"I am so excited to share with you guys that I've adopted a little boy. He was born two weeks ago," Crow announced on her Web site Friday.
She told fans the boy's name "is Wyatt (after my dad) Steven (after my little brother and Scooter) and we are enjoying some very private family time."
Her publicist Dave Tomberlin wouldn't give further details.
This is the first child for Crow, 45, who underwent breast cancer surgery in February 2006.
That same month, she and cycling champion Lance Armstrong announced that they had broken up their engagement. It would have been her first marriage and the second for Armstrong. The pair met in October 2003 and began dating shortly after.Photos: Celebrity Parents

- I agree; the details of the baby are suspiciously absent, particularly given the recent press of other narcissistic celebs who go out of their way to say they've shopped Ethiopia, China, or wherever else acting like second rate gods demanding to be bowed down to.
On the other hand, adoption is adoption - period and the lack of detail suggests it's about the child and not HER personal status so much. Who cares where the kid is from if all the parties agree she'll be a good mother. End of story, case closed. - Reply to this comment
- I admire her for giving a baby a home! A lot of these celebrities should be adopting rather than having another one themselves! And adding to the world's population!

- Oh, come on! Not another celebrity adoption...please! Let me guess, the baby is from some third world country and she's tryin to keep her name in the news.

- Sheryl Crow should not be raising this baby all by herself. So I'm coming to the rescue. Sheryl, should you, baby Wyatt, and I live at my place on the East Coast, or at your place on the West Coast? (Fortunately, I'm not having a very hard time modifying my Sheryl-and-me fantasy by adding a baby to the arrangement.)
