WEEK ONE RECAP: It wasn't pretty when Dustin realized his ex, Joe, was in the house. Daniele was in tears when she saw that her estranged father, "Evil" Dick, was along for the ride. And Carol and Jessica share some unhappy history — though their conflict, over $5, started when they were in junior high.

Will any of these three pairs be able to resolve their simmering anger? Will they eventually work together or will they plot to have each other evicted? Will their misery affect the whole group?

The only houseguest who was truly happy was Eric. That's because he's going to be playing as "America's Houseguest." He'll be following instructions voted on by "Big Brother" viewers, and for every five tasks he is able to complete in the house, he will win $10,000. His first assignment is to tell someone about a tragedy in his life; America has voted on which person he'll tell.

Kail, the first HOH, picked Amber and Carol as the first nominees for eviction; she based this on the fact that they were the first two contestants eliminated from the HOH competition. Everyone thought this was reasonable except, not surprisingly, Amber and Carol. Incidentally, Kale was one of the first out of the box in creating a secret alliance. She coerced Mike, Nick and Zach to join her.

There was a food competition that involved scraping faux "butter" off the bodies of houseguests into a vat of faux popcorn and Amber's long, curly hair was her team's secret weapon. Her group will have food this week, while the losers will subsist on the "BB" Slop diet (the same "diet" that helped Chicken George lose so much weight last season). Even Jameka, who loves oatmeal, found the Slop unpalatable. Question: What exactly is in the slop? And are the houseguests able to doctor it up with condiments?

And, finally, in a "BB" first, a contestant had a complete and total meltdown over ... a publicity photo. For real. The other houseguests thought that Jen was kidding when she loudly protested that her photo had "bad lighting" that gave her "bags" under her eyes; she then burst into tears and covered the offending photo with a pot holder. We know this wasn't a joke because she also wept in the diary room. Jen has just gone down in "BB" history as the Most. Shallow. Houseguest. Ever. And that was before we all saw her "Jen-ius" and "Jen-sa Member" T-shirts.

There was little or no catfighting between Carol and Amber as they jockeyed for position. Daniele won the first Power of Veto competition, but declined to help either woman. Though Carol did ask other houseguests for help, including Zach and Mike, she seemed fairly stoic. In all of her diary room appearances, Amber looked like she just had a good cry.

America voted and asked Eric to evict Carol.

In the end, the vote was 10-1 to evict Carol, with the sole vote for Amber coming from Jen, who further cemented her position as the House outcast — the one person who annoys everyone else. Which is why it's sort of delicious that she won the HOH competition.

I want to share our thoughts with CBS/Big Brother about Eric's task of "Sleep-walking"....I really feel you owe the $10,000 offered to Eric for the task of making someone in the house believe he (Eric) was sleep-walking. America chose Joe. BB said he did not complete the task because he was not "kicked" out of bed by the person America chose (Joe). However, the task was to make the chosen "houseguest" believe he (Eric) was asleep and had been sleep-walking and was unaware he had crawled into someone else's bed and not his own. He most certainly accomplished this task. It was later stated that he was supposed to have been kicked out of the bed. However, that is not the way it was told beforehand. Joe was thoroughly convinced Eric had been sleep-walking. Therefore, his task was accomplished and he should be given the $10,000. On the subject of the tasks given to Eric...It would be really nice if BB would recap the number of tasks assigned and the number of tasks accomplished for America to see how much Eric has won to date for being "America's Player".

On another subject%u2026what is being done to insure the integrity of the game and stopping outside influences as happened with the airplane pulling the banner the evening of the HOH competition this week on Thursday, August 2nd. This has jeopardized Eric%u2019s position as America%u2019s Player.

Is it me or what? Every time I see Evil Dick on the screen he just looks like a dirty old man trying to re-kindle his youth with those nasty tattoos and piercing and dirty looking hair. He is a poor example of what a person should be like at his age. No wonder his daughter was ashamed of him.

The thing I miss the most is the feed into the new HOH room each week. It was nice to see what the HOH got from home,like the little letter for loved ones and the pictures of family members. Please bring this feed back into the show.

I think evil is sa good of a father as he can be. He can only use what he knows in order to be a good father. When Danni came outside and was crying to him about her feelings towards Nick you could tell his heart was breaking for her and he just wanted to reach out and hug her, but held back because he didn't want to push Danni into something she wasn't ready for. The moment was about her not what Evil wanted and that is what parents do.

I think Evel *** is a nasty father to his daughter. He always is passing the buck oh his sorry fatherhood and blames his daughter instead and how she treats him. Well duhhhhh dad. Its ok for him to not be perfect but her oh no then comes the name calling. He is trying to shame her and blame everything on her. What a piece of work he is always calling people out and berating them for what he thinks isn't so nice--none of his business---geesh!

I feel so sorry for that girl having a stupid dad that can't grow up. This man is mean and abusive and needs to be canned. I hope she wins HOH next time and puts him up for eviction. Time to start fighting back Daniele. Don't let him hurt you any longer.

*** made the right choices when he chose Jen & Kale for the block this week. Jen needs to go this week. If I could text, I would text that America's player votes Jen out this week. Also that he takes those stupid shirts Jen wears with her name on them that says stuff. Jen is all about herself.

I don't believe that it is right to judge a show on being too white, too not, too big, or too hot! Mike can't help it if he's hot! He's genuine, honest, loyal, and to top it off, he cooks and cleans too. I'm in love!
I do expect that there should be a basic amount of intelligence among all the "Houseguests" though!
Janelle may have been gullible, but she was no idiot.
Jessica on the other hand, squawks her way to the top of my annoyance meter with such brilliant revelations as "Did you know that fat tans faster than regular skin?" She definitely isn't the sharpest blond in the bunch. Now that Carol is gone, she can forget about her $5 and leave.

I have been fan since the first show, often listening to live feeds to early hours in the a.m. I will miss the bb6 group, they were the best. The thing I miss the most is the weeklong challanges, I think it brought the house together working for a similiar goal. It also made entertainment at all hours of the nite and day. I just loved Curtis. I am a fan no matter what! Dee

Alright! Every summer I count down till BB aires! And why? For a HUGH disappointment!! Where are the "real" ppl? the ones who actually have curves? I Miss chicken George! This is no different from the MTV and the VH1 reality shows, with there model girls and pretty boy guys. And where are the black ppl? Every season BB has no more than 2 (possibly three)Black ppl.And this season only one? Come on!!! I'm absolutly discusted with CBS and am glad that I do not have any t.v. programs with this station that I watch!(excluding BB)
