Activists Building "Noah's Ark" In Turkey
Environmental activists are building a replica of Noah's Ark on Mount Ararat — where the original Biblical Ark is said to have landed after the great flood — in an appeal to world leaders to take action against global warming, Greenpeace said Wednesday.
Turkish and German volunteer carpenters are making the wooden ship on the mountain in eastern Turkey, bordering Iran. The Ark will be revealed in a ceremony on May 31, a day after Greenpeace activists climb the mountain and call on world leaders to take action to tackle climate change, Greenpeace said.
"Climate change is real, it's happening now and unless world leaders take urgent, decisive and far-reaching action, the next decades will see human misery on a scale not experienced in modern times," said Greenpeace activist Hilal Atici. "Those leaders have a mandate from the people ... to massively cut greenhouse gas emissions and to do it now."
"This Ark sends that clear message on behalf of all the world's citizens," she said.
Many countries are struggling to address global and national standards for carbon reduction. This week, U.N. delegates are meeting in Germany to prepare for December negotiations on a new set of international rules for controlling greenhouse gas emissions. The new accord would succeed the Kyoto Protocol, which ends in 2012.
Climate change will also be on the agenda when the Group of Eight major industrialized countries — the United States, Britain, France, Germany, Japan, Italy, Canada and Russia — meet in Germany in June.

"... some 'Judeao-Christian'" -- what is that??? Is it similar to a Christo-Muslim? Or maybe a Buddhi-Hindu? Labeling someone by lumping together disparate religions into a hyphenated chimera makes absolutely no sense, and only serves to highlight your own ignorance.
There are such things as Judeo-Christian values -- ethical concepts shared by both religions -- but there is no such thing as a "Judeo-Christian".
Think before you write.
jimfinster and Randall, closed minds are found on all sides of the political and religious spectrum, not just the conservative side.
We all have biases, it's just that some won't admit to theirs and try to pretend they don't have them.
I still say this story should be under "Strange News" not Sci Tech.
...
Guess it just doesn't fit the lib agenda.
Considering that there never really was a real Noah's Ark, I wonder what they're using as a model? I know the dimensions are listed in Genesis, but it doesn't go into much detail.

Absolutely! Their minds are as closed as a Baptist preacher once they latch on to an idea, myth or not.
Duh yourself. You should actually read the Mars article you posted. It indicates that warming on mars is NOT related to warming on earth.
You would be embarrased if you weren't so clueless.
jim, water vapour is a greenhouse gas too, isn't it? And what part of the atmosphere is water vapour? 95% or more?
And CO2 is only about 1/4th of 1 percent of the atmosphere, and supposedly if it increases by 1/4th of that 1/4th of 1 percent we're all gonna die.
I'm not too worried.
DUUUUUUHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
This whole global warming is a bunch of BS.
