Manson: Divorce Left Me With "No Soul"

(CBS/AP)  Marilyn Manson says he was devastated over the breakup of his marriage to model and burlesque dancer Dita Von Teese.

"I was completely destroyed. I had no soul left," the 38-year-old glitzy goth rocker says in Spin magazine's June issue, on newsstands May 29. "I define myself as a person, a human, an artist, as someone who makes things — writing, painting, music — and I couldn't do anything."

Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, married Von Teese in November 2005. She filed for divorce last December.

"She said she had tolerated the lifestyle because she hoped I would change and threatened to leave if I didn't," Manson says.

"I was sleeping on the couch in my own home. I was no longer supposed to be a rock star. I was someone who had to be apologized for. I wasn't prepared to be alone. I came out of this naked, a featherless bird."

2His outlook changed when his friendship with 19-year-old actress Evan Rachel Wood turned romantic. He tells the magazine he was impressed when she said she would die for him.

"It might sound strange, but this made me want to live," he says.

Wood, whose screen credits include "Thirteen" and "Running With Scissors," was quoted in the story as saying, "Boys in eye makeup are the greatest thing ever — that whole androgynous thing."

Sources told People magazine in January that Manson's relationship with Wood played a part in his split from his wife.

Manson's new album, "Eat Me, Drink Me," is slated for release June 5.

My mother gave us two good pieces of advice when we were growing up: 1) Get 'em young and raise 'em to suit you, 2) Don't pick that up, you don't know where it's been. Seems Marilyn might be my long lost brother (oooh, ick) because he sure took the 1st one, didn't he? And, he totally ignored the 2nd one with Miss VonTeese - Mom's advice was usually pretty good, but #1 was a stinker then, and it's a stinker now. Hey, Brian, or Marilyn or whatever, get a real woman, not a little girl or a two-bit hooker look-alike; you might be a lot happier in the long run.....

I can't believe this nerdy guy I went to church camp in junior high has grabbed the fame and headlines the way he did. At least he didn't become a crazy gunman like some of my friends at the time, predicted. I'm sure he's working on a "featherless bird" outfit as we speak.

Boohoo....too bad he couldn't handle a real woman and a mature relationship. What happens when his new "girlfriend" grows out of her rock star worshipping phase (remember Rose Mcgowan? yeah, she grew up and moved on too). I used to be a Manson fan, and although I still appreciate his music, this mid-life crisis is just pathetic. BTW, the new video.....EWWW! Can we say over-compensation? Grow up, grow a set, or go away.

Always better to mate a much YOUNGER FEMALE.

Old women your age are like 'mom'; they are likely to be inclined to play the role of controllers and waste your time.
Why bother with a female that no male wanted in her youth? You are looking for trouble. And Mr Goth got trouble. LOL
