(CBS)  Jeff Glor was named anchor of the Saturday edition of the CBS Evening News in February 2009. Glor also reports as a National Correspondent for all CBS News broadcasts.

Glor has been a national correspondent for CBS News' The Early Show since April 2007.

In that position, Glor has covered many major domestic and international stories. He reported from Baghdad, Iraq, where he was embedded with U.S. soldiers and conducted a one-on-one interview with Gen. David Petraeus. Glor traveled to China in August 2008 to cover the Beijing Olympic Games, and to St. Paul, Minn., for the Republican National Convention, where he was The Early Show's primary correspondent on the convention floor. In April 2008, Glor was a lead member of the CBS News team that covered Pope Benedict XVI’s historic visits to Washington, D.C., and New York City.

Before joining CBS News, Glor served as the weekend evening news anchor and a weekday reporter for WHDH-TV Boston (2003-07). He covered many national news stories, including the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens; the Pope’s death from Rome, in 2005; and the hearings on steroid use in Major League Baseball from Washington, D.C.

Prior to that, Glor was the co-anchor of WSTM-TV Syracuse's 5 p.m. newscast and a reporter for the 11 p.m. newscast (2000-03), as well as the morning news anchor (1997-2000). During that time, the ratings improved and Glor’s newscast became the No. 1 morning program in the market. Among the national stories he covered while in Syracuse were the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, from New York City, and the first anniversary of the attacks and the crash of Flight 587 in Queens, N.Y. He also reported live from Toronto when the Pope visited there in 2002. Glor began his journalism career in 1997 as the station’s news writer while attending college. While in Central N.Y., he was named "Best Male News Anchor" by the Syracuse New Times, one of the 40 most promising professionals under the age of 40, and he served as a contributing researcher and writer on "The Legal Handbook for N.Y. State Journalists."

Glor was born in Tonawanda, N.Y., just outside Buffalo. He was graduated magna cum laude from Syracuse University in 1997 with dual degrees in journalism, from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, and in economics from the College of Arts and Sciences. Glor was awarded the Henry J. Wolff prize, given to the Newhouse student "most proficient in journalism."
