Follow the career, politics and personal life of entertainer Rosie O'Donnell.

(CBS/AP)  Rosie O'Donnell is known for speaking her mind, but she tells The Showbuzz exclusively that when words become too heated, she gets creative.

In a video posted on her blog Friday morning, O'Donnell used collages of photos and newspaper articles showing her year on ABC's "The View."

O'Donnell explains in an e-mail to The Showbuzz, written in verse, how crafting is getting her through the aftermath of last week's early exit from ABC's "The View" following an on-air argument with co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck:
sometimes
when the words become too incendiary
as they come from me

i look to images
what i feel
part here
there
this that
sewn together
taped
stapled

something out of nothing

scraps
what is already done
becomes somehow new
and old
at once

a memory
In a separate video entry posted on her blog Saturday night, O'Donnell says Hasselbeck called after their now-infamous argument on "The View" and spoke to O'Donnell's partner Kelli. But O'Donnell says she didn't speak to Hasselbeck and "probably won't." She says they exchanged e-mails.

O'Donnell quit "The View" after she called Hasselbeck "cowardly" for not defending her when critics said she compared U.S. troops to terrorists.

During the argument, the director used a split screen with O'Donnell on one side and Hasselbeck on the other. She says when she saw the split screen that's when she "knew it was over." She has said it made "The View" look like "The Jerry Springer Show."

She said that she regretted one aspect of her rushed exit:

"The sad thing is you don't get to say goodbye to the staff people that you love," said O'Donnell, praising the show's producers.

She also noted that the rumor she trashed her dressing room before leaving wasn't true, joking that her partner Kelli says she's too lazy to trash anything. "I've never trashed anything, frankly," said O'Donnell.

Rosie needs to read the 29 page comment-thread from last weeks showbuzz article "Will rosie leave the view early?" Rosie, are you listening? Rosie, go read last weeks comment thread. You dont like the war? You're entitled to your opinion. BUT read that thread, and you will see I provided some facts you and the whacko-fringe liberals conveniently ignore.

you reap what you sew...

If it's such a wise saying, why don't you quote it correctly?

Reap what you SOW.

there is a wise saying you reap what you sew and that is what Rosie is doing. I hope she will take some real quality time and reflect on becoming a better person! Rosie there is nothing wrong with your passions but it is how you express them. Also you should know how to debate now gracefully and also know that there will always be someone more qualified, but they can never take your place! In me saying this to you hold your head up and fight the good fightI think you can come back a winner but you must go deep into yourself and really ask yourself before you speak is this what I believe? If the answer is yes then do it with gusto and not with ignorance! God Bless...

when a father doesn't protect his little daughter they grow up to be tough and fighting rosies.

rosies mother died when rosie was 10 i think.

rosies parents were married, but men across this nation need to ask themselves if they are "sperm donors" and just leave little girls (and boys) on the doorstep etc....how many of them grow up to be very tough on the surface, yet hurting on the inside little fighting rosies?

I agree with bugzaboo1 - will she just ever shut up and go away. Maybe she can craft herself a personality in her spare time . . . . one without any audio, please! I could never stand her, and it's got nothing to do with her being gay, but everything to do with her nasty, ugly, offensive outlook (and look).

I wouldn't want Elizabeth for a friend anyway. I hate what Republicans are doing to America. Elizabeth is the dumbest woman on the View. All she knows is party line. She can't adjust her thoughts beyond party line.

Will he/she EVER go away? I can't take another minute of looking at her nasty face. She needs a hobby. Perhaps she can take a LONG vacation on one of her lesbian cruises and leave the rest of us alone. Rosie, you are one of the most untalented and annoying persons EVER to walk the face of the earth. GOOD RIDDANCE TO BAD RUBBAGE.

Gosh, calling people deviants makes me wonder about your anger and the source. If you can't say anything good, say nothing. Perhaps, Agnim should clean his/her own closet. Compassion and understand rule........J

Rosie has no one else to blame but herself! She was way too opinionated and she knows what Elisabeth stands for and Elisabeth backs up everything she says and is a very intelligent woman (not as dumb as Donald Trump makes her out to be and shame on you Donald!)...Rosie spoke openly about the war and made some terrible remarks about it whereas Elisabeth stands for it and her reasons why and Rosie can't accept that....I am in total agreement with Elisabeth and back her up 100 percent!!! Rosie is just feeling sorry for herself and was way out of her league on this show...she's a very good comedian and should just stick to that!

"Also on Friday, the network said that promotional photos of Hasselbeck that hang in "The View's" offices had been defaced but did not say by whom. However, the New York Post reported that Janette Barber, O'Donnell's chief writer, was escorted from the building after she was caught drawing moustaches on the photos."

What a bunch of classy ladies. Good bye fat cow! Although watching you make a fool out of yourself was fun, at least now I don't have to worry about you fouling the airwaves with your distorted view of reality.

Whether she was fired or quit, this must be a painful and low time for her. The feeling of failure cuts deep. Hope her family can carry her through this difficult time. The bashing on this forum is pouring salt in a deep wound...

I feel Rosie made the best choice under the circumstances. Elisabeth could have defended Rosie or at the very least told others to ask Rosie to explain in more detail the situation. I would expect my "friend" to show support in this way. However I think they should have been more professional and discussed it back-stage privately before saying anything on stage. Now both sides are hurt unfortunately.
