(AP)  A cheerleading coach at the prep school founded by tennis star Andre Agassi has been arrested in an undercover prostitution sting, Las Vegas police said Friday.

Police said 36-year-old Esperanza Brooks was arrested Wednesday night in a Las Vegas restaurant after agreeing to deliver three prostitutes and drugs to undercover detectives at a hotel-casino.

Brooks was a cheerleading coach, but not a faculty member at the Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy, a charter school for at-risk students founded by Agassi in 2001, school spokesman Rob Powers said.

Powers said the school learned of the arrest Friday and was cooperating with police.

"Obviously, we're very concerned and the well-being of the students is our chief concern," Powers said, adding that Brooks passed a background check requested by the school.

Police said they have no information indicating any of the school's 500 students were involved in prostitution. They said the investigation arose from a tip saying a cheerleading coach at the school was also a madam.

Brooks, a woman believed to be her business partner, Rashena Rashel Kemp, and three other women were arrested in the sting, police said.

Brooks was booked into Clark County jail and charged with 14 counts of prostitution-related charges. Kemp, 30, faces three counts of conspiracy to commit pandering and conspiracy to live off the earnings of a prostitute.

Tiffany Alvord, Rachael Alexander and Rachel Wall, each believed to be prostitutes working for Brooks, were booked on one count of soliciting for the purpose of prostitution. Wall was charged with possession of cocaine, police said. None of the women were minors, police said.

Agassi is not involved in the daily operations of the school, which is overseen by his Andre Agassi Charitable Foundation.

Continued... The girls at LEGAL brothels (street walking is NOT legal anywhere) are independent workers. They are checked for STD'S by the state health board at the house BEFORE being allowed to work. If they should leave the house, which they may do anytime they wish, are NOT allowed to work until checked again. Unless they are escorted by a rep of the brothel.

The brothels are a safe VOLUNTARY place to work for the girls unless a husband or other influence outside the brothel is forcing them to prostitute.

There is security for the girls AND the customer. It is a place of business and run as one. If you don't like what you see you can go next door to another house.

I and thousands who live here in Vegas would love to see prostitution legalized and taxed in Clark and all Nevada counties. That would help curb many prostitution related crimes. A portion of the taxes could be used to help those women who have been forced into it.

Lastly prostitution is ABSOLUTELY NOT! legal in Reno or the county in which it sits nor in Clark county where Las Vegas is. NO WAY, NO HOW. There is NO *** in the champagne room!!! Continued...

Where does one begin? I've lived in Las Vegas for 39 years and have seen many sides of prostitution having worked with law enforcement, part of that time as a security officer at a M ajor G reen M onstrosity. Side note...if you think casino security officers are a joke, just ask a LVMPD officer. When we work with them they don't know how we do the job we do.

First of all prostitution IS ILLEGAL in Clark county where L.V. is. It is not usually a victim less crime. Out call services provide "escorts" to customers at hotels and most of them are independent unto themselves. However most of them do trick rolls and security can't "arrest" them (yes, security can detain you if a crime has been committed) if the victim won't press charges. Most of the time LVMPD is called and the suspects ID is checked for warrants and Metro will ask security to hold them if need be.

Many girls that don't work for services have pimps who do beat them and hold them hostage by intimidation. Most of them are addicted to drugs or alcohol. Many of them have STD's. And also will rob you blind or worse if given the chance. I've witnessed this. The hotel casinos do their best to hide this from you.

I've also had the pleasure to meet the rare girl who works an honest trick as an independent. However they are few and far between and getting rarer.

Secondly, OUTSIDE of Clark County 70 miles from Las Vegas are the LEGAL brothels. Continued...

LOL
Australia is a land of criminals; so who would be virtueless enough to follow the lead of criminals?

The natural state of polygamy will greatly reduce prostitution, by 'removing' the extra hoz and their 'johns' from circulating their ***-addicted behaviors in the general society, and placing them is structured family lives.

I try to be open minded, but I can't really support prostitution. I just don't think it's a good thing. Legalize is probably good cuz then you can try to keep the disease, pregnancy, broken hearts, etc under some kind of control.

Australia has essentially legalized prostitution nationwide with gov't regulation and taxation, and the country doesn't seem to be anywhere near spiraling downward into hedonistic depravity.

The girls (i.e. 'registered *** workers') I've met here on while on business from the U.S. seem to be doing quite well for themselves.

One was an English backpacker earning some extra cash to continue her travel adventures, another was attending university. Another was the daughter of a mining project manager who had lived in many interesting places across Australia while growing up.

They are paid as "independent contractors", with the house fee and services fee separate line-items. The house fee goes into the front desk cash register, and the services fee goes right into the girls' purse. There must be some accounting going on, but the purpose of my visit wasn't to audit the books.

The girls make, in my estimation, anywhere from A$250 to A$1500 per night (A$140 to A$200 per client-hour). Which is a far cry from tending cash register at minimum wage for Target.

My only advice to the lovely girls I've met or others in this profession would be to be certain to save at least 10% of your money and in addition get some education in something else you enjoy doing, because the lucrative cash flow can't last forever.

Cheers

apparently 'ranting' is a deeper form of thought than just answering a simple question.

NO WONDER another LIE from Bush (one that he repeats frequently) is accepted by the corporate media without a peep...CBS is too busy with their 'most popular stories': Cheerleader prostitution, escaped convict, 3 star meal, beef recall...

Here's this weeks Bush LIE:

BUSH: "As you might remember back then, we tried the diplomatic route: [U.N. Resolution] 1441 was a unanimous vote in the Security Council that said disclose, disarm or face serious consequences. So the choice was his [Hussein%u2019s] to make. And he made a choice that has subsequently caused him to lose his life.%u201D

FACT: Saddam DID disclose that he had NO WMDs
FACT: Saddam DID let in a huge UN inspection team that had complete access to what ever they wanted to look into. Remember Hans Blix and his team?
FACT: Inspectors were ACTIVELY working any leads, when BUSH had them pulled out just prior to his Invasion.
FACT: Bush/Cheney LIED about WMDs not Saddam.

Folks, we are ALREADY living in an Orwellian world, where a "War President" can completely re-write history and the corporate ministry of truth accepts it as fact. Where Osama can be morphed into Saddam.

JAIL BUSH JAIL CHENEY for LYING us into a needless, horrific War that has cost 3,500 US troops, $500 BILLION (so far), and has left us less safe.

In other words, your opinion of prostitutes is taken from one of Jerry Falwell's sermons. (or some other windbag charlatan spouting off about that which he knows nothing).

Rather than me telling you how legalized prostitution works, read about it for yourself by searching on "Nevada Prostitution."

Nevada prostitutes do not have pimps, have never been infected with AIDS and are independent contractors.

I have found very few people who enjoyed any job, especially menial jobs in corporate profit machines such as Walmart or McD's.

So, according to you people who are abused as children who accept employment as counter help at Walmart or McD's will be much happier than women who work as prostitutes? We disagree.

I reject your Jerry Falwell sermon inspired comments given the fact they are based on religious propaganda unrelated to facts.
