This Time, Kucinich Did Not Stand Alone

By Josephine Hearn

(The Politico)  There was one other person with him.

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) joined Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) at a press conference this morning to push for impeachment of Vice President Dick Cheney.

Kucinich wasn't about to repeat the mistake of his last impeachment press event, when he proclaimed he did not stand alone when he was, in fact, standing alone. This second newser would be no solo event. He waited a good 20 minutes for Waters to arrive before starting.

"Before, it was speculated that no one else would support impeachment," he intoned with Waters at his side. "I fully expect there'll be more members joining us."

One more member, Rep. Al Wynn (D-Md.), was supposed to show up at the event but missed it. Another five have signed on to Kucinich's articles of impeachment but could not make it. They are Democratic Reps. Yvette Clarke (N.Y.), Lacy Clay (Mo.), Barbara Lee (Calif.), Jan Schakowsky (Ill.) and Lynn Woolsey (Calif.).
