How lucky can a person be! To have met someone of that calibre so early in your life and in his political career makes me jealous!
Best wishes to Betty! May your recovery be quick and smooth, and may you return to good health soon.

I wished I'd realized at the time what an honor it was. :-) My grandfather had a road contracting business in Grand Rapids so he had regular dealings with Jerry Ford and the Fords had dinner at his house a few times. I was lucky enough to meet them then. The thing that still strikes me about them is, as I said, how real they were. Jerry was a genuinely nice man. Both of them had no pretensions and were really what you see is what you get. I was serving in the Air Force when Jerry became Vice-President and the first time I was old enough to vote in a presidential election I voted for him for president in 1976. Only time I have ever voted republican in my life! lol!
Best to you Betty! Here's hoping you have many more years to come!

By the way the first time i was able to vote for a president was 1976 and I voted for Jerry. Of course it was the only time I ever voted republican since then because they just stopped making real republicans like him.
The Washington Post on Friday said the report, which had been issued in summary form in February, drew on "captured Iraqi documents" and "interrogations of Saddam Hussein and two former aides" which "all confirmed" that Saddam and al Qaeda were not working together prior to the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq.
