Who's Who 2008 Republican Hopefuls McCain and Giuliani head up the Republican pack chasing the presidency.
While there is no indication that Pace's job is in jeopardy, Brownback's letter to Bush said "personal moral beliefs" should not disqualify anyone from a position of leadership in the U.S. military.
"General Pace's recent remarks do not deserve the criticism they have received," the letter said. "In fact, we applaud General Pace for maintaining a personal commitment to moral principles."
Pace said he supports "don't ask, don't tell," something Brownback said is "an appropriate policy."
Brownback, a favorite of the religious right, has been a prominent opponent of gay marriage.
Brownback spokesman Brian Hart said the senator was working Thursday to get other lawmakers to sign his letter. Hart said Brownback's office would not disclose who has signed on to the letter until there is "a final count."
On his campaign bus in Iowa on Thursday, Sen. John McCain (news, bio, voting record), R-Ariz., declined to comment when asked whether he agreed with Gen. Peter Pace's comment that homosexuality was immoral. He said he still backs the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy. "It's working."
Another Republican candidate, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, who has been criticized for changing his views on gay rights to conform with conservative views, said he thought Pace's comments were "inappropriate for public discourse."
"He can believe what he wants to, that's the great thing about America — believe in what you want. But in a governmental setting, the right way to go is to show more of an outpouring of tolerance," Romney said on CNN's "Larry King Live."
He said he didn't think the "don't ask, don't tell policy" made a lot of sense, but added he wouldn't change it now.

- No one is interested in what a member of the Republicrap Party has got to say about the morality of ANYTHING. They gave up the right to comment on morality when the fiftieth member of their 'party of Lincoln' was caught buggering a child.
Same goes for that ignorant 'warrior' general/murderer who thinks he has a right to point out immorality in others.
Go kill a little kid, general death. - Reply to this comment
- Some points:
1. It would be IMPOSSIBLE to believe that being homosexual is a choice, unless one has had to make that choice.
2. Anger arises from fear or a feeling of threat. Ergo - Agnim is afraid of or is threatened by homosexuality.
3. Given the above two points, Agnim is afraid of homosexuality because on some level it is a viable choice for him or her. He/She is afraid of something that his upbringing has taught him is repulsive - and he/she doesn't want to be repulsive.
4. Agnim will respond to this post in a volitile, profanity laced, (a maximum of two syllable words) post, denying the plausibility and veracity, but simultaneously proving my point. - Reply to this comment

Even if that childish reasoning (if we can even call 'reasoning' the baby talk of a mentally deficient f@g) could be true, then we would be doing our part to rid the environment of the nasty and societally worthless behavior of homosexuality, which has been increasing the abuse on CHILDREN within and without the christian churches! - Reply to this comment

If you think the f@gs won't be dropped from the force or 'dropped' by real soldiers who rightly WILL NOT endure f@gs around them, then why don't you dare the filth-stirring f@gs to 'tell', even if 'asked'? LOL - Reply to this comment
- I've heard an estimate that no less than 65,000 military personnel are G/L. If they're so sure of their "moral high ground", Are Pace and Brownback willing to ask all those troops to leave the military? I don't think so. It's easy to call someone names, but it looks pretty stupid considering these guys would never actually drop that many people from our forces, no matter what their pompous holier-than-thou mouths say.

I am a very gay man.
I am also a Republican.
I did not choose to be gay but was born this way.
You did not choose to be the sexuality that you are either. Or did you?
To be who you are is not sinful. To be anything other than the person that God made you to be is.
This hateful and intolerant side of the Republican party troubles me deeply. I think that they are becoming too beholden to extreme elements within our society.
It's time that we, as a party, return to our roots and the core values that have broad apeal rather than practicing the politics of hate, bigotry and division.- Reply to this comment
- Let me add another point here: nobody, and I mean NOBODY is threatened by the sexuality of attractive lesbians.
Posted by feelfree1 at 05:12 PM : Mar 16, 2007
Oh I don't know about that! I MIGHT be threatened by the sexuality of attractive lesbians. Of course I won't know for sure without extensive and very detailed research into this subject. Very extensive. Very detailed. Until I'm exposed to it over and over and over and over again just to be sure! Of course this would be a great burden and risk on me, but still, if it'll better mankind...I...I...I'm willing to give it a try! - Reply to this comment
- Hatred of G@ys is almost always caused by a persons own insecurities and weakness relating to thier own sexuality, Gaye and Agmorn obviously are overcompensating for fears about thier own sexual nature.

