Photo Essay A Year Of Lohan The young actress ends a whirl of activity by entering rehab. Here's a glance at her year.
"I spoke to the people treating Lindsay because I want to make sure she is getting the right care," Michael Lohan told E! Online's The Planet Gossip co-host Tina Dirmann. "And I'm satisfied they are doing the right thing for her, helping her detox from painkillers and things. That's a very important step."
Michael Lohan, who was released from New York's Collins Correctional Facility in March after serving nearly two years on attempted assault and other charges, has had his own battles with addiction.
He went to bible college while behind bars and became a minister with the Assemblies of God Ministry.

"I learned they use the 12-step program, which includes a lot of lessons bases on God's teachings, so I was satisfied with that," he said. "First she needs to get clean, then she needs to let God in her life."
Meanwhile, authorities conducting undercover operations at trendy celebrity watering holes in recent weeks want to know if Lindsay Lohan, who's still underage, was served alcohol before a weekend car crash. California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control investigators also want to know if Lohan or others were served after hours, agency spokesman John Carr said.
Videos show Lohan leaving Hollywood's Les Deux club at 3:30 a.m. Alcohol cannot be served in California after 2 a.m.
The Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control told the Beverly Hills Police Department it wants to review witness reports and other evidence to determine if a formal investigation is warranted, Carr said.
Les Deux owner Lonnie Moore said Lohan had dinner and wasn't drinking.
"Because of the enormous paparazzi presence outside of Les Deux that night, we allowed her to stay late and wait for her friends," according to a statement released by Moore.
Lohan was arrested for investigation of driving under the influence. Her publicist announced the actress entered a rehabilitation facility on Monday.
"We have a duty to check on these things whenever there's a report of a minor involved in a crash," Carr said, noting "underage drinking is a huge problem in the state of California."
Some 1,574 people were killed in alcohol-related vehicle crashes last year and about 200 involved underage drinking.
There have been 10 recent enforcement operations involving Alcoholic Beverage Control and Los Angeles police officers checking Los Angeles-area clubs, Carr said. The agency has four investigators in Los Angeles.
Club Teddy's at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood paid a $3,000 fine on May 4 for accusations last year that it sold contaminated beverages and sold alcohol after hours, Carr said.
There's also a pending investigation now in the hearing process against Hollywood Boulevard's Club Mood, another popular nightspot for young Hollywood, Carr said.Photos: Celebrity Mug Shots
There are no pending ABC enforcement actions against Les Deux.
"We do investigate any time we get complaints when someone underage is being served. Anyone under the age of 21 cannot be sold alcohol in California."
If they do, Carr said it can result in a fine, suspension of the club's ABC license to sell liquor or revocation of its liquor license.

Lindsay isn't 21 yet. She's 21 in July so this is underage drinking and driving. And who cares if she were 21, it's okay for her to drive drunk? - Reply to this comment

I have read all of the posts on this topic and I actually disagree that these news stories are not worthy of reporting.
Whether we know who she is or not - obviously many do.
The Iraq war is not the only news worthy topic to be reported in the U.S. - the drug and alcohol abuse topics are very important to be evaluated as our young people have such a high percentage of addiction. The social and essential issues that are affected by this topic are enormous.
The previous rehab obviously was not effective in helping LL. My understanding is that they rarely do on the first "go round"...
Issues that need evaluated by following this story include:
the differences in methods each celeb is treated vs. the way our everyday underprivledged teens and young adults are treated.
How can these issues be better handled in the future??? (Monitor the failures and evaluate reasons for failure)...
How can we more effectively address the war on drugs and crime?- Reply to this comment
- You people dish out so much gargage even the gossip columns have sunk to knew lows if that is possible!! I think the whole thing is retarded with all these teeny bopper celebrities splashed over every major newstand its like who cares already!!!!! They are children for godsakes, learning about life and doing what everyone else did at their age except with a lot more money. Leave them alone this adult obsession with these young girls borders on perverted. Why doesn't anyone ever talk about that? Get back to the interesting celebrities like Angelina, Brad, and for example Ellen Barkin, real men and women. Look toward the classy stars out there. This is not tean beat, and it isnt' high school!!!!

