Israeli PM Asks All Arab Leaders To Talk

Olmert Proposes Regional Peace Conference To Exchange Ideas

(AP)  Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert on Sunday invited Arab leaders to a regional peace conference, saying that he hoped for an exchange of views about solving the Arab-Israeli conflict.

He said each side would bring its own demands, and neither would try to dictate terms.

Speaking at a joint news conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who is the current head of the European Union, he said, "I would even take advantage of this important opportunity to be with the EU president to invite all Arab heads of state, including the king of Saudi Arabia, to a meeting for a dialogue."

Last week at a summit in Saudi Arabia, the Arab League renewed a 2002 Saudi peace plan that would give Israel recognition in exchange for withdrawal from all captured territories and a just solution for the Palestinian refugees. Olmert welcomed the decision, saying it showed a major change in the way Arab states viewed Israel, but he said Israel did not accept all parts of the plan.

In a series of interviews over the weekend, Olmert said he would welcome talks with Saudi Arabia and moderate Arab leaders, but at the time stopped far short of calling for a peace conference.

Olmert also denied reports of a planned coordinated offensive in which the U.S. would attack Iran and Israel would hit Syria and Lebanon at the same time.

Olmert dismissed the idea, calling it "a plan we don't know of. It is baseless, and an unfounded rumor with no foundation. I hope no one will operate on the basis of unfounded rumor to create a move that would have no reason to drag us into" a conflict.

A spokeperson for the Carter Center announced last week. "I believe we must protect both the holy sites as well as the Christians who have lived for nearly 2 thousand years there, but have recently been forced to leave by the PLO and Islamic extremist. Many have been killed. " Carter said (holding back tears) while boarding a passenger plane he helped to build the night before, on its way to Jordan.

A brave man of PEACE. Olmert deserves the PEACE PRIZE !

Olmert is one of the true leaders and brave men of this century who is risking his political position to search for peace, even when his enemies say death to all Jews. That this man is still a believer in the very glimmer of hope is astounding to the human spirit, and borders on sainthood. He is a shining example of man's spirit to dream of a better life for all .

Olmert, too , is a serious person and recognises the dangers his neighbors harbor for him and his young country. It would be easier to just fight, and do the same as the enemy- target innocent children and women- retaliate when attacked, as they are with rockets on a daily basis. But no, this man of peace is reaching out for dialogue. G-D bless him.

Now it is time for the Arabs to do the same. Why the heck not ? Do you not love your children ? Give up the war mentality. Let your people have freedom of the press, let your women have freedom, bring light where there is darkness. Let Jews live in your lands without persecution. Let homosexuallls live openly. What are you afraid of beside yourself. IS there a secret self fear of something here forbidden ???

You know it is possible that this troll is an American. I've traveled through the hills of Kentucky a few times and it's amazing to see some of the inbred idiots they have up in those mountains.
