WEEK FIVE RECAP

Memo to Eric: A wise man once said, "You lay down with dogs and you'll get up with fleas." Eric teamed himself up with Evel Dick and now he needs a double dose of Frontline.

It all goes back to Nick. Who really voted for him to stay? And who voted for Mike to stay the week before? Both weeks there were two votes against Kail. No one will take responsibility for their actions except for Zack, the House Pariah, who admits to casting anti-Kail ballots the previous two weeks. Last week, Nick was incorrectly charged with being the second vote and it led to his eviction. Of course, it's been Eric, America's Player, who was doing America's bidding by voting against Kail.

Evel and Daniele suspect that Eric is the rogue voter. They devised a plan to eliminate him -- Daniele, the HOH, will put up Kail and Jen. But she will eventually back-door Eric in a clean, surgical strike. Her father is thrilled. She's daddy's little girl, after all!

They confided the plan to Jessica, who is the closest thing to a friend Daniele has in the house. She warned her close friend Eric, and, though sworn to secrecy, he confronted Evel, which gave Dick an excuse to bully someone other than Jen. Jen, happy to be out from under his thumb, stirred things up and plotted against Eric.

Suddenly, the other houseguests are waking up to the fact that Dick is unpredictable, volatile and dangerous. Whoa! Who'd a thunk? Under the guise of being a pierced, tattooed, nail-polished rebel who doesn't care what people think of him, Dick really doesn't care what people think of him. It's a novel strategy.

Moreover, Dick has been handling the houseguests, instead of it being the other way around. And now his entire Late Night Crew is trapped into being his obedient puppets. Or are they?

And then there were the banners. One flew over the house during the HOH competition: "We (heart) Nick. Amber and Eric are liars. LNC (Late Night Crew) is the Nerd Herd." To have someone from the outside world call them out during the game is bad news for Eric and Amber, who scrambled to defend themselves, even throwing dirt at each other. There were apparently other banners, as well (according to the live bloggers). It just gives ED more justification to target Eric.

Who will win POV? Will they use it to protect Eric? Can Eric wiggle his way out of this one? Will the rest of the LNC band together against Evel Dick and Daniele? Stay tuned!

I am so disappointed to see profiles of the new houseguests. Why can't we have a little geographic variety, as well as more than two people over the age of 35? I have watched BB since the very beginning and appreciate interaction between people from different parts of the country and different ages. I will watch for a few episodes and see how it goes, but wish casting directors would realize that some of us baby boomers get tired of seeing all twenty-somethings.

i completely agree with the previous poster. this isnt big brother... this is mtv's the real world! only two over 30 and those two are polar opposites... she's really religious and he is an owner of a bar! i've heard this will be the last season bc the ratings have been so horrible the last few seasons, esp bb all stars!

You know, I realize you are looking for good TV, but should I assume that anyone beyond their 20's aren't capable of giving the viewers some different reasons to watch. I'm really disappointed that once again, we have a bunch of young housemates. I love this show, but I'm losing interest in watching all young contestants...

i love this show and it just keeps getting better! I disagree with the previous comments about how this is like the real world ... the real world gets boring ... big brother doesnt it has eliminations, competions, enemies, etc.! So if theres soething you don't like about it maybe you should leave it to yourself b/c i don't see you prouducing shows!!!

I just watched the after dark bb8 on SHO2 from midnight until 1230a and Eric didn't stop saying the F*** word. I don't mind hearing it once in a while but he is using it way to excessively.
If he is supposed to represent America then he is not a good example of it.

Though it would be nice to see some older houseguests, most of us over 30 can't really leave our lives and families for 3 months. They may not get as many people applying to play who are older and those who do might not be as willing to be outrageous. People start worrying about how what they do will affect their jobs and families once they grow up and have more responsibilities. If people are really interested in seeing more older players they should send in a tape and be prepared to go all out to show they can be interesting, entertaining, manipulative and keep people involved in the show. Just my 2 cents from an over 35 BB Fan.

