.S. eh?

Someone who knows out there, please tell me why someone who is an illegal alien commits a violent act and then is allowed to be released and ends up killing some good kids?

Missing? I am sure the "child rape" was "other then white" so to the lawyers and judges of that city it DID NOT MATTER!! Business as usually to downplay most "other then white crimes" This has got to stop!! IF a person commits a major offense (Rape/Murder) no matter what the victims race, religion, or whatever He/she should be held accountable for that action and remain in jail until trial.. Right now I know of someone who has committed a murder.. witnesses saw this... the person got arrested.. Got out on bond less then the required 10% of a 350,000 dollar bond ($5500 bond for murder?) Was out and then got arrested again for participating in an armed robbery of a convenience store... Bond should be granted for less offenses but NEVER MURDER, RAPE or Armed Robbery... Where is the Justice???

I agree with you.

If the perpetrator was a white person these same people would be commenting on how THIS INDIVIDUAL is evil. They couldn't say group because that would include them and they wouldn't want to do that...because they are perfect. So, as long as the perpetrator is hispanic or black or anything else, it becomes the fault of the group and not the individual.

It appears that individual responsibility only matters for people within your own group, otherwise it is group responsibility.

You don't care about innocent people getting killed in minority neighborhoods. The problem with you is that as long as you let this happen ANYwhere, you allow for it to happen EVERYwhere.

It was only about three weeks ago that an equally horrendous crime was perpetrated in Cheshire, Connecticut, by two White ex-cons, during a home invasion in which a doctor's family was wiped out.

All Democrats and a good majority of Repubs have no regard whatsoever as to how this illegal problem is affecting our communities. I wonder if Hillary has an illegal family living next door with 15 to 20 junk cars parked on the yard, weekend parties w/live music and beer bottles strewn all over the front yard. The refrain that goes through these posts is that the Govt. won't do anything about illegals. If we had impartial or even ProAmerican Major Newspapers you would know the Govt. does plenty about illegal aliens. They vote welfare for them as they did last Thursday. They--Democrats--changed the vote.
And the Republicans let Bush and Clinton bring them here, hoping to get rich on cheap labor. I have to add that at the LaRaza Convention,last month, Immigration Forum, Chaired by Cecile Munez, shown three times on CSPAN Aug. 10, Joseph Garcia, National Democratic Network, said the Democratic Party was going to have to build a large statue to The People in CA. He said that he remembered when CA was a split state, but now Hispanics could give Democrats control over the USA until the turn of the Century. He said Republicans like Arnold could be lived with.

Those millions of people they are legalizing, making citizens, they are not doing it because they wish to be AMericans. They are not embracing American ideas. Most don't speak Spanish. Yet thousands are being sworn in as citizens every day.

With the Democrats voting welfare for illegals, thus ensuring another 20 million are now on their way--come on in, the President and the Democrats are pulling for you, it's all free, you're entitled and you get to keep your real citizenship and just pick up a crappy gringo one for the money.

At the LaRaza Convention, Immigration Forum, one panel member smugly spoke of their millions. She said there are 13 and a half million legal residents, mostly Hispanic, ready to become USA Dual Citizens--they also remain citizens of their native lands where they have loads of documentation, there are five million Hispanic unregistered voters and two million anchor babies of voting age. So 15 million plus 13 million plus 5 million plus 2 million --I get thirty five million Hispanic people, mostly Mexicans, here in the USA primed for USA citizenship. And they get to bring the family, it is all free, they are entitled and as Saint Kennedy grunted today " Any attempt to enforce workplace laws will harm immigrant families."

Would that he gave a *** about the three kids executed in New Jersey and the 15 year old girl tortured to death in Sanctuary state Washington--same deal. Long rap sheet, no ID allowed, tortured the kid to death.
