K-Fed Seeks Primary Physical Custody

A Source Says Order For Custody Of Kids Was Filed Wednesday In Los Angeles

(CBS)  A source tells The ShowBuzz that Kevin Federline has filed an order to show cause for primary physical custody of their two children. The order was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court around 4 p.m. Wednesday, the source said.

Primary physical custody of the children means that Sean Preston, 22 months, and Jayden James, 10 months, would reside with their father and that their mother would have visitation rights.

The source said that the 25-year-old singer must respond to the order at a closed court hearing.

In an interview with The Associated Press last week, Federline's attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, said his client, who shares custody with Spears, is focused on being the best parent he can be right now.

"When they are with him, he is going to shield his children from unwanted media attention," Kaplan told the AP. "You will not find a picture of Kevin parading with the children out in a public place."

Spears has made headlines recently for bizarre behavior, including a magazine interview in which her dog defecated on a designer dress.

Federline and Spears' divorce was finalized July 30.

Hey, wattermelann; where do you get that Kevin Federline is the source of all this negative exposure? HE didn't MAKE her shave her head, HE didn't MAKE her take the clothing and jewelry from the photo shoot she agreed to (replete with doggy doo and chicken grease on designer clothing that cost thousands), HE didn't MAKE her go out without panties over and over and over again, and HE *** sure didn't MAKE her hit that car the other day in the parking lot - then ignore the damage she caused to it and go right on with her shopping. She is doing a fine enough job on her own making herself look ridiculous and off her rocker - she sure doesn't appear to need any help from him. And, unless you are a privy to his business dealings, you are skating a pretty thin line in the direction of slander in regard to saying he is the one sending the photographers after her to set her up.

When these "celebrities" step into the spotlight and do everything they can to become "stars", there is a certain level of publicity that goes with it, and it appears she is doing all she can right now to show us that she is not a fit mother and certainly not a role-model of any kind for our young girls. As I said before, I hope the judge in the custody case looks at all the things she HAS BEEN DOING ALL BY HERSELF lately, and decides that she doesn't merit custody of those little boys - that's the only thing that should matter in this.

Kevin Federline is purposely setting Brittney Spears up so that he can not only get custody of the children, but also more money from Brittney. When he gets sole custody he will also get more money. Kevin Federline is the person behind the papparazzi following Brittney and all of this negative exposure and Brittney Spears is pushing it all back into everyone's faces. We have no right to judge this Brittney Spears because we do not live with her day to day. I feel really sorry that she got "hooked up" with this fortune hunter because that is all he is. A gig go low for da' money-a conniving fortune hunter.

A cat would be a better mother than Britney - at least Kevin isn't hauling the children around late at night when they should be at home in bed. He seems to really care what happens to the boys, and although he has, indeed, been a big partier in the past, he certainly hasn't exhibited any of the bizzare actions and behaviors that Britney has been known for recently.

All too often, the courts say that the children should stay with the "Mother", as if motherhood grants some special status to a woman who may in all actuality be a terrible parent - then Dad only gets to visit/spend short periods of time with the children that he loves just as much, if not more, than the mom does.

I think it would be wonderful if the judge in this case actually looks at all the things that have happened with this young woman and says "No, the children would be better off with their father" Unfortunately, this is California, and Britney has more $ than Kevin, so guess which way this will probably go...

He didn't abandon them, he just didn't marry Shar. Still visited the kids, paid support. I don't recall that he has substance abuse issues, though he is/was known to party hard.

Maybe, just maybe, this whole marriage/divorce has made K-Fed grow up a bit? After all, he didn't have to worry about his kids with Shar; she's a responsible parent. Britney is another story entirely.

he hasn't been the best dad with his previous kids - but my word, he can't be any worse a dad to britney and his kids than she is a mom. i think the courts need to let him prove himself and keep the kids. it's a shame that these two beautiful little boys have to be with either one of them; however, k-fed seems to be the better parent of the two. britney is gonna burst and go up in flames anyday. her actions keep getting more bizare with every article and news report i see. her latest stunt with that 21 yr old guy is about the trashiest cr@p yet.

I could see the courts not being happy that she violated the conditions of their custody agreement when she took the kids out of State and maybe wanting to flex their muscles in the short-term, but in the long-run Britney and K-fed seem about on-par with their parenting skills . . . the bar for custody is pretty low and in parent versus parent claims it's all relative . . .

I think he should have the kids he may be worthless but he sure seems to be more stable than the mom. Cause she is just a plain mess, don't know if she is post partum depression,drugs, maniac or all of the above but that is not a good environment to bring her kids up I feel sorry for the children of some of these stars and celebrities, cause I am prettysure they have to endure a lot.
