Spiders Found In Oregon Boy's Ear

(AP)  These guys were not exactly Snap, Crackle and Pop.

What began as a faint popping in a 9-year-old boy's ear — "like Rice Krispies" — ended up as an earache, and the doctor's diagnosis was that a pair of spiders made a home in the ear.

"They were walking on my eardrums," Jesse Courtney said.

One of the spiders was still alive after the doctor flushed the fourth-grader's left ear canal. His mother, Diane Courtney, said her son insisted he kept hearing a faint popping in his ear — "like Rice Krispies."

Dr. David Irvine said it looked like the boy had something in his ear when he examined him.

When he irrigated the ear, the first spider came out, dead. The other spider took a second dousing before it emerged, still alive. Both were about the size of a pencil eraser.

Jesse was given the spiders — now both dead — as a souvenir. He has taken them to school and his mother has taken them to work.

Maybe the spiders were relatives of Charlett (of Charletts Web) and were going to give him secrets of the universe.

summerbug65,

You need to understand that you can say NO. They make the decision not he recuriter. They sign the contract. Please let people take personal responbility for their actions not blame someone else. That is the problem with America today.

At least they were removed before it got really bad. I hate spiders... _ .

BTW. Yall need to stop spamming the comments.
Stay on the topic. This has NOTHING to do with the war. And those that are saying that the kid needs to bathe more ... Yall should shut up. It could happen to you.

Why is it that some people have to bring politics into everything?? Those are the same people you avoid at parties, and the workplace... But they seem to be unavoidable! Keep your politics to yourself, or at least to the political news stories!

so i can't spell momma....baa baa..............at least my kids are clean............no bugs!!!!as for you SPeBob, you need a lesson!!!!!!!!N E Way, I think "bugs" are not our concern here........... the important thing needing addressing is the fact that the government is really pressing our children to fight a battle that cannot be won. Not by us. Our people need to come home, and Bush needs to get off his high horse and admit, he made a Mistake. I don't care what they do(IRAQ)....they are not here. We cannot take care of our own.....people buying baby formula w/WIC? People buying food w/foodstamps???
I am in retail......I see them everyday. Look pretty employable to me. Believe me, they can get a job like the rest of us. They buy what they can w/ their wic/foodstamps, then they return for cash. HELLO GOVERNMENT!!! Are you really that stupid????????????They are lazy, kids end up in placement. Then.....it's twice the payment, for the gov't. And,our taxes too......

i agree with you on that. recruiters should not be allowed in our schools, influencing our kids, and yes, brainwashing them. Some teenagers, are having difficulties in the "modern" day, growing up, with all the "***" going on. They don't know who they are or where they want to be. Because, everywhere they look, there is a recruiter coming after them. They aren't supposed to be harrassed that way. especially, at school. should be a recruiter free school zone, LMAO!! by the way, were we born the same year??
