Thomas And Friends Maker Recalls 1.5M Toys

Some Popular Train Toys May Contain Lead Paint; Recall Extends To Toys From 2005

(CBS/AP)  The makers of the popular children's toys Thomas and Friends are recalling nearly 1.5 million of them because paint on the toys contains lead and could be toxic if ingested by young children.

There have been no injuries reported.

RC2 Corporation, which imports and distributes the wooden railway toys, issued the recall in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

The recall covers wooden vehicles, buildings and other parts sold from January 2005 through June 2007. The toys are manufactured in China.

Consumers are instructed to immediately take the toys away from children and contact RC2 for a replacement toy, according to a statement by CPSC.

Toys marked with manufacturing codes “WJ” or “AZ” are not included in this recall. The code may be located on the bottom of the product or inside the battery cover.

THERE ARE NO MARKINGS ON THE BOTTOM OF THE WOODEN TRAINS AND ALSO THE "WOODEN" TRAINS DON'T HAVE BATTERIES. SO WHERE ARE THESE NUMBERS I'M SUPPOSE TO BE LOOKING FOR. I HAVE OVER A HUNDRED TRAINS AND I AM SO MAD. WHY ARE THEY USING LEAD PAINT? UNBELIEVEABLE