Ummm, this is an entertainment story about a f***ed up Hollywood loser addict. Why do you have to go and throw Iraq into it?? There are plenty of other websites more applicable to your political *********. Next thing you know, there will be a story on puppies or cute kids or something, and you'll want to compare it to Iraq. Get a life already. - Reply to this comment

- There is one flaw with the father's story- federal HIPAA laws would prevent any facility from releasing any information without the patient's permission. Granted, I do not know if Lindsey did or did not grant permission for her father to be informed. From previous media events, it sounds as though Lindsay had nothing to do with her father. I have a suspicion that "father" is getting what time he can in the limelight. Either way, Hollywood will always be Hollywood...

- How many Americans have died in Iraq to date? 2000? 3000? Any clue? Probably not. 3471 sound familiar? No its not how many autographs Lindsay has signed.
How many AMERICANS killed or injured in Iraq as of 12-11-07? The number 25,000 ring a bell?
You people are more concerned with these kind of stupid star *** stories than you are about your country.
Cindy Sheehan was right, American cares more about the next American Idol that they do about a useless and unending war, and the way our civil rights are eroding. - Reply to this comment
- Lindsay Lohan is just 21 years old.
I remember how crazy I was at that age.
Ms. Lohan deserves a little more compassion than she is receiving in the media spotlight. She does have considerable talent. "Mean Girls" was one of her best performances - a very good film.
I wish her the best. - Reply to this comment
- i wonder if the ...editors, or whoever is in charge of these sites ever reads the comments. if they did, they would realize that 90% of us DON'T CARE ABOUT THESE LOSERS!!! hell, i don't even know who she is... the only thing i have heard about her is that she's some kind of a drunk/drugie brat... famous parents? anyway, all of the 'national' news shows are worthless. i guess it is easier to reguritate this *** than it is to do actual journalism. entertainment and sports ARE NOT NEWS!!!! watch hte news hour with jim lehrer...

- There are many stories about celebs who go into "rehab" after some scandal surfaces. I have yet to read a story where the rehab actually works for them, other than as a PR stunt.

- LL is coasting til she turns 21...she should been seriously penalized by now and the clubs/people giving her the booze/drugs should be up on charges as well. It's the whole mentality in Hollywood...they blow so much sunshine up these a..s..s..e..s that they don't even see the problems right in front of them. PR people are paid to keep them in the spotlight...period. They could care less about them personally. LL has no support from family because they've made excuse after excuse for her and she knows it. The sooner she hits rock bottom the more chance she has of turning things around. Until then she's a trainwreck everyone is bound to watch derail. If anyone really did care they would have clipped her wings about 3 years ago. She's a cash cow.

- I am beginning to think that the so called 're-habs' these celebs use is nothing more than a place togo hide ot, where they can say the attended rehab, like an exclusive hide out for them, so they can look like there doing something good, while there actually just hiding from there public mistakes and appease judges, to avoid stiffer penalties, that given there status, may or may not be given. Atleast they are putting Hilton behind bars, gives her 2 days of not being able to publically induce our children who idolize these law breaking freaks, so that when a nobody kid breaks the law, they think its ok, because thats all they hear on TV, there is no punishment for your actions.

- There are more important people and issues than these bleached losers.
They also get paid well because of the pressures that go with the job. And that job itself is remarkably little so, heck yeah, it gets tiring to hear. - Reply to this comment

I agree with everything you said except: "The rehabs where Lohan and Spears went, also failed miserably."
The problem is that if the people that go there don't really want help or choose not to stay for the whole time that they should be there, there isn't much they can do about it. I think that Lohan and Spears along with a lot of other people go into rehab because they are forced to either by people around them or to not go to jail. I don't think they really believe they have a problem that they can deal with on their own. It takes them awhile to figure it out. - Reply to this comment
