Johnny Depp Filming "Sweeney Todd"
(CBS)
Principal photography has begun in London on "Sweeney Todd" starring Johnny Depp and directed by his longtime collaborator, Tim Burton.
Depp plays the title character in the screen adaptation of the Stephen Sondheim's macabre musical about a vengeful London barber in 19th-century London.
This marks the sixth collaboration between Depp and Burton; they've worked together on "Corpse Bride," "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," "Ed Wood," "Edward Scissorhands" and "Sleepy Hollow."
All the stars will do their own singing for the film.
The film is scheduled for a late 2007 release.