People over the age of 35 who would want to live in a frat-house - on camera - are mentally challenged.

CBS is doing gay men no favors by continually having these despicable gay men on Big Brother. As if Marcellas wasn't bad enough, then we had "Bunky" (the crier). Now we've got two nelly sleazeballs who play right into the hands of right-wing homophobes right off the bat.

Really disappointing, especially since there are literally thousands and thousands of gay men out there who do not fit into these stereotypes.

You would think a more interesting twist would be to have a real *** hunk who all the women are lusting after, only to find out weeks into the show that he is really gay. Now THAT would be a twist worth watching.

Other than that, after only the first episode, none of the houseguests strikes me as particularly compelling.

After only watching one night I am hooked. You really hit on it this time so far. I have waited a whole year for this show and I am glad to say that I really think I will enjoy the 8th season as much if not more as I have the past 7 seasons. I also love the idea that we can watch more of it on Show time. There are days when I just can't get enough of this show. I love the creators of this show and love how each year it gets better and better. Kudo's to all the writers of this show, and to all the people who think up all the games that the houseguest take part in. I am in aw of their creative talent to keep bringing us more and more interesting seasons of this show. I haven't look forward to a show starting every year since Dallas back in the 70's. Right there tells you I am not a teenager. Thanks for this chance to let you know how I feel about this years show. Thanks for the show.

Take heart - the mainstream gay men you are talking about would never consent to being on this show.

Are you kidding? How many over 40's could pass the boobs/pects test? and of those, how many would consent to this nonsense? It's an over-eighteen kids show.

I would have bought the 24 hour live stream, (the price was reasonable) but you can't just buy the Big Brother package. You have to buy a whole subscription to some Superpass *** I don't want and download their program, toolbar, etc .... And then, they'll keep charging your credit card even when the show is over, unless you CALL THEM BACK if you want to cancel it. I've been there, done that. It's a hassle! Too bad...was really looking forward to it, too.

I have no issues with gay men or lesbians except when the are WAY too over the top in their mannerisms, i.e.: men trying too hard to act gay or flit around more than women do or women that act like some character out of a movie trying to be masculine and tough.
Blending into the woodwork is least annoying and to me, a way in which I can respect their lifestyle, not be put off by it.
Joe has to go - his ex is fine, Joe is probably an embarrassment to GLAD.

PS - this is the first season that I have tuned in for more than a commercial break and did not realize over 40's were not normally cast, but their is a cash prize in the end so why not?
Not everyone over 25 does have a finacially set life.

I wouldn't do the 24 hour cams again for two reasons. First, during the trail week that I had them, I signed on about 5 to 6 times. Only ONE of those times did I see anything. All the other times, I was blocked out.

Secondly, cancelling the package was a huge pain. You do have to call and talk to someone to do it. While on the phone, they try to sell you everything under the sun.

So, in the end, I thought it was just a huge scam by CBS. Never again!

I've read several comments about not having any older folks or more minorities in the house. Why?
I don't care who's in the house, as long as they're interesting and/or fun. The presence of older folks and minorities does not automatically guarantee a good season. They can be just as boring as anyone else.

StLinus ....that's exactly the reason I didn't sign up for the live feed. I had my credit card out and was all ready. I was disappointed. I wish they'd just have a live feed package for Big Brother .... no strings or gimmicks or hidden BS.

Your "America Chooses" idea is a great one, but Eric is a terrible choice to act as our mole. He is really transparent and has come across as not trustworthy from the start. If he makes it past week 2 I'll be shocked and surprised that none of the other houseguests are smart enough to see through him. Also, what is wrong with Jen, she is creepy, shallow and sleezy, I can't wait for her and old *** to hook up.

JOE HAS GOT TO GO AND QUICK! I have no problem with gay people, however, he is extremely over-the-top and in your face about it. some of my dearest friends are gay and the way he acts in an insult to those who are gay. What he said about his ex was so cruel and immature. Joe makes those who are gay look very bad. I hope he is the first to go.

