  • Timeline Britney's Meltdown

She shaved her head, went commando and drove with a baby in her lap. Here's a look at past antics of pop princess Britney Spears.

(CBS)  Britney Spears is threatening to sue Clear Channel Communications for billboards her lawyer called "outrageous to the extreme," the Smoking Gun reports on its Web site.

The Clear Channel owned MJ Morning radio show in Florida put up three billboards featuring the now famous paparazzi photos of Spears with a freshly shaved head and an angry sneer on her face. On the other side of the billboards are the laughing face of one of the show's radio personalities. Between them are the words: "total nut jobs," "shock therapy," or "certifiable."

The photos in question were taken by the X17 agency in February after Spears had her much publicized head-shaving meltdown. Later, when she was being photographed by X17 agency she launched an umbrella wielding attack on the photographer.

Timeline: Britney's Meltdown
Spears' lawyer, Linda B. Goldman, wrote a letter to a lawyer for Clear Channel demanding the immediate removal of the billboards. In the letter available on the Smoking Gun, it states that Clear Channel was already ordered to take down the billboard for "unauthorized commercial exploitation of (Spears') likeness" and the company said it would take down the billboards.

The company is further exposing itself to liability by lying about removing them, Goldman wrote. She also demanded an inventory of all billboards containing Spears' likeness.

"If Clear Channel continues to ignore the reasonable demands being made on my client's behalf and or again provides us with inaccurate or misleading information," she wrote, "it does so at its peril."

A request for comment from Spears' attorneys was not returned on Monday.

They should instead put up the photos of her giving K-Fed a ***, or the one where she is showing off her ugly uncovered pussi.

Since when objects in public domain can't be used publicly?
It's not like someone invaded the privacy of this ho. She was out to show off; and the people are making a show off her.

Those billboards should not be moved under duress.

If she pleaded/made a request, then she can have her wish granted; but she is in no position to sue after she publicly prostituted herself for the world to see.

I think Britney's missing the big picture with regards to the billboard - technically it is copyright infringement, but I don't think it's the billboard that's "outrageous to the extreme" it's her behavior. Shock jock's are a whole other menace to society, but let's face it Britney's not in control of herself and her life. And the remedy to cleaning up her life lies with her . . . if she think just because the billboard came down that the majority of the world doesn't think she's crazy, then she's even worse off than she seems!

"I think most of the people who post nasty vindictive comments here about Britney, Paris and any number of other people would also make the same attacks on a five or six year old little girl, were Shirley Temple to reappear again as we knew her at that age. Nothing is sacred or forgiven by these pond scum, as there is nothing sacred about them, and nothing redeemable." Posted by mygramma

The only time I would verbally attack a five or six year old little girl would be if she were behaving like Paris Hilton or Britney Spears. Trash is trash, no matter what your age or income bracket.

i just heard her music for the first time.
sorta shoo-bippet-bop dipsy doodle music.
her my prerogative song, she declares she
is crazy and says so what if i am. who is
crazier? the military-industrial-space
complex? or someone who shaves their head?
the military-industrial-space complex jeopardizes
the entire planet. who is britney jeopardizing?
herself, her two kids? nobodies with no talent
sometimes slam the successful.she's very talented,
the tempermental artiste stereotype.

decoy91288 - I agree with your statement. She does have a private life and they might have indeed used her visage without her permission for their own profit...

Of course, I also think all media should ignore her - then she'd have nothing to sue over.

But then she'd sue because nobody's paying attention to her, America's favorite pop queen... (Whether or not that's sarcasm remains to be confirmed...)

Thank you decoy91288. At last an intelligent, measured comment. I think most of the people who post nasty vindictive comments here about Britney, Paris and any number of other people would also make the same attacks on a five or six year old little girl, were Shirley Temple to reappear again as we knew her at that age. Nothing is sacred or forgiven by these pond scum, as there is nothing sacred about them, and nothing redeemable.

I am afraid she did it too herself. If you are a public figure and you shave your head and attack a car with an umbrella you can expect too wind up in the public eye in a way that you might find unflattering.

That being said I hope she grows up before she shoot her self in the foot in a way that tosts her career.

Britney needs to get over herself. She needs to grow up and become a good mother to those 2 little boys!

Brittany is right and I hope she does sue Clear Channel for an amount that really hurts. Also, althought she most likely will, I hope she does not settle gut actually goes to trial.

Clear Channel sponsors many Hate Radio talk show hosts who delight in embrassing people by misstating and misreprensting their statements. Somehow the FCC has to cure this.