I live on the Hollywood/West Hollywood line and have many g*ay friends I could introduce them to. Of course they all hate bigoted as*sholes so it might be a bit awkward at first. Until they came out of the closet anyway. - Reply to this comment

I'm sorry that your childhood created such fears, hatreds, and anger. But you need to worry more about becomming comfortable with yourselves and concern yourself less with others you could never understand. Your hangups should not ever become someone elses obsticles, unless of course thier your sexual partner, if you have one.

Agnim is a troll. He/she/it doesn't have a real opinion that he/she/it posts here. To him/her/it this is a game, like a video game. He/she/it reads the posts in a particular thread, then thinks of the most ignorant, vile and outrageous thing to say (most times not very creatively) and then says it to see what kind of reaction he/she/it can get. It has nothing to do with reasoned discussion or debate. It's all about stirring the sh*it. When he/she it gets a reaction of outrageousness back, he/she/it gets off. To put it more crudely he/she it has a sort of mental ***. I know there are some here who get on me because I point the trolls out, but if you watch closely it's only the trolls themselves. Trolls don't like to be exposed (sort of like roaches hen you turn on a light) because they're afraid no one will play with them anymore, which of course means they can't play with themselves. Sad and sick really. - Reply to this comment
- Hating people for no reason other than thier "GOD GIVEN INDIVIDUALITY" is the most immoral thing we know. These people ARE NOT CHRISTIANS in the sense that I was taught in Sunday school, they are hatefull bigots who use peoples differences against them. Jesus loves the little children, "All the children of the World". or he doesn't, in which case we should not allow tax free status for these institutions supporting the continuation of hate crimes and inequality under the law.

- Torture, racism, intolerance, being judgemental, rudeness, and illegal war are all okay, but being gay is immoral? Agnim, you're the stupidest hypocrite I've ever heard of, and indeed you're too stupid to even see the contradiction. Go away so that reasonable, non-retarded people don't have to read your 3rd-grade educated "opinions." Perhaps you should read a book, or go to h*e*ll or something, fool.

Suicide is a honorable route out of f@g 'hurt' for those who can't wait for a real cure.
And many a good f@gs have taken the path of suicide, for its....

I know how you must feel with the name that indicate deviance and perversion.
I was a bit incensed at the hijacking of that lovely word by the filth-stirring f@gs also.
Decent citizens can't be caught using the word 'gay' anymore. LOL - Reply to this comment

- Sorry Gaye, lying as you have done doesn't gain you any respect. Every piece of information you posted has been thoroughly proven false, which makes it a lie for you to continue spreading it.
Stop spreading lies about something you know nothing about, please. - Reply to this comment
- Agnim, just leave these poor people alone, so many of them are lovely and have massive problems... I dont believe that they are born like it and some research has shown that many homosexuals come from solo or disjointed homes and that their problem is that they are looking for the affection of a man which they never got from their fathers. What breaks my heart is that they stuff up their lives even more when they go into a homosexual relationship.
Some very bright people also go into homosexuality . The problem being that very bright people are often different, they think differently and often dont like playing sport etc, so they are told that they are different because they are in fact gay, which isn't true, they are different because they are bright and sometimes see things differently to others, and can talk on a different level etc..
Agnim, just give homosexuals a few years and most of them will be dead anyway, haven't you read the horrific rise in sexually transmitted diseases amongst ***, some are caused by the consumption of faecal matter..
One article to look up is ..Homosexuals and Sexually Transmitted Infections. now watch the back lash that I will get from my bog... and with a beautiful name like mine being destroyed, I have every right to complain. - Reply to this comment
- Maybe the next time R. Lee Ermey stars in a movie about basic training instead of accusing scared troops of being a peter puffer, he'll accuse them of being a Peter Pace instead? lol! I mean he does have the most g*ay name I've heard of since my ex-wife's Obstetrician who was named Dr. Peter Savage (I kid you not, that was his name. Great MD though).