I was very disappointed with the first episode of BB8. I have been a great fan through the last 7 yrs, but it seems the house guests are not nearly as diversified as in the past - this makes for a very boring show. It's much more interesting when the HG are varied in race, age, and culture. And, I must agree with several previous comments concerning the very over the top gay guy - he is just plain disgusting whether he is gay or not!! Can't wait to see him go. Don't know whether I can will continue to watch this season or not - it's got to get a whole lot better.

This will be the first year I don't watch Big Brother. All the other years there was such a diverse group which made it interesting. Now, like all other shows, it has become all T & A. I am sure they are trying to get more of a younger audience but why change when you have a good show already.

EEK. This season is just awful. The houseguests are lame, I think Julie's hair is bigger than ever, and I have made a commitment to myself to find something more interesting to do with my time!!! BORING!!!! (Did I mention that there might be more suitable co-hosts?) While years before had me live streaming, this years guests have me reading!

We have been watching since the show first started
and this is the first show that I am not happy with the people you choose. That Jen is so self absorbed
that I hope someone gets her out, fast.
Was hoping Danielle & her dad would make up for all
the time they wasted, & get to know each other again
Julie PLEASE tell the group to GROW up, they are acting like children. First time I knew I didn't like Jen was when she cried at her picture, yuck!

This is no different from the MTV and the VH1 reality shows, with there model girls and pretty boy guys. And where are the black ppl? Every season BB has no more than 2 (possibly three)Black ppl.And this season only one? Come on!!! I'm absolutly discusted with CBS and am glad that I do not have any t.v. programs with this station that I watch!(excluding BB)

I have been fan since the first show, often listening to live feeds to early hours in the a.m. I will miss the bb6 group, they were the best. The thing I miss the most is the weeklong challanges, I think it brought the house together working for a similiar goal. It also made entertainment at all hours of the nite and day. I just loved Curtis. I am a fan no matter what! Dee

I don't believe that it is right to judge a show on being too white, too not, too big, or too hot! Mike can't help it if he's hot! He's genuine, honest, loyal, and to top it off, he cooks and cleans too. I'm in love!
I do expect that there should be a basic amount of intelligence among all the "Houseguests" though!
Janelle may have been gullible, but she was no idiot.
Jessica on the other hand, squawks her way to the top of my annoyance meter with such brilliant revelations as "Did you know that fat tans faster than regular skin?" She definitely isn't the sharpest blond in the bunch. Now that Carol is gone, she can forget about her $5 and leave.
Don't even get me started on Jen! There isn't enough space on this website!

*** made the right choices when he chose Jen & Kale for the block this week. Jen needs to go this week. If I could text, I would text that America's player votes Jen out this week. Also that he takes those stupid shirts Jen wears with her name on them that says stuff. Jen is all about herself.
If anyone out there can text, please text that Eric takes those shirts.....
GET JEN OUT THIS WEEK...

I think Evel *** is a nasty father to his daughter. He always is passing the buck oh his sorry fatherhood and blames his daughter instead and how she treats him. Well duhhhhh dad. Its ok for him to not be perfect but her oh no then comes the name calling. He is trying to shame her and blame everything on her. What a piece of work he is always calling people out and berating them for what he thinks isn't so nice--none of his business---geesh!

I feel so sorry for that girl having a stupid dad that can't grow up. This man is mean and abusive and needs to be canned. I hope she wins HOH next time and puts him up for eviction. Time to start fighting back Daniele. Don't let him hurt you any longer.

I think evil is sa good of a father as he can be. He can only use what he knows in order to be a good father. When Danni came outside and was crying to him about her feelings towards Nick you could tell his heart was breaking for her and he just wanted to reach out and hug her, but held back because he didn't want to push Danni into something she wasn't ready for. The moment was about her not what Evil wanted and that is what parents do.

Is it me or what? Every time I see Evil Dick on the screen he just looks like a dirty old man trying to re-kindle his youth with those nasty tattoos and piercing and dirty looking hair. He is a poor example of what a person should be like at his age. No wonder his daughter was ashamed of him.
