The couple won three legs in a row and it seemed like they owned "The Amazing Race: All-Stars" until they lost to Charla and Mirna.
The kiss of death was Rob's misspelling of Philippines on a placard by adding an extra L and omitting a P.
"He wrote out Philippines but that doesn't mean it's his fault," Amber told The Early Show co-anchor Harry Smith. "That challenge was all him. I can't blame him. He was definitely in charge for that one."
"I messed up," Rob said. "We had just a bunch of things that snowballed in that leg that led to our downfall. You know, that's the way the race is. One little thing can set you up."
Rob and Amber are known for being tough, conniving competitors and they seemed confident that they would take home the $1 million prize.

"We felt good, we really did. I wouldn't say overconfident," Rob said. "We've been doing this a while, we know how to play it up a little bit. So there was a little of that going on, I think."
"You can't help to be optimistic. You can't help to be really excited about every single leg. When you finish first, you're going to be excited," Amber said. "You're going to feel very highly of yourself."
Rob and Amber lied to Mirna and Charla about calling a cab and hoped in a taxi meant for them. Later, Rob and Amber gave Mirna and Charla bad directions to the clue-box. Despite their trickery, the newlyweds were still unable to beat the cousins.
"If they don't know what's coming, it's their own fault," Amber said. "There isn't anywhere in the rules that says you can't lie. They're silly to listen to us. Haven't they watched any show we've been on before? You don't trust Amber and Rob."
"Mirna tried to play the martyr up more than a little bit," Rob said.
Even though they lost, Rob and Amber said don't feel badly for them. After all, they spent three weeks in Acapulco.
The couple said that a family is in the near future and they are working on a couple other things they cannot talk about.
"Things are going well," Amber said. "We're coming up on our two-year anniversary. It's been wonderful. We're living in Florida, enjoying it. Every day gets better and better."

- WOW! I never thought of if that way! You hit the nail on the head with that comment! Not to mention, they were the only one's to be on almost ALL the talk shows and what not the day after! Hmmmmm......wonder how much they 'made' for their appearance! You are very smart my friend! LOL

- Cmon. Doesn't anyone think that it seems a little too convenient that they were easily first in the first 3 legs and can do no right on the 4th? Also, the way Rob (we all know how competitive he is)was so complacent about things not working right. And when they were right behind the cousins after the roadblock, he was in no hurry to find the letter and to read it when they got it. I think they threw the race. I think that they might have entered into it to boost the ratings with the understanding that they had prior engagements and would not stay for the whole race.

- I was also 'Jumping for Joy" when Rob & Amber were booted off the show! I think they have had more than their fair share of their 15 minutes of fame and now they need to fade into the background. Must be nice to make a living doing reality show after show. Take a bow Rob & Amber and exit quietly from TV!

- I was screaming and jumping for JOY when Rob & Amber got eliminated. The RACE should be about toughness, smart, fair & square and play straight up. Not lyings, cheatings, and two low balls like Rob and Amber. The only reason they came so close to the last race was because of all the help they got from their celebrity status relating to the SURVIVORS. The Amazing Race should be about clean-fun-tough-race, not the dirty must cheat to win race. I'm afraid the players ' chosen ' have started to ruin the REALLY MEANING of this Amazing Race show.

- Most of the snap crackle and pop are gone from the show....now it's going to be as boring as white rice.
Too bad this was an elimination round, the sizzle is gone. They were fun to watch and they never turned on each other. We will miss them and the show won't hold our interest as much. Can't you bring them back?? - Reply to this comment
- I love Rob and Amber! I have watched all the shows they've been on and personally don't think they've been any sneakier or more low down than most of us would be in the same situation. If you don't like them, don't watch. Some of you seem to forget that they are in a competition. It's not the real world, are they suppose to help someone they are racing against for a million dollars?? The small lies they told were in no way harmful to the other competitors. I think what past competitors have done such as calling and cancelling other peoples cabs were much worse and I didn't see them do anything like that. I applaud them and the way they work together and only wish they were still in the race so there would be someone to cheer for every week. Good luck to them in their lives and whatever is next for them. Keep it up, you guys are great!! Live free and love much!!

- I happen to Love Rob & Amber. They were the spice of the show. I can not get enough of Rob. I was devistated when they came in last the other night. I will not stop watching the show because of it because The Amazing Race is one of the best shows on TV today. But, I really wish it had been a non-elimination round. Very heart breaking to see them go. Can't wait to see the Beauty Queens get the shaft though! Oh Yeah!!

- I will not be watching the Amazing Race anymore because Rob & Amber are not on. I love Rob and Amber. They are a class couple. There are too many couples on the race that spend most of their time bickering. I am impressed with's Rob's respect for Amber.

- I must say, Rob & Amber's 15 minutes of fame was over when they said "I do" on T.V. However, we all know that Amber is the smarter one of the two because if you remember, she was declared the winner on Survivor. It doesn't matter if she married the 2nd place winner, she still beat Rob.
Amber is a sweatheart and she grew up in a small town right next to where I did.
It was funny watching Rob trying to figure out what was wrong with his signs.
(P-H-I-L-I-P-P-I-N-E-S) Here is one for you Rob, P-A-L-A-R-I-N it means "lucky" in Tagalog which is the national language of the Philippines.
Best of luck to Rob and Amber!

- Rob and Amber are a great team to watch. They have the wits and guts to sabotage, remain focused and encouraging to each other, that's how winners play games. This isnt the only team that would succumb to trickery when opportunity arises, so what's the big deal? There's a team that laughed along when Amber mentioned about the cluebox lie, call Rob and Amber their "old friends", but cheered Mirna and Charla on at the pitstop, that display of hypocrisy is much more abhorrent. It's a pity all that's left in the race are a bunch of whiners.

I don't believe other teams won't succumb to schemes when opportunity arise. It is a competition after all, who says it's fair play? There's this team that laughed along when Amber told them about the cluebox lie, call Rob and Amber "old friends", but then cheer Mirna and Charla on when they arrived at the pitstop, that's real ugly hypocrisy.

- I have always loved watching Rob and Amber. They do not pretend to be someone they are not and do not pretend to be innocents. Everyone knows they will do anything to win, yet it is fun watching a couple do this without constant bickering and name calling between themselves. I have seen them both on other shows and enjoy watching them with their fun, easy going personalities and charm. Amazing Race won't be as much fun without them....could they have lost so early due to bad karma? sure, the sly lie may have got them...but in a contest to win $1M anything goes....I just appreciate that they don't yell and get angry at each other or other contestants like so many of the others do...that I find more annoying than a lie to the gullible. I hate when other couples call each other names and belittle each other! And they aren't sore losers either. Good luck to Rob and Amber in their next venture!! I hope to be watching! ;)
