Cops: Ex-Idol Finalist Busted For Drugs

Former "American Idol" finalist Jessica Sierra has posted bond after being arrested overnight on felony charges in Tampa, Florida. Police arrested the 21-year-old singer on charges of aggravated assault after she allegedly struck a man during an argument around 2 a.m. Sunday.

While being booked into the jail, police say they found cocaine in Sierra's purse, and she was subsequently charged with two additional felony counts of cocaine possession and introduction of contraband into a detention facility.

She was later transferred to another jail facility on Falkenburg Road in Tampa and posted $11,500 bond at noon Sunday. A booking sergeant at the facility where she was booked says she must appear in court within the next month.

Sierra was a contestant during the 2005 season of Fox's American Idol.

And in response to feedback3: how in Heaven's name does people's "being kept up to date on everything that happens to our idols" help Sanjaya or any of the other people we watch on tv or in sports or any other arena, for that matter? Does your watching that poor kid make a fool of himself on national tv keep him any safer? Does it prevent him or any of the others from making bad choices and doing regrettable things? I think not - you just want to feel "connected" and important in their lives in some way. Try getting a life of your own, why don't you....

Ooooh, here we go - let's bring Sanjaya into this. No connection at all, other than she was on AI also, and she had minimal talent also, and yada-yada-yada. You have a CHOICE to start using drugs, and obviously, she made her choice. Ship her to rehab and get on with a real story, not this non-story.

When Jessica was a contestant for AI, all of Tampa was following her ride, not just because she was from Tampa, but because she is related to the Mayor of Tampa. Reading about her this morning I don't see where anyone has written in the connection. It's a shame that anyone with talent such as she, has fallen into the world of drugs. People state that they don't care.. well, that's half the problem of today, we need to care. We need to care about the children of tomorrow. One way or another, drugs will effect you or a family member if something isn't done to stop this rampage. We, as American's need to open up our eyes and realize the need to give America back to God and to stop trying so desperatly to run the show without HIS help.

How are we going to protect Sanjaya from negative influences if we are not kept up to date on everything that happens with our idols?!!!

Hair today, gone tomorrow? I don't think so!

Not much of a story. Over-hyped by press because she was on 'Idol' two years ago.
